in the latest beta 17/10 it was fixed at least

I dirty flashed this rom over weekly beta 9 10.17 .. phone didn't boot..
Does it require full wipe?

I dirty flashed stable over beta and everything works fine
You need to flash DFE (disable force encryption) to use old data or else format data to boot

Fixed in beta and still broken in the Miui 11 stable

Fingerprint is quick and scrolling is super smooth too. Like this build a lot.

well I dirty flashed over latest EU beta, did a "format data" to be able to boot, and for me it works without the icon as well.

It depends on how you put the device to sleep. Using the power button it will work. If you double tap to sleep using Nova or lawnchair through the accessibility permission, the finger print unlock will not work.
It does work with the last xiaomi.eu beta.
