Slow Sync on Verge - Amazfit

Using an iPhone 7 App to sync with Verge. The sync process takes a long time even if I do it one after the other. Why this slow? Is that normal?

No one else has this problem? Hmmm.

Gmail on the Flyer

I am a Google Apps user with my own domain. The Gmail app on the Flyer is just the standard one and is not really making good use of the screen real estate.
So, I configures the HTC Mail app to connect to my account using Exchange ActiveSync and set it to push mail. I have noticed 2 annoying issues. Firstly, I often get told that there has been an authentication error with an icon in the top bar. Eventually, I can manually get it to sync with my gmail and that goes away for a while.
Secondly, the Mail app is using loads of battery. Looking in the battery stats, I noticed that it used 12% of battery and in the last 3 hours or so, it kept the phone awake for almost an hour and a half! Overall, the Flyer lost 10% of its battery in 3 hours without being touched. Not very good. I have changed push mail to sync every 10 minutes, but it is not really what I wanted.
Can anyone help here or offer any advise?
Thanks.
I am using gmail only as a secondary adress with manual update, Exchange is my primary application and on push all day long. I have no issues with battery life whatsoever, so either it is a problem linked to gmail or it some other app causing the problem.
Very, very happy with the battery life up to now! You shouldn't expect any comparison to Xoom or iPad, but as I wrote taking games and videos out of consideration and using it as a business device with eMail push, web,... I can't imagine someone would manage to get out of battery during a day...

Thanks for this info. Out of interest, who is your exchange account with? A corporate account? I do wonder if it is a Google issue. I am trying it out with the same settings on my phone to see what happens.
Are we the only 2 on here with the Flyer?

[Q] mail drain battery

Hello people,
Having serious problem with my mail since it's drains my battery!
I have 3 exchange accounts (2 Hotmail, 1 MS exchange of my work) and the problem is that something called MAIL_SERVICE keeps my device awake all the time (used betterbattrystats).
For testing proposes I only set 1 Hotmail account, but the problem still remains.
I configured it to be by push so maybe it has something to do with it.
Using cognition 1.31, with ninphetamine 2.0.5 kernel.
In addition I installed the premium mail services that the designer of cognition removed.
added some photos for u to understand better!
thanks thanks thanks!!!
I have been sitting for 4 days in a row to understand better and to fix this annoying problem!!!
Well you have the mail accounts set up with Auto Sync dude, so that will keep the device awake and which is clear by your graph. So it's very normal battery drain will be more than normal. You have to change it to Manual Sync/Refresh to get better battery life mate.
Regards.

Yes I understand what you're trying to say, but I don't think it should behave like it.
For example whatsapp or viber are also push apps but non of them is connected all the time.
In addition, I think its more like the mail is kind of stuck during the communication with the server.
Can more people confirm that the mail should behave like its behaving for me???
Thanks guys

Just noticed mail is awake for one hour and 40 minutes and that's allllot! Couldn't be because of the push
And note that the mail is also using about 50 mb a day which is a looot for 2kb emails and less then 10 mails...
That's the only thing left for me to say its the best device on earth...
If ill fix it I can die happy

Anyone else on latest ICS leak (605.10) having trouble with facebook live feed sync

Hey all, the past few days my Facebook Live Feed Sync, has been "running continuously" and seemingly not getting anywhere, also facebook calendar (which I don't use) when enabled would just 'fail'. I've noticed facebook has tried to make me re-authorize a bunch, and re-setup sync. But it keeps happening, I have to disable the sync for my phone to even get a chance to go to sleep.
I'm wondering if it's a bug related to facebooks news oAuth having timelimits now, and not properly reauthorizing the htc facebook app.
Just throwing it out there to see if anyone else has seen an issue.
I've been having problems with it today on my phone. It's working fine on my tablet.
On a possibly related note my battery drained in about 7.5 hours yesterday so I disabled Facebook sync and gmail sync just to see. Now, I've been using the phone less since then (and the battery will die again soon) but I'm on about 21 hours right now. I'm thinking Facebook sync may have had had a lot to do with that since I reenabled gmail a few hours ago.
Then again, that could be a coincidence... But the app has been having issues.

Yeah. Something is definitely up.... I deleted it, wiped both the cache and dalvik and disabled htc facebook apk. I'm keep an eye on it.

Exchange keeping phone awake

I have one exchange account set to sync calendar and email. The Exchange process itself only uses around 7% of battery according to the battery graph. The 'awake' line under the graph has some solid areas accompanied by a corresponding steep drop on the battery curve.
Using GSam battery monitor to show which app had the most Time held awake shows Exchange over 5hrs.
I tried changing from Push email to every 10 minutes but it hasn't helped.
I also tried deleting the account, clearing cache and data from the exchange app and recreating the account.
Has anyone solved this issue?
I have not solved it but have the same problem. Galaxy S3. I need Exchange Sync, it finally got me to stop missing BlackBerry
Charging twice a day still stinks. Do other Android phones have this constant awake issue when running Exchange? Is the issue specific to ICS?
Hi, never experienced this on my S3, but did on my S1. A few things to try:
- Push can actually be more battery friendly
- Disable Calendar sync, if that cures it, try deleting all recurring appointments, starting with the oldest ones. Bad recurring appointments are known to send the sync process in a loop.
- Wrong login credentials keep the phone awake, even when sync is set to never!
I use Enhanced Email, in which security can be overided ( no server forcing a lock on the phone). I have read that security policies from the ecchange server can cause problems too.

Yep same problem here too, anyone?
I'll try turning off calendar sync. I turned off push but that made no difference, as you suspected. I use touchdown for email, task, and calendar and also use device exchange sync for calendar (the latter so Calendar Snooze will work with appointments). I can probably get by syncing calendar manually but not using is not an option since calendar is more important than calls and email for me.
Will report back with findings.

Hi techphets
Just wondering if you managed to fix this issue??
Ive also spent hours and hours trolling around trying to find a fix for this, but with no success any thoughts?? I have the galaxy s2 (not rooted, ics 4.0.3) so its definitely not just your S3, its more widespread. ICS? or the email app??
Cheers
i never use any stock apps especially when it connects to the networks and syncs so i just uninstall it to make sure that it doesn't consume battery life
Thanks. However when I log in to outlook online on my phone, the emails that appear are months old so it doesn't sync online. The only way to see new emails it to use the app (so I've found so far anyway)
