hey nice review overall, i can see that the way you use your fingerprint scanner is wrong and that makes you say that it is a gimmick. you might want to check out the other video on busting the fingerprint scanner myths on max.

I just checked out the video you mentioned.
1) To be honest I disagree with the man. I personally hold the phone so that my pinky is below the bottom part, which prevents it from slipping out. For me that is the natural way of holding the device and when holding it in that way I can't comfortably reach the fingerprint scanner.
2) The second thing that I didn't like was the lack of functionality to lock access to certain apps, photos etc which would have been a very nice feature to be used with the fingerprint scanner.
3) I personally only used the fingerprint scanner for a while, as it seemed pointless to me.

Has anyone experiencing this problem, when my Album updated I can't use photo which I took with my Z2 ( superior auto mode 8mp) for background without a massive crop. This is example picture. Only this which is marked in square will be on background all this shaded black won't be on background. Before that last album update it asked me to crop pictures before setting them on background but not this much. Also is there any app which does not need croping before setting picture as background because if it's taken with my Z2 why it can't fit on home background?

Description:
sigma Kernel is project inspired from my previous kernels and drivers.
sigma Kernel is shipped with crDroid ROM and this topic is started for discussions only on kernel.
The main objective is to provide max stability without any snake-oil drivers that doesn't add value and to keep minimal footprint.
No extra hotplugs / no OC-UC / no extra governors for good - except for features highlighted below.
This should work on any LOS-based nougat ROM and most AOSP nougat ROMs.

USB Tethering didn't work on crDroidAndroid-7.1.2-20170622-shamu-v3.4 and sigmaKernel_shamu_v7.1. Using the same ROM and FrancoKernel r68 however has USB Tethering working fine.
Sound doesn't work... patch for sound doesn't help... ROM - BeansTalk.

Faux app should work good.

Been using it since released of 4pda. Love this ROM. Great battery, great performance. Really one of the best. This is recommended!
Can i flash it with Odin? I kinda screwed up my phone and i can only reach Download mode, not the TWRP one.

I got this solved. I flashed the recovery image from Odin. Did an Odin flash earlier with a wrong official ROM and screwed up the phone. But i got TWRP back and flashed it. THanks.

I have a few bugs to report:
1. if you activate Always on screen, you might end up with a buggy screen after you lock your device. A reboot solves it until you lock it again.
2. Private mode does not work. Although it asks for a pattern/PIN, you cannot turn it on afterwards.
3. Iris Scanner doesn't work.
4. Samsung Pay will obviously not work since you have a rooted device and Knox has been tripped
5. Face Recognition is a bust (but i cannot expect much from that since i might lack the hardware that does that)

What about ROM speed/fluidity ? does it lag sometimes like other S8 Roms ? also how about the S8 camera included, is it stable ?
BTW, the iris scanner will never work due to missing sensor, so it would be better if removed completely from the settings

After 3 weeks with this Rom, I can report that it's one of my favorites Rom. Everything works like a charm (except the new Samsung internet app (or it's just me ?)). The only main problem is battery life, I have to charge phone after 3h SoT, even with maritos kernel. I use as daily driver btw

I have found a fix for the buggy screen with AOD, go to AOD settings, click on the clock that you want and set a background, it will work (hit thank if it helped)

I can tell you that, after 2 months of official 7.0.0 on this phone, this ROM is heaven for me. I does not lag, everything opens as expected, except the things i mentioned above, the camera does its job, though i haven't recorded a video yet, but the pictures and flash are not crashing the software.
And yes, i would remove features that cannot be used in this phone. They are misleading and useless without their respective hardware.

I don't have a problem with the battery, then again i did not change the kernel. I lack the knowledge on how to set it up properly. But i can argue that battery life on this ROM allows me to use the phone for one full day (on/off) instead of a few hours on stock.

Could you please extract some from OnePlus 8 T Cyberpunk edition?

So..when trying to install the most recent one it fails. APKMirror says due to old v1 signature, but doesn't give a way to bypass that (just some surfacely details). Can anyone explain hwo to install it anyway or where I find the information? Google just spits out infos for devs and their own apps.
