Bricked?

My phone was running at about 60% battery last night, and working fine. It was in my pocket and it vibrated. I was unable to turn it on or reboot it, even after removing the battery. I tried using the battery from my wife's S2 but still no luck. I tried connecting the power supply but it still wouldn't boot so I left it charging overnight.
This morning it alternately flashed a fully green battery and a fully black battery. If I press and hold the power button it starts the boot process - I get past the Samsung splash screen and see the first "Resurrection Remix" splash screen, but then it reverts to displaying the green battery.
Any ideas for how I can revive the phone??

Ok We cant say its bricked!! Because its booting up but not coming to homescreen rite? Are u able to get into recovery or download mode?? If ur able o then wipe the data cache and dalvik cache, reinstall the ROM again.. If Recovery doesnt shw up.. Then Use ODIN to flash original fw!! Even if u still couldn get it.. Order a USB JIG from Ebay and try getting into DOWNLOAD MODE!! Even after this its still working means ITS BRICKED !!
Start download mode and the flash a new stock firmware . And your phone isnt bricked .!
This is why I always make a backup.
If you can get into download mode you can fix it, if you can't it's a service centre job. Pretty simple really.
Try cleaning charging port..

Uh oh...I managed to get into Recovery mode, did a factory reset and kicked off a re-install of the Resurrection Remix ROM from the external SD and it's hung at 50% (for 10 mins now) - at the "Extracting /system..." stage. I daren't interrupt it.
Any ideas???
Yes stop messing
1: If you dint have to save anything, wipe better to full wipe
Flash a stock Rom using Odin, than start again with custom roms.
OR
2: download your custom Rom again and flash, might be corrupt download.

So it's OK to interrupt this ROM flash, even though it's stuck at 50%? Should I just hold the power button or remove the battery??
pull the battery
But I say flash stock Rom first, lengthy procedure I know, but safer
OK I decided to reflash RR 2.3, which had been running fine for a couple of weeks previously. Immediately after flashing (which worked OK) the boot process wouldn't complete - it got as far as the RR splash screen then died (screen blank, and needed a long press on the power button to restart).
This happened several times. Eventually I removed and replaced the battery and it finally booted.
Does this sound like a hardware problem? I've noticed that the phone often runs quite warm, but I don't know if that's normal.
You have to flash stock rom, only way to know if there is something wrong with your phone, run it for couple days.
Now to the heat issue, it is due to
1: modem
2: kernel
3: both

whole cellphone HOT when charging!! :(

i have just flashed [with odin3] my new galaxy s2 to Android Version 4.0.3

I have also recognized that behavior after flashing a new ROM or kernel.
Getting hot is normal, but getting "very" = extreme hot, so that the plastic phone case nearly smelts, is not normal.
It indicates that there is something "stressing" the phone.
In most cases, wiping cache and rebooting the phone helps.
So, try this:
1. Shut down the phone.
2. Charge the phone while it is turned off till 100% and let it plugged in for another 15 minutes.
3. Unplug the phone and pull out the battery for about 3 minutes.
4. Put the battery into the phone again and press Volume UP + Home + Power buttons until the recovery menu appears.
5. Select wipe cache, and if you have CWM recovery wipe Dalvik cache in Advanced folder too.
6. Then reboot the phone normally.
Hope this helps to get "normal" heating while charging the phone.
thnx man
hey thnx man , after i have folowed ur steps , it seems it has been fixed, been charging for like 15 min and its just al little hot [normal hot i think]
thnx man ,
btw do i have to keep clearing the cache after a while or just leave it from now on ?

Rooting gone wrong, help appreciated!

Hi,
I tried to root my phone and install jelly bean 4.1.1 rom but f*cked up.
I used the wrong rom (for Verizon S3) and soft bricked my phone.
Worked 3 hours to get it back to a functional state.
However, since this happened the following problems occur:
Overal performance is a lot less smooth, I installed a stock ROM + CWR.
When booting, it often has problems at the "Samsung" logo, laggs etc...
Worst: It takes about 2 seconds for the lock screen to pop up EVERY time I turn the screen on.
I made a video to clarify what I mean: (can't link because new on forum, search on youtube for "Slow unlock screen Samsung Galaxy S3"
This makes the phone pretty useless imo since it drives me crazy to wait this long for just the screen to pop up.
Any help would be appreciated.
What would be the best course of action?
Install a -as close to stock as possible- ROM and start over again?
Or can I just wipe whatever's on there and flash/install a new ROM?
Thanks in advance, I'm freaking out because I'm afraid I just threw away 500€
Few steps to possible recovery as I have faced the same problem before....
1. download any rom like OMEGA V19 put it in root of the external sd card.
2. boot in CWM
- factory reset
- wipe cache partition
- go to advance
- wipe dalvik cache
- wipe battery status
3. install the omega rom.
4. remove the battery
5. press VOL UP + home button + power key to enter CWM
- repeat step no. 2
6. reboot.
It should solve the problem buddy... and bring your phone to a normal state...
Find the official firmware for your region..from here
Unpack the zip and use the md5.tar file..
Boot your phone in Download mode..vol down+power+menu
Open Odin and select the tar file as PDA
Start..
If you are stuck at the boot screen..hold vol up+menu+power to go to stock recovery..wipe data factory reset from there then reboot..
Your phone will be as good as new..

