T-Mobile? - OnePlus 7T Pro (Regular & McLaren) Q & A

I know it won't be officially released in the US but will the be a version that supports TMo USA LTE bands like 71?
Edit. Ok so it looks like it will be released by T-Mobile in the US so no longer a problem

But the US is not getting the 7T Pro. Looked at the OnePlus site and 71 isn't listed BUT it could just need enabled, I'll wait and see.

Hi, I purchased a non carrier International Unlocked Oneplus 7T Pro HD1910 phone. Will it function as a T-Mobile phone by inserting SIM card as T-Mobile or do I have to flash any firmware to get the T-Mobile features I'm not talking about activation but features. Are the members of this thread using their phones in the US or just international? Thank you.

Why would inserting a Sim card change the software/software? If you've bought it international, it comes with international firmware.

From what I've seen, and experienced on other phone, there is very good chance you will never get LTE speeds. Definitely not band 71.
I'm waiting for the T-Mobile version.

Wow that's going to suck I guess I'm going to have to return it. The phone's going to be delivered to me this Wednesday. So the bands are a hardware issue not software correct? I thought by buying an international version would be better for rooting. Oh well back it will go. Thanks for the info.

I have got LTE speeds and band 71 on previous Oneplus unlocked phones, so I dont know what the previous poster is talking about. My advice would be pop your sim in and see for yourself before you draw any conclusions.

That gives me hope, but are your phones international unlocked? I would really want it to work. Guess we'll find out. Thank you.

So maybe that will be the difference since at the moment the pro 7t is only sold over seas. Idk. I'd still wait to test before jumping to conclusions about LTE connectivity and speed and such.

If you get a T-Mobile SIM card and have them activate it, either via phone or in-store, the phone should act as their's. My phone (HD1910) does.
There will be an exclusive T-Mobile "OnePlus 7T Pro 5G" released soon.

I did the same when I originally bought a OnePlus 7 Pro -- I took the SIM out of my LG V10 to get it working. I was just covering the bases when I had T-Mobile send me a new SIM card after returning the OnePlus 7 Pro and before getting the OnePlus 7T Pro (keep in mind that SIM cards get updated/upgraded and I wanted the latest).

What kind of speed are you getting on Tmobile without band 71?

Anybody using this on AT&T?

I know the specs show that it has AT&T LTE bands, but had anybody actually used it on AT&T LTE yet? If so, please report your impressions.

No. The AT&T one doesn't fully support T-Mobile while the T-Mobile one fully supports BOTH T-Mobile and AT&T.
For people who don't want CDMA-based service, the T-Mobile version is the best one to buy for compatibility.

Are you sure about that, Maybe the AT&T version needs to be unlocked for it to work on T-Mobile's HSPA+ Network. I hope like hell it does because I would like to have the 64gb version working on my Network of choice, T-Mobile of course.

This has been discussed to death on the boards.
All the phones have the same internal radio hardware but what's been flashed to each device is different.
i got a att version unlock, big mistake for tmobile. i flashed tmobile rom and radio. alot of places in new york i get 2G which it was constant 4G with my note 2. Place where i get 4G i only get 7mbps. while with my note 2 i was able to get up to 18mbps. Order the tmobile version will return this one. The only reason i bought this is because they had it locally in ATT store while tmobile htc one is on backorder and not avail in any store.
Unfortunately Samsung doesn't just make the same model for both I would imagine it would save them money also but att phones work slow on T-Mobile but other way around your golden

[Q] GSM unlock

Does anyone know how to GSM unlock the Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3 for use with domestic SIM cards? It's got to be possible; people have done it for the HTC One and S4. I tried dialing *#0011# and pressing menu > back, but that simply does absolutely nothing.

It's beyond unlock. Sprint's Note 3 radio is patched to ignore T-mobile and AT&T towers in US. SIM unlock will not help in that matter.
If you have it rooted and custom bootloader you might want to try and FLASH Verizon's note 3 modem.bin file to see if it helps (probably not)
i unlocked it for domestic.

T-Mobile S5 on AT&T network??

The Note 3 and few other devices from T-Mobile can pick up AT&T LTE signal, can the S5 do so as well? Where can we get the device unlocked?
Edit: I have found a website where I believe you can unlock any gsm Galaxy S 5 (I haven't tried it myself but others have) here is the site

It should work without any issues. The cost is $41.99 USD.

Is there a way to network unlock the phone right now? I was going to switch back to ATT today but I might use my Jump on an S5 before I go.
I believe cellunlocker.net should have that unlock soon hopefully...

As of today we are no joy.
T Mobile makes you wait 40 days before they will release the unlock code. And it's $760 total.
I too want this answer -- I paid $660 plus tax ($720) to get mine yesterday.
I bought from TMo because I had read that they aren't locked and the sales person told me the same -- well, it seems that it is. Called Tech Support and they said they can't help me because I don't have a TMo #.
I'll go back to the store today -- unless there's another option.

Has anyone tried to use Samsung Secret codes to unock it? I am not sure if this works for the S5 or not, but there are steps you can use on the S4 that allows you to unlock the phone using codes - See this thread for steps - (careful - I am not positive this works - I don't know what the downside might be if you screw up - but it might be an option - or possibly something similar? )http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283068

Its a fight that will NEVER win. The CDMA carrier vzw ( yes they have LTE ) will never support it. why? because the us gov wont let them ( the 10 pro was originally going to with ATT but NOPE ) and the fact that its not something they can subsidize. they allow specific unlocked phones. thats it. same as sprint. It will never happen or work.
Recently bought a note 9 unlocked from google. Tried to activate it at the store employee said he was unable to do it because the phone not in the verizon database. I told him to activate a new sim on my note 8 verizon phone(micro SD)
then took the micro sd and put the micro sd into the note 9 and it worked.
and put old sim of note 8 back.

My whole reason for asking for unlocked was to Unlock the Bootloader. This would technically be my 1st LG I've ever own since July 2010 when I got my very 1st Android through Sprint Called the HTC EVO. I havent looked to another OS since. Feel in love with Development from the start, currently on Moto G7 aka River Android Dev Team and just left the Google Pixel 4 4XL Dev Group. Bunch of immature lil kids.... Anyway, is there no possibility of Unlocking the BootLoader in the V60? no way to install or flash Magisk for ROOT? No TWRP? I cant even imagine....[emoji23]

Be careful! The carrier-locked LG phones only show carrier-specific radio bands in their spec sheets. This seems improbable in a modern phone but I'm not taking any chances. If the specs are right, a T-Mobile phone would work great at home but be dead while traveling.
