History:
1. Was on 10.3.2 Xiaomi.EU ROM
2. Backed up w/ TWRP-3.3.1,
3. Wiped and flashed 11-01build for LineageOS17 (Android 10), PICO GAPPS
4. Restored back up from Step #2
Now I encounter "Find Device Storage Corrupted, your device is unsafe" on every single reboot now. I did some research and all sensors to my knowledge seem to be working fine. I tried to find a persist.img to flash via TWRP or fastboot to alleviate this problem (from my searches which showed these results but for other devices). but it seems Xiaomi does not have a persist.img for the Mi Pad 4 fastboot rom.
Does anyone else encounter this problem returning to MIUI after a Pixel Ex or LineageOS rom? Some help would be greatly appreciated.

A month ago I tried installing Android 9.0 ROM and i got reboot loop after I did the phone setup. I tried different ROMs and everything had the same problem. Even twrp will also stop showing any files in the device and I need to change the file system and revert it back again then mount my phone to desktop and transfer the ROM. I was told that it was because of me not installing MIUI 10 before trying it. So today I installed MIUI 10 and tried installing lineage 16.0 and got the same problem. Phone starts going into reboot And recovery does not show any files!
Please help me from this hell! I'm hating this MIUI.

First of all I have to assume that you are sure that you have Redmi 5 plus (Vince) and not Redmi Note 5 Pro (Whyred), if this is the case let´s go to the next.
Any Miui rom encrypts data by default at least from oreo so no way to avoid this, if you flash a Miui rom then your data wont´be accesible and the next rom to be flashed you have to sideload it via adb (there are other ways).
I think you missed something here, if you flash a mui rom and over it a pie rom then there´s no way that your device reboots to system. You only have to flash firmware 8.1 from miui not the whole rom.
Start this from the scratch; I recommend OrangeFox recovery instead of TWRP so it has more features https://forum.xda-developers.com/re.../official-orangefox-recovery-project-t3807479
- Before to flash nothing In orangeFox recovery enable the options DM-verity and disable force encryption, you will find too options to keep OTA and others, check which you want.
- Flash the firmware miui 8.1 https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603850663
- Flash the pie rom for vince (may not apply for a GSI pie)
- Flash the Gapps (if needed)
it´s all.
Just a tip; be careful with changing system of files at any time so if the process is cutted/interrupted for some reason your device could be seriously damaged.
it does. you just need to flash firmware file first.
I literally got my Mi Pad 4 (lte) today. Initially it had MIUI EU rom installed, but I somehow managed to wipe the system while trying to install Lineage 16, resulting in having no OS. After several hours of struggle, I managed to install MIUI 10 Chinese stock (10.3.2) via MiFlash. However, I cannot go pass the twrp password stage when I use twrp on adb. I tried formatting data a few times, but it didn't work. I tried adb sideload option from twrp to install twrp or any other ROM, but again, the data mounting issue got in the way. I am completely stuck, and I am desperate. I have tried many different versions of twrp available on this forum, but none of them worked. Could anyone possibly help me? Which twrp worked for you? I've tried:
"TWRP-20190104-3.2.3.0-3-clover.img"; "twrp-3.3.1-clover.img" (from unofficial twrp); "recovery-TWRP-3.2.3-0930-XIAOMI_PAD4(PLUS)-CN-wzsx150.img".
Any help would be hugely appreciated! Many thanks!!!
Problem solved! I used the latest version of the Chinese TWRP (by LR Team) which has a function to disable forced encryption. I needed to reboot the tablet a couple of times to achieve it, but eventually the password step on TWRP was gone! Many thanks to LR Team!! I still don't know what (else) I should do when the 'format data' option on TWRP doesn't remove the encryption. .. Anyway, I have now managed to install MIUI 10 EU then Pixel Experience without an issue.
(sorry if posting in the wrong place)
Background:
A few months, after receiving my Mi Note 10 Lite Miui 11 to 12 update, I finally rooted the phone using the Magisk patched boot method. All fine.
A while ago, with the latest MIUI 12 minor update we got, I lost root again. Now I wanted to root it again, and tried to find if there was already a working TWRP for this phone.
