Oops! Wrongly flashed my HTC with AT&T! - AT&T HTC One (M8)

I accidentally flashed my new unlocked HTC One with the Cingular RUU and now I cant use it for data on UK network (Dumb I know, but AT&T was just the first one on the list!). Assuming this makes sense, can anyone advise how to overwrite it? I've got the Brightstar RUU to use instead but it wont overwrite. Thanks.

G2 Touch Stock RUU?

I've been trying to root my G2 Touch and have used the goldcard method.
I can only find the latest tmobile RUU (2.73) which can't be rooted!
Is there anywhere the stock (1.73) tmobile RUU is?
Regards
Signed update zip is here>> http://www.4shared.com/file/133081624/c5e35fa0/update-hero-t-mobile-1761106-s.html if any good.
Is there a reason for you to use goldcard on your G2? On mine (got at end of last month), it was the original unlocked 1.73 version, and it had an unlocked bootloader, allowing me to use fastboot to boot a custom recovery image (AmonRA) and then do a nandroid backup before flashing an update.zip
Presuming you need to use goldcard, I would have thought that a generic HTC version would have done. So long as it is 1.73, I think it would work fine, since the purpose of the goldcard (IIRC) is to ignore the carrier id and let you install the stock HTC ROM onto the device. From there you could root and flash the recovery partition to allow installation of custom roms.
So in conclusion-
-You might not actually need to use a goldcard, but if you do,
-Give the generic HTC 1.73 ROM a shot
BTW, I haven't personally tried this, so hopefully someone who knows a bit more about this can confirm if this would work, but I reckon it should. If possible, take a nandroid backup first, but this might be a bit difficult if fastboot doesn't work for you.

worked perfectly for me
You're using a tmobile G2 Touch right? I'm sure I tried this and it brought up the [131] customer ID error lol.. I'll try again though Thanks
yep i am, long story short i had a problem with and i had to apply the official so i could send it back to tmob for repair and once i got it back, i started to follow the video done by lockr and i got the [131] customer ID error when trying to use stock (1.73) ruu, saw the forum post use that ruu worked perfectly
I still got [131] error...
Where did you find the stock (1.73) RUU? The only one I can find is the 2.73, which is my current one.
i didn't use the 1.73 ruu, i used the 2.73 and i used that ruu i'm sorry that i can't help you :-(
Arr okay no worries I'll just wait until the 2.1 rom is released and hope that has some holes in! Thanks for trying
How about one of the first 2 RRUs from this page?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=559622
None of the WWE RUU's seem to work... Only the tmobile one :/
Sounds like the goldcard isn't working properly
It is what makes any old RRU work, as it disables the Carried ID check which means only T-Mobile RRUs work for you. Seems strange...
Personally, I'd try making the goldcard again.
Yea I made the Goldcard twice on the same SD, so maybe its the SD card thats the problem... I try using some others I have somewhere
Iirc, the default micro SD card (2gn) that came with the phone works correctly. I've had a think and I reckon the goldcard is definitely the problem, as a working goldcard will accept any try file, such as the one I referenced before.
Give that a shot and if you have trouble, just try other cards until it works, but I reckon the stock card is your best bet for now. The HTC 1.73 rru should work after that.
I never recieved the stock 2gb card as I bought off an eBay seller...
But lucikily I had one lying about and created the goldcard and loaded the WWE RUU sucessfully, Thanks for your advice!

Radio Guide for HTC Amaze

Hey y'all. There should be two radios now. The T-Mobile and the Tellus. Wind should have another radio altogether. Could the powers that be please pull radio.img files and start up a quick guide on how to unlock the boot loader and flash radios. I am happy to contribute, but I'm new to HTC. I am running a T mobile phone on a Canadian network - I assume that a radio designed for here would work better (wrong or right).
My Baseband is 1.07.550L.04DC_20.64.550L.07D
Thanks.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you have to have s-off to be able to flash a radio?
I flashed radios on my 3g slide and didn't have s - off
correct me if im wrong but if its an official radio, ex- signed update - s-off is there to check if its got official signature, it should be allowed to flash
I don't know much about HTC. I owned a nexus S and flashed a few radios with fastboot and adb. It helped alot through the search bug issue.
I see this full roms availble now
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1335703
The question is what will happen if I flash another providers ROM on top of my fully stock T-Mobile. The guide suggests that you just copy it onto an SD card on a fully locked phone and Voila. There doesn't seem to be an indication of someone switching ROM's ie. Tmobile to Wind. There are a few that tried the Telus Rom but no indication that it's worked for anyone yet.

I'm pretty sure you have to have SuperCID to flash another carrier's ROM, and you can't get that without full radio S-Off. The current HTC unlock method doesn't allow us to flash radio images, as well as other little things like splash screens. Until full S-Off is achieved, I don't think we'll be able to do any radio switching.
So would a carrier be able flash their ROM onto a phone - ie. walk into my provider and have them flash their software and CID information onto the phone - or better yet - could HTC theoretically change my CID information directly?

[Q] Is there an Optus Stock Ruu for Evo 3d Gsm available

Hi,
I'm just interested in trying to revert my Evo 3D back to stock, however all i can find anywhere is Virgin and Vodaphone. I'm aware that both these carriers are linked to optus somehow, but due to my CID being OPTUS001, no updates through hboot work, they all say Incorrect CID, because nothing has that CID in the android-info.txt. I've tried to edit the text in the zip then put it back in with 7-Zip, however its say something about the operation not being implemented. If anyone can help id be very grateful.
Thank you.
Ignore this Juopunutbear has a brilliant solution to this, with all cids, including Optus branded one. Just make to be on a stock rom.

