hello,
As far as i understood online, the Amazfit GTS only supports NFC in the Chinese market.
What does this mean? I believe that NFC uses the same frequency worldwide, hence this should not be a hardware limitation.
Do you know if Amazfit has added Worldwide NFC for their previous models?
All Amazfit watches have NFC disabled in the International versions (Verge, GTR, GTS). Even if you can set a Chinese Verge to English, its apps suport only Chinese services, so it is useless anyway. AFAIK there is no way to use NFC outside China.
that sucks, totally takes the biggest value away from this watch, i'll just stick with my BIP then, less than half the price.

thanks dear
so which version is better the version with NFC or with-out NFC ??
It depends. Do you have a use for, or intend to use NFC? If so then that is the better one. However the device with NFC will probably be slightly thicker.
If you have no need for NFC, no desire to use NFC, then it doesn't matter. If you want NFC functionality then obviously the one with it is better.
Supposedly NFC is going to be rolled out big-time around the UK just before the Olympics, but at present there is almost no where to use it.
Here is a BBC article detailing some of how NFC is used in Japan where it is widespread. At the moment however it is much less common throughout the rest of the world.

If you are a tweaker, and like to create custom tools to aid you, having NCF means you can create custom NCF cards to make life easier (in theory).
If you are not, you will have to see how wide-spread NCF are in your country, region, area, town, whatever. As of now, NCF technology is only widely used in Japan (for years).
For me, I don't really care.
Has anyone figured out if It is possible to activate NFC as the specs state there is NFC however nothing on mine.
Thanks
No NFC on Zenfone Max Pro M2
I wish to follow this thread too. I heard that there is NFC in this model in certain regions but not here in Indonesia and Malaysia. Does that mean that the phone has the NFC chip but is disabled here? Is there a way to activate it?
Why would they disable NFC for phones sold in Malaysia and Singapore? NFC payment terminals for goggle pay is found in almost every shop here. I think it's left out to cut costs?

Hi~
I got GTR 42mm global version one month ago.
I heard that the 47mm version can be modify to support local language(Korean) in SMS, unofficially.
and then I compare the two font firmwares(.ft) as 42mm and 47mm global version.
It's totally different. the 47mm font firmware(ft) size is over 8M.
but 42mm .ft is less 0.5M.
I can not understand this situation.
So, I want to get the chinese firmware in order to compare and analysis them.
If Someone know how to get it, Let me know it plz!!
I have a question is possibile turn on 5g on my country i bought these phone from Germany in review i hear these phone not support 5g in my country.
Nope, as far as I can tell, there is no such possibility to enable 5G here.
Unfortunately google locked 5G only to certain countries (those few where phone is sold plus few others mainly from western europe). You can see the list here:
Pixel Phone Simulator
support.google.com
For older pixels there was way to unlock 5G with root but for pixel 6 this is not possible for now. Whole logic here is totally beyond me. If you will lock the phone then lock it only to the operator who sells it and it is done. If you will allow it to be used worldwide what is the point leave 4G unlocked and lock only the 5G? This is especially true when we speak about EU - you allow it in some countries and not in other which defies the whole purpose of EU being free trade and free movement of people. I sent feedback to google about this. You can do the same. Maybe if enough people complain they will remove this stupid lock.
My guess is Google has received radio approvals in only some countries and per local regulatory processes they cannot legally activate 5G in countries where they do not have approvals.
Hi everyone. I'm an American who lived in China for a long time, and bought a Samsung Note 20 5G (SM-G9810) a few months before I moved back to the US last year. Yesterday, the touchscreen stopped working, so I'm only able to use it via the stylus. I tried *#2663# to update the TSP FW, but the version as "NA" and won't update. I backed up everything to my PC and was going to try a factory reset.
The official Samsung store I bought it from in Shenzhen told me it had no restrictions on Google apps and would be 100% customizable, but that ended up not being the case; the search functions and everything else on it defaults to Baidu or other Chinese services, news updates are all from Xinhua in Chinese, extolling the unassailable greatness of Xi Jinping Thought, etc. I put all the Google apps on, but some of the integration is lacking and it has always had some annoying little hiccups, and some of the bloatware that it came with can't be removed.
I noticed the HK and Taiwan versions of the Note 20 5G are the same model code and also use the same chipset (9810 with Snapdragon, vs G981F/B/etc with Exynos for the rest of the world), and the updates for the 9810 are available for those three places. Am I correct in thinking that if I reset it with the HK or Taiwan firmware via Odin, then I shouldn't have to deal with Mainland bloatware and apps, since they don't have the same regional restrictions?
I'm thinking about buying an N9860, did you ever get this figured out?
