audio lag on 932 branded T-Mobile - LG V30 Questions & Answers

Ever since I upgraded to 9.0 I've noticed that all audio is lagging behind the video. I'm all stock and don't plan on rooting and was wondering if anyone else experiencing this and has a fix

Still no fix for quiet vids?

I am guessing there is still no fix for the nearly non-existent sounds on videos recorded with the TB? Anyone have any idea when this might roll out?
I don't have any problem with my videos
Lucky you, I guess.
Well you don't specify anything so what else is anyone supposed to say. Has it always been like this? If not when did it start? Are you rooted? If so what rom are you running? What kernel are you running?
You can't complain about a problem and just magically expect a fix, provide information and people can help you.
The OP is talking about the dual microphones on the device. These as we know are intended to reduce background noise while on a call, unfortunately they work all the time, essentially canceling out almost all sound when recording video with the stock camcorder. HTC has recognized this as an issue and has stated that a fix will pushed out. As of yet I have not heard of any updates being pushed.

Thanks for the clarification and the helpful response. As an aside, responding that "I dont have a problem with XXX" is not really all that helpful. Thanks for your thoughts though.
The new leaked RUU made available yesterday SHOULD fix the audio issues, but I can't confirm this. Anyone have experiences with this?
I can confirm the leaked RUU fixed the low audio problem on video playback.
I can confirm that it works for me too
I can confirm that the leaked RUU fixes the low audio problems. The last of my issues is now resolved

[Q] Call quality with cm7 on Vibrant

I have recently installed the latest (at the time) nightly of cm7 for my Vibrant. Ever since I've been getting lots of complaints from the people I'm talking two that my voice keeps dropping off during the call. Has anybody else experienced something like this?
Any idea if there is another ROM I could try that would improve this?

What specific version are you running? Check in Settings > About phone.
Upgrade to the latest nightly. If you're not running 7-20120402 or higher then you still have the tunnel voice bug.
That might be the answer. I'm running 7-20120330.
I'll install that build as soon as I can. Thanks.

[Q] Distortion on bluetooth audio?

It appears that the HTC One stock ROMs suffer from the same bluetooth audio distortion that was plaguing the N4 and other AOSP 4.1.x and up ROMs until recently.
Can someone please test some mp3 audio that is:
- Local on their device, bitrate higher than 256kbps
- streaming to a set of good speakers that can reproduce high frequencies well
Play some Led Zeppelin or jazz that has lots of cymbal work, or some vocal music, and listen for distortion on the cymbal crashes or the 's' or 'ch' sounds.
I don't believe it is just me. HTC One Sprint users are reporting the same. I just want to make sure it isn't just them and my unit or something.

I can confirm it does. Had the Nexus 4 and right now I'm using the HTC One (unlocked). Thinking of getting rid of it since my T-Zones does not work with it.

Sigh. 3 steps forward, 4 steps backwards (at least for me). That distortion is terribly grinding on the ears.
CM10.1 will save me! When it is released...
Just FYI, tested with AOSP CM10.1 ROM and the problem is gone. It's definitely a bug that exists in the stock Sense 5 ROM.
I thought I was the only one (no pun) with this issue. It's very annoying. I hope the stock version gets fixed soon.
Anyone with the recent sense updates have any improvement on this front?

Can I bother you guys to test the problem with wifi disabled? I've heard that that may help the problem...

Doesn't make a difference. Using the 4.2.2 ROM too. Sorry for the late reply bro.

I have a Sprint HTC One, but the Bluetooth problem is the only reason I keep going back to ViperROM from CM10.1. My Bluetooth (Jawbone ERA) works fine for music and other media sounds, but phone audio is completely messed up. My speech is not getting picked up at all, and the remote party sounds garbled. I also tried disabling the WiFi per your request, but that had zero effect. I went from a 5/27 nightly to 6/19, but the Bluetooth phone audio issue has remained.

I have a T-Mobile HTC One and same deal... had Dirty Unicorns installed and bluetooth music/etc worked great, but phone calls were just a fuzzy, distorted mess. And since I still use my phone for calls (and rely on a headset for work) it was unusable.
Right now I'm rocking a stock rooted ROM since I haven't found a ROM yet that works well enough to be my daily.