[Q] How to find out which is the rite stock ROM for my HTC EVO 3D

Hi, I recently bought a used HTC EVO 3D, it was running on stock rom and i used a GSM connection on that. on switching on wifi it gave me OTA for ICS 4.0.3 which i installed and was working fine. later i unlocked it rooted it and installed recovery even. tried installing a custom rom and now it is in boot loop. I want to switch back to its stock ROM.
Now the problem is that i live in pakistan and this cell reached here after unlocking network code, i dont have its box so dont know which cellphone service company it was on, there is no print of any service provider on the body of set as well, I just have its IMEI, S/N and P/N thats it.. so can someone guide me that which RUU i should download for my set... i remember when i was unlocking it, it was on HBOOT 1.53. i even dont know its an GSM model or CDMA... but i know i was using GSM on that
Did you make a nandroid backup after installing the custom recovery?
Does the phone have a sim card?
It's probably gsm since you are in Pakistan and since its network unlocked I don't think it matters which ruu you choose as long as its the gsm version. I might be wrong though, I'm cdma.

No that was my mistake that i didnt backup that. yes phone has sim card and it was working previously. I have tried three different RUU but all of them said incorrect RUU version. now i dont know which one to download from that long list
http://www.filefactory.com/file/2hw...00U_11.25.3504.06_M_release_262714_signed.exe
have you tried this RUU? the unbranded phones in pakistan usually come from europe. i think this should work.
relock your bootloader first though

Installing TMobile ROM on an AT&T branded phone

I have an at&t branded phone. I recently switched to T-Mobile and would like to get T-Mobile ROM installed on it.
I started with a phone which was NOT rooted, had stock AT&T rom.
I have done the following so far:
*
Unlocked my boot loader - worked flawlessly
Installed TWRP - worked flawlessy
Attempted to install Super SU - I think it worked
Attempted to install a T-Mobile ROM - Getting a "Error flashing zip" error
I download official T-Mobile ROM installer from HTC website. I let the installer run until I saw "Rom.zip" in the temp folder.
A website on google told me that i can use this file to flash my phone. I did have some doubts about this file as I am able to unzip only half the file's contents using winrar. But anyways, I went ahead and used this ROM file.
I rebooted my phone in Recovery mode (TWRP). I clicked on Install and selected rom.zip from my SD Card. When I attempt to install rom.zip, I received following messages:
Installing '/external_sd/tmobile_rom.zip'
Checking for MD5 file...
Skipping MD5 check: no MD5 file found
Error flashing zip 'external_sd/tmobile_rom.zip'
Updating partition details...
....done
I tried a few different ROM's I found on the internet with the same error message.
So now I am stuck with no OS on the phone. I can only go to bootloader or TWRP.
If someone can suggest a more appropriate ROM file, I can give that a try.
S-on or s-off?
I don't think you just want the T-Mob ROM, I think you also want the T-Mobile firmware, including the T-Mob radios. At least, that would probably be my recommendation.
That being the case, the best way to do that is probably run the entire T-Mobile RUU (not just the ROM.zip). But that would also require you to change to the T-Mob CID and MID.
S-off is required for that (which is why I asked) so if you are still s-on, you will need to get the phone up and running again (AT&T RUU may be the easiest way - relock bootloader first) than run sunshine s-off.
So in short, what I would suggest:
1) If s-on, get an OS back on the phone, so you can boot normally
2) (again, if still s-on) run sunshine to get s-off
3) Change to T-Mobile CID and MID
4) Run T-Mobile RUU
5) Beer
This gets your phone to a stock T-Mobile software state. Essentially a T-Mobile M8, in everything except the stupid AT&T planet logo on the back of the phone. This means you will even get any future OTAs meant of the T-Mobile M8.
I'm gathering from your post this is what you want (stock T-Mob setup). If not, you need to specify what exactly you are trying to do.
I have s-on. Yes, I want the full T-Mobile firmware...mixing up my terms as I am new to this.
Since I don't have an OS right now, I will first try to restore to AT&T firmware by using the stock RUU on htc website. If that's successful, I will proceed with rest of the steps.

So I was able to get back to AT&T firmware using below steps:
booted my phone to boot fastboot mode
I re-locked my bootloader using following command: fastboot oem lock
I download the AT&T HTC One M8 Stock RUU
Ran the installation until my firmware was flashed again
I am just so happy to have a phone that works now. I will continue soon with the rest of your instructions to get T-Mobile firmware.

After spending few hours, I have successfully installed T-Mobile firmware on my AT&T M8.
I pretty much followed your instructions. For anyone else looking to this this, here are the complete instructions.
Unlocked boot loader
Installed TWRP recovery
Installed Super User
Changed to T-Mobile CID
Changed to T-Mobile MID
Used sunshine to get Security Off (paid $25)
Ran official HTC M8 T-Mobile RUU
And now I am enjoying a beer
Thanks redpoint73 for your helpful reply.

I think this is slightly out of sequence. You need to s-off before changing CID and MID. CID and MID cannot be modified with s-on.
wouldnt a simple rom without the firmware provide wifi calling?

Yes. But this thread is from last May, when I think having the 3G AWS band was more of an issue than it is now.