Is my phone bricked?

I have the Huawei Ascend Mate (the new 6.1" smartphone that just came out in China)
I was trying to install a rooted ROM... well when it rebooted my phone it was stuck at the logo screen for like 15 minutes so I pulled the plug. Now the phone is in a continuous boot and it won't start up!
I can boot into Recovery Mode, but the phone restarts every 10 seconds with NO CONTROL over this time limit!
I downloaded the dload/UPDATE.app and put it on my sd card (this is the original ROM from Huawei's site) and it will start to do it's thing, but 10 seconds isn't enough to install a ROM.
Any ideas on how to get this 10 second reboot time limit off?
I'd appreciate anyone's help! I just dropped almost $600 on this phone and I feel like it's going to be a VERY expensive paperweight now
Can I do anything with boot.img, cust.img, system.img, etc? I have these files but not sure what I can do with them.
I didnt know that time limit
Can you do wipe data and cache and reboot
The stuck in logo or many times showing the logo reapeating its bootloop
Try wipe data and cache then reboot?

I've tried both! I can wipe cache fast enough, but that doesn't do anything.
When I try to do factory reset, or try to install the manufacture's ROM via their "UPDATE.app" file, my phone will only stay on for about 10 seconds before rebooting! I have no way of stopping my phone from rebooting.

Pepsi P1S corrupted eMMC?

Hello
Yesterday i have recieved the Pepsi (Koobee) P1S. it was full of bloatware so i decided to flash a modded rom. After i realized that this custom rom is only in english and chinese (Im German) i wanted to switch back to the original. But then i made the biggest mistake: I have flashed the false rom (CM for Mt6592 CPU but false Smartphone). After that i have flashed the right original rom again. but a strange Error appears: the Phone boot up normaly and then freeze and reboot by itself..over and over again. But not at the same step. Sometimes it freeze during the Bootanimation..sometimes it boot up completly and i can swipe through the Screens (for about 10 sec). When i push the standby button (Display went off) the Phone stays in this mode and dont freeze.
the i flashed TWRP and try to wipe the phone. Even in TWRP it freeze, but not during the wipes or in the Boot Mode slelect screen.
I Have a friend with the same phone. Is it possible to copy a complete backup (eMMC etc) to my phone? Or someone had a Idea what i can try next? I have flashed different roms (for this phone) so many times, but the error is still there.
Please help me.. It should be a present for my GF birthday today
SOLUTION
I downloaded the flashtool that flashes MTK Devices then searched google for Pepsi p1s needrom and downloaded the original firmware scatter file, turn off the P1S unplug it from USB,...Start the flashtool, and search the firmware will be second search bar select search and browse your computer for the firmware you downloaded from needrom, then you will see it load all the files.....there is a button bar that has an arrow open the arrow and select firmware update, then hit the green go button after you hit the green go button plug in your powered off PEPSI P1S ....it will give you a red bar on the flashtool at bottom first, then it will format your device properly, then install all the necissary files, its real quick about 3 minutes, after a box will pop up on the screen and say OK with a big check mark, at this point you can unplug your phone, power it up and wait about 3 minutes, everything will be normal again. So sorry I would post the links however I forgot my password and username that I was using for many years and forgot my recovery email as well.....so if you google it you can find the stuff, just hope I helped with the proper method of flashing......good luck, let me know how it goes.
Thanks but i know how to flash the firmware with SP Flash Tool. i have flashed the P1S with 3 different roms..but always the same error (freeze and reboot at different points)
Are you using download mode? Or firmware update? The reason I ask is download mode always gave me a bootloop, but when switched to firmware update mode it formats the device correctly and fixes the file structure, try firmware update mode.
Im using "Format All + Download"
Try using firmware update mode, let me know what happens.
same problem...freeze (at different points) ans reboot.
here you can see what happen:

try this! P1
power off
then hold power button + volume down
the boot mode will appear
select recovery
it will show you no command
then pres power button first and the press volume up
now you device is on recovery
then select
wipe data/factory reset.

I have noted one thing.
when I update supersu to play store and reboot it goes in bootloop.
so I recommend not to upgrade or even to make unroot just after removing apps with viruses