What happened:
After googling a bit, I found a post on XiaomiEU that had instructions to install a working TWRP (to install the rom). So I followed the steps, flashing vbmeta and the twrp image. Rebooted to recovery and as it was installed, I rebooted to system. After that, the first problem. It would only boot the twrp, not system.
To fix this, I got the latest stock fastboot rom and installed it via miFlash (with flash_all_but_storage option). Managed to boot again to Miui. After doing the google restoring steps, I found out that all my internal storage files were encrypted.
What I've tried so far:
formatted data (not internal storage and data/media) and tried again
installed a different TWRP I found here in XDA that supposedly would decrypt the files (twrp-3.4.0-14-toco-mauronofrio). It asks for the encryption password when starting and I get a success message when entering the right password, but even in the recovery file manager the files are encrypted.
installing recovery rom through TWRP without formatting data
(side note: on system, the Xiaomi Cloud restore seems to be always stuck without restoring anything and there is no way to stop it)
Can anyone please help me get my files (photos and videos, more importantly) back? Is there any hope? The files are there and I know the password, there must be something I can do...
Thanks in advance
Do you want to keep MIUI or go to a custom rom ?
Hello friends,(Don't mind my English)
I am trying to install PE Rom in my redmi note 10 (mojito) for 2 days.
I tried from adb, I successfully installed recovery.img of PE rom
But when i tried to open the recovery in the phone. It got stuck on bootloop.
Although I've fixed the bootloop, but it always gets stuck on bootloop on this step. I tried many times.
(I've followed all instructions carefully. My bootloader is unlocked and USB debugging is on)
I've also tried TWRP, But facing the same problem with that too.
It always geta stuck on bootloop. I've literally tried it 7-8 times.
Someone Please help!!!
use april recovery, may recovery is broken.
However i recommand you to use PixelPlusUI or PixelOS instead of PE cuz they are more optimized
- flash fastboot miui rom
- flash ofox beta
- format data
- flash pe rom
- done
Hi all,
I experience some issues installing a custom ROM to my Huawei Honor 7 PLK-L01 phone. Can anyone help me or pointing me in the right direction please?
I'm trying to install a custom ROM, but from the ones I tried to install (DigiROM, H7T, Lineage 13, Lineage 13 v2, Lineage 14, Pure, YodaROM), I only managed to get Lineage 13 and Lineage 13 v2 working on my phone. I was able to install all other ROM's, but after installation and rebooting, the phone got stuck on the "Honor" start-up screen and not continue to boot the ROM afterwards.
(By the way, does someone have the MoDaCo Custom ROM (by paulobrien) available? I want this ROM the most, but the download site has been taken offline )
I'm using TWRP v3.2.1-0, but also tried installations with TWRP v3.1.1-0-plank.
With all installations, I wiped dalvik/cache/data/system and installed the ROM by installing the copied .zip file from my SD card, via TWRP.
(Installation via ADB Sideload is not working. Device is not recognized in ADB, even after installing USB drivers. Fortunately, installing via TWRP works for me.)
My phone is unlocked and root is working fine. The phone version was initially C432B121 (Don't know if this changes with each ROM installation?)
Although LOS13 is able to be installed on my phone, with this ROM, I'm not able to charge my phone... When I try to select the USB configuration mode (via "Select USB configuration" via Developer Options), the settings menu crashes after selecting one, with error message "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped."
When setting up a lock screen security (eg. PIN code to unlock phone), the same error occurs.
Furthermore, the camera is not working, but this would be a known issue for this ROM. Hence, on my phone, the camera is also not working with suggested apps as Footej, Camu, or Cameringo, which should deal with this issue.
Does anyone recognize this? Do I have a sort of admin rights issue? Or do I need to install a matching firmware version for each ROM? Or perhaps another TWRP version?
Right now I have installed Lineage OS 13 Reloaded v2.0 (Android 6.0.1) (by Spirtix & Speedo.thc)
Problem solved! Updating the OTA firmware was my solution (C432B121 to B130, then to B180, then B370).
Thanks to DigiGoon, these files can be downloaded here: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=102830
