Hi all, am using Omnirom Pie and can't edit some internal files like mixer_paths with Root Explorer. Something to do with selinux security although it says it's disabled under Trust. Anyone have a fix for this. Thanks.
Twrp, Aroma filemanager, copy to sd, edit and copy back
Look that the files have the right permission

I'm running BeanStalk and can't do anything with system files using either the built in BeanStalk Explorer or ES File Explorer. I'm trying to move some apps to system app but it won't work. Also I cannot edit permissions on anything in the system either or edit my build.prop. I won't even fix permissions in Recovery. I've tried remounting the system with Terminal Emulator but still can't get the option to change permissions. It's 4.3 based is there something different on the latest build of android.
Hi, i have a 64 Gb exFat sd card that works very well but the problem is writing and editing in it. With MiXplorer i can see all the files in it but if i try to copy and paste something for example, it says that i need to grant permissions and then the stock file manager appears. Unfortunately there is not an option for granting permissions in it but i can just looking inside the sd card and edit it...Anyone else had a similar problem? Honestly i don't want to change file manager. I've already tried to search for permissions in MiXplorer but is different from ES File Manager which i had better permissions' control. Thanks for any suggestion :highfive:
Install NextApp SDFix apk, run and follow instructions.
That solved every problem with sdcard permissions (specially the one in Titanium Backup).
SDFix link
It states that this is for kitkat but works with lollipop, as did on my version 5.0.2 build 180
Remember to restart phone after done.
i have shv-e210l and i have cm13 installed on it. i decompress system.new.dat and make addition in system/app and again compress it and it flashed successfully. but when system starts up my application (ChatSecure) which i added to rom was popup ("stoped working"). do i need to add some permissions or what? because my general concept is that when i download application from google play store it asks certain permissions. i need help if i need permissions or not and if i need permissions how can i add them.
Hi,
I need help. I want to edit file - mixer_paths_tavil.xml.
It's in /vendor/etc folder.
I want to change max volume, but i can't save this file, after editing.
Please help!
Have you tried making a duplicate of the file, edit it, and then eliminate the first one( after you make a backup, of course) ? If it doesn't work with a Root file Manager, you can always use TWRP to copy and move files...
For me... The easy step is copy this file to phone storage. Then edit, when finish, just copy to the foldẻr then overwrite. For easy do, can try "xplore"
I tried, I can't delete a file, or overwrite / replace it with other.

Go to recovery mount your system then reboot ? edityour file then save
To change master volume you can simply install viper magisk module ? in viper settings you can edit master volume
The OP7T Pro UI sounds are located @ : Root --> Product --> Media --> Audio --> UI.
Is there anyway I change or replace these? I have tried (via Solid Explorer & SD Maid; I'm rooted & granted these 2 apps superuser/ root access in Magisk) but there seems to be a permissions issue which prevents me making any changes to the UI folder contents.
When I have tried to change the file or folder permission attributes (currently -rw-r-r-) it does not succeed.
Any help/ advice please?

Could try root explorer might work
I've tried Solid Explorer Pro/ ES file explorer/ SD maid/ X-plore/ Root explorer Pro - same problem.
Even though I'm rooted - it seems that I can access Root only for viewing. I cannot edit or modify any of the Root files or folders despite changing the permission attributes. They all default back to -rw-r-r- (mode 644)
Is this expected given the Android 10 partitions issue, or is there a solution/ workaround I have missed?

Try building a magisk module maybe?
Beyond me I'm afraid!
Perhaps you can show how to do it?
