Fastboot OnePlus 5 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Y cant i get fastboot drivers to read in Windows 10. I have updated the software to the latest update. Developer options are turned on. USB configuration is set to file transfer. In a regular state Windows 10 readds the phone and I can access the contents of the phone. I opened a power shell (regular and as admin) I typed "adb devices" it reads. (I have enabled advanced reboot.) I use the command "adb reboot-bootloader" in boots to fastboot. Now it loses connection. I Open the Run dialog box by pressing Windows Key+R. Type “devmgmt.msc” besides Android is a yellow triangle, then click Update Driver.A new window will pop up. Select the ‘Browse my computer for driver software’ option. I copied the drivers from the OnePlus 5 folder. Try to install but nothing. This is where in stuck. Please help. Thanks

Plea for Insight. - Issue rooting

Thank you for everyone who posted on the subject of [Q] ADB doesn't detect device while in bootloader.
I am seeing the same problem.
I have an HTC Rezound that I would like to root.
USB Debugging is on Phone
Turn ON the USB debugging option on your device by heading to Menu > Settings > Developer options > USB debugging
USB connection type is "Charge Only".
Menu->Settings->Connect to PC
Set the default connection type to 'Charge only'
Device is plugged into a USB 2.0
I went to
http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/unlock-instructions
Before beginning the instructions it said to make sure that I had the updated versions of Google SDK, Java and HTC.
NOTE: I am not using the LATEST java. I did not update my java because the software I use for my job is a bit behind. I am using Version 7 update 60 (build 1.7.0_60b19)
I used these links to get the "latest" versions and installed them as directed.
Google Android SDK zip:
http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
Java Runtime Environment:
http://java.com
HTC Sync Manager:
http://www.htc.com/hsm
Instructions from HTCdev.com
Step 1
After powering down, press Volume Down and while pressing Volume Down, press Power holding both buttons to start the device into Bootloader mode. If you have difficulty, power up normally, go to Settings->Battery and deselect Fast boot. Power down and try again.
Step 2
Use the Volume buttons to select up or down. Highlight Fastboot and press the Power button.
Step 3
Connect the device to the computer via a usb cable
Step 4
Download the following fastboot binary for your OS using the following links:
Platform Download Size (bytes) Checksum
Fastboot binary, Windows
(Unzip the file before executing) fastboot-win 83753 a90c25141e306b3062dc8e47e14a1005
Step 5
Open a command Prompt: Windows: Start->"cmd"
Type in Command Prompt: fastboot oem get_identifier_token.
It says it is waiting for a device message.
And this is where I get stuck.
I rebooted the phone.
<SDK location>\android-sdk\platform-tools\adb devices
I ran adb devices and it sees the device and gives me a device number.
<SDK location>\android-sdk\platform-tools\adb reboot bootloader
This put the phone in bootloader mode.
<SDK location>\android-sdk\platform-tools\adb devices
Now I no longer see the device.
Now you say, I don't have the right USB driver. Sounds perfectly reasonable.
I tried several different drivers (the ones from the brand new HTC sync I thought would work, but they didn't)
tried the drivers that came with the
WinDroid Universal Toolkit by WindyCityRockr
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2437371
and most recently I tried the Universal Nake Driver created by 1wayjonny.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...nt/adb-fb-apx-driver-universal-naked-t2513339
Same problem.
So clearly, there is something else I am not doing.
I would really appreciate your help.
When your phone is in fastboot mode you cannot use "ADB Devices" to view it, you can to use "fastboot devices" instead. It will either find or not find the device. If it does not, I think it is still a driver issue.
I'd uninstall all your fastboot drivers (HTC etc), plug in the phone again, wait until it asks for driver, then have it search automatically online (assuming you're on W7). Then try fastboot again.

Adb and device unauthorized

Hi!
I have RN2 with MIUI 16.6.7.0 with root access.
ADB v1.0.32
Win 8.1
If I run "adb devices" when phone is running system, I get response "s/n device" as I should. But when I boot phone to recovery (MI-Recovery 2.0.1) I get "s/n unauthorized".
I have tried rebooting PC and phone, disabling and enabling USB debugging, deleting adbkey and adbkey.pub on PC (only instance was in users/user/.android/), revoking USB debugging authorizations, changing USB ports. Nothing.
The last thing I did:
1. reboot phone to system.
2. developer options > turn developer options on/off > turn debugging on/off <> Revoke USB Debugging Authorization
3. reconnect phone to PC
4. was asked: RSA key fingerprint + always allow from this computer > OK
5. run "adb devices" gives "s/n device"
6. disconnect phone
7. power off phone
8. phone to recovery
9. reconnect phone
10. run "adb devices" gives "s/n unautorized"
11. disconnect phone from USB
12. run "adb kill-server"
13. run "adb start-server"
14. reconnect phone
15. run "adb devices" gives "s/n unautorized"
I guess something is wrong with recovery mode on the device. Any ideas?
Thank you
MK
+ run "adb shell" gives " error: device unauthorized. This adbd's $ADB_VENDOR_KEYS is not set; try 'adb kill-server' if that seems wrong. Otherwise check for a confirmation dialog on your device."

"On the device, vendors public keys are installed at build time in /adb_keys. User-installed keys are stored in /data/misc/adb/adb_keys."
On my device user-installed keys are stored in /data/misc/adb/adb_keys. The only other instance of adb_keys is /bin/adb_keys. If it has any relevance.
You need to check in the device the popup, the device ask if you want authorize your computer for connection with adb, remember you need to enable adb debug first with push 7 times on miui version into about device.
In recovery adb isn't available you can enable only the adb transfer from the advance menu.