Bluetooth Audio lagging after OTA Lollipop update

Hello to all,
I am having an issue with my bluetooth audio streaming on my LG G3. It seems like it is lagging when i am playing music through my car stereo. I have done a backup and then a factory reset and restore and it did not help. Audio plays good for 45 seconds to a minute and then it starts to gets choppy, in and out audio, pitch and speed up and down. Has anyone else had this problem? Any solutions? I would appreciate all the help i can get! Thank you in advance
It's a known issue with Lollipop.
If you find a solution I'd love to know. Been looking for a solution for more than a month.

I read that it could be the processor is bottle necking. As if lollipop is trying to conserve power to increase battery life. So this causes the bluetooth to stutter, so to speak.

Also, some people have received an update for lollipop that they fixed the issue. Update V20H. I would post the link but im not allowed to yet
Not to double post, but for posterity (and because I found it before this one) here's the last thread from March. Just to keep things together and in one place.

Update:
My nexus7 2012 works great with the deh-80prs deck on both 4.4 and 5.1.0 with no changes needed.
The issue definitely appears to be in either Verizon's or LGs implementation of the driver in 23C.

Poco f1 (low earpiece volume)

Hi,
I have been experiencing low call volumes since few month's, exactly don't remember when this started and what was the reason behind it.
I tried out all the possible troubleshooting methods but nothing worked till now, but there is one strange thing that when i use whatsapp or any other internet voice call applications the sound is normal, loud and crystal clear. The only issue is with the normal calls.
I'm assuming it's because of the last update of miui 11.0.8, though i am not sure but i have strong feeling that the update is the issue.
I'm running MIUI 11.0.8 Global Rom and phone is not rooted neither bootloader is unlocked.
If anybody know what's the reason behind it or anybody has a solution for it, kindly share asap.
And if someone else is experiencing the same issue do share your feedback on this thread.
Any kind of help and feedfack is appreciated.
Thanks
i'm facing the same issue best case to wait for another update to fix it
Maybe you should try to clean the mesh that is on the speaker.
Mine mic totally "glued" by dirt ( I bouth used phone). It was hard to clean it without damaging the mic. Try isopropyl alcohol.
I guess its 11.0.8 update issue. Lets wait for next update till next year. ****ty China.
Do you guys think factory reset will solve this issue?
Did 11.0.9 update resolved this issue for anyone?
Guys one thing i can confirm is, its not due to the software. Thinking its the Miui,i rooted the phone and flashed Corvus ROM, but still the issue persists..

Have you tried flashing custom kernel?
Maybe that might help.
MIUI comes with Silvercore kernel and most probably Corvus comes with the same.
I suggest use optinus drunken or sphinx kernel
I hope its helps you.
I did flashed sphinx kernel.. even though it's better than previous but still is low..
Is your device rooted?
No.. by rooted means ' did I flash magisk?'.. no I didn't flash magisk..

If you've tried all possible methods on the software end then it might be an issue with hardware. If you have a local cellphone repair, might want to have it checked.
Actually after a day flashing the kernel, the audio volume has increased significantly.. guess the new kernel is learning the volume.. finally now I am able to use my poco F1..

Just an update.. the phone is back!!! Kernel was the issue. After flashing custom kernel microphone volume is fixed..
Which kernel did you flash?

I use to sing in Karaoke apps. What I noticed that this is the issue with Firmware itself. All Android 10 firmwares like 11.0.4, 11.0.6, 11.0.8 and 11.0.9.
Because when I flash any Rom based on Android 9 with any Pie firmwares till 11.0.5 I use to set my Mic gain to" -2" in Karaoke apps... As it's too loud.
But when I use any Android 10 rom with Android 10 firmware then I have to set Mic gain to "+3.5".. as it's too low and I can't hear anything.. and even after setting it up at +3.5 it's barely audible..
This is not hardware issue at all this is particularly firmware issue. Because it's working fine in Pie firmwares.
If you don't believe then you may experience it by your own. Just flash any Rom based on 11.0.5 firmware and see the difference in Mic volume in any recording apps or whatsapp voice messages or video calls or Messenger calls etc
I have got the same issue. Don't understand why the volume is low. Did you find any fix for the same?
you can use Franco Kernel Manager, in the kernel settings it is possible to change the sound. but it needs root, i always use it with all kernel and roms you can buy it on playstore very cheap.