Hi!
Thanks a million for your reply. :good:
I did all that already in steps 2, 4 and 5 and it worked. My problem is adb in stock recovery mode.

Damn I have much to learn (hundreds of pages in a few days and I still dont know anything . So stock recovery doesn't come with ADB access and I am trying to do something that can not be done? ClockworkMod recovery for example should have ADB support if I understand correctly?
I also have that proble my device not connected to phone what I do tell me..

If problem is PC <> phone then install drivers for your phone on PC.
Or describe your problem better.

Trying to apply Nexus 6P bootloop fix

Downloaded and installed ADB. Following tutorial here:
https://www.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p-bootloop-fix/
Specifically:
- Connect your smartphone or tablet to your computer with a USB cable. Change the USB mode to “file transfer (MTP)” mode. Some OEMs may or may not require this, but it’s best to just leave it in this mode for general compatibility.
- In the Command Prompt window, enter the following command to launch the ADB daemon: adb devices
- On your phone’s screen, you should see a prompt to allow or deny USB Debugging access. Naturally, you will want to grant USB Debugging access when prompted (and tap the always allow check box if you never want to see that prompt again).install adb
- Finally, re-enter the command from step #6. If everything was successful, you should now see your device’s serial number in the command prompt. Yay! You can now run any ADB command on your device! Now go forth and start modding your phone by following our extensive list of tutorials!
https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/
I did all the above. But don't see anything from:
C:\ADB>fastboot devices
C:\ADB>fastboot flash boot 6p48C.img
< waiting for any device >
Nexus 6P was plugged into the USB cable on Win10 machine. Am in MTP mode. Most recent Google USB drivers installed.
I have done OEM Unlock in setup|Developer options. I have also turned on USB debugging in same options.
I am [obviously] lost. Anyone know what else I might try?
OK, I have made a little progress messing around on my own. It seems that running from the CMD line in Win 10, ADB command works but Fastboot does not. WHY? Bith are in the same directory.
If I type Fastboot by itself, then I get a list of the associated parameters, which means that the CMD system DOES recognize the Fastboot command.
Now, if I run CMD====> "ADB devices", it looks like my device is recognized and attached (that is my serial# below).
But if I try CMD=====> "Fastboot devices", as the instructions require, I get nothing. And if I try to run the flash job via Fastboot, that does not work either.

Wondering if I need to install the Android SDK on Windows for this process to work?
I Think You need to Redo The process from Step One.
I Heard about This and Never Did An OTA.
If it Persists Try Using A Different PC and If After That It doesn't work Then Yes Android SDK is The last Option.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Solved. I needed to add the ADB install directory to the environmental path. Don't quite understand why, but doing so allowed me to get the problem fixed.

[Help] My phone does not show any confirmation on oem unlock request!

Hi everyone.
I apologize if this was already asked.
I own a Symphony H50. I am trying to install windows via change my software but it shows device too slow or protected by manufacturer.
So googled it and found that i need to unlock my boot loader.
So I installed adb, fastboot, drivers including bootloader interface driver. And booted into fastboot mode. And typed "fastboot oem get_unlock_data" and the command prompt shows 3 dots (...) And the cursor keeps flashing. And no confirmation message shows up on my phone.
It only shows "FASTBOOT mode".
Another thing i found out while installing adb drivers that it listed my phone manufacturer as HTC.
So is the problem with my phone?
And how do i fix it?
It may be a problem with driver, uninstall the previous one and install Koush universal adb driver from kaushikdatta.com
Use the link given below for a thorough tutorial to replace drivers.
http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/android-wont-connect-windows-adb-fix-it-three-steps/
Thanks for reply,
I'll try the drivers.
Though my adb drivers are working fine. My issue is with fastboot.
When i boot into fastboot mode it shows "FASTBOOT mode" on a black screen.
But i would try with the
That black screen with fastboot mode written at the bottom comes up on every phone when you boot into bootloader.
Please read the whole guide before proceeding.
You may skip the driver and adb installation part if u have already taken the measures I stated before.
Try this,
Download adb and Koush Universal adb driver and install them on ur pc, always install the driver first and don't install the drivers adb setup asks u to install.
Run command prompt as administrator.
Open the folder in c drive where adb is installed, u can use file explorer for this.
Press Shift+right click and select open command window here.
Enable USB debugging on your phone and connect it to the pc by a USB cord.
Enter command "adb devices" without quotation marks.
If it shows some device connected, only then proceed further.
Enter command " adb reboot bootloader"
Enter command " fastboot devices", if it shows some device to be connected, only then proceed further.
Enter command " fastboot oem unlock".
Ur phone may then ask for final confirmation on the phone screen, select yes.
When procedure completes, type "fastboot reboot" and ur phone will reboot.
U can now use Kingoroot or any other tool for rooting.

The Indomitable Z3001S

So I just got a QLink ZTE Z3001S and this thing is unflappable. I enabled OEM Unlocking under Developer Options, USB debugging to my PC, I believe I have the appropriate driver for the phone on my PC, and I just freshly reinstalled adb. When I open a command prompt in that folder, it's able to find the device with "adb devices", but when I try "adb reboot bootloader" it just restarts normally. I got some sort of recovery menu when manually holding volume down while powering up, but when I select "reboot to bootloader" it just boots normally, and connecting my PC to it and trying the command "adb devices" does nothing here. I also tried many different root programs anyway to no avail.
Well, I'm stumped. Any ideas?
