Huawei P20 lite problem - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I'm new here so sorry for question if something like that is already answered somewhere.
I bought used Huawei P20 lite, in package got the original box, phone, bill, warranty , headphones and charger. All seems right until i tryed to turn it on. It is locked on the google account that is used by first owner. I tryed to conntact him but no success in that.
Now what to do? Should I go to the service with bill and warranty to unlock it or there is some tutorial or something to unlock it from home.
Thank you in advance and greetings from Croatia.

O2 SIM in a T-Mobile AMEO

Hello all.
This is my first post on this forum so forgive me for being a noob! I have searched this forum and the web, but couldn't find help for my prediciment so, here goes.
I've got an O2 3G SIM. I originally got the SIM & contract with an ORBIT2. I lost the bloody ORBIT2! No insurance
So I bought a standard T-Mobile AMEO from a geezer on ebay. Happy Days!
I had the IMEI unlocked
I ran AthenaUnlocker.exe and followed the instructions for this
I downloaded AP DUAL 3.0 ROM with add-ins
I followed the instructions to upgrade the ROM
I got O2 to unlock my SIM
All was good when I rebooted. The screen looked good, I had all 4 bars of GSM connectivity showing, and I had a G next to it. I ran the O2 software to configure the device and rebooted.
It all went tits up when I tried to make a call. Nothing, no error or anything, just wouldn't ring.
Then I tried to connect to internet and got error message;
"Answering modem disconnected" then notification;
"Problem connecting to GPRS network"
1. Is this me putting in the wrong settings?
2. Is the AMEO just incompatible with anything other than T-Mobile?
3. Is my O2 SIM not behaving?
4. Am I obsessed with numbered lists?
Hope someone can help! Any advice would be much appreciated
Not sure what you mean...
1. I had the IMEI unlocked -IMEIs are not locked - they can be blocked if the device has been stolen but then they can't be unblocked - what do you mean? How did you do this?
5. I got O2 to unlock my SIM - as per 1 above, a SIM can't be locked - what do you mean?
Did you try the SIM bedor upgrading the ROM? It should have worked as T-Mobile don't lock their phones.
Does the SI< work in any other phone?
Thanks for the reply. Sorry if I don't know the correct terminology. I've got to admit I know next to nothing about phones!
1. I got the SIM and the phone at the same time. When I put the SIM in the phone it said SimLock and had a code window to enter a code. I thought this was the SIM code, so entered this, but it kept saying 'wrong code'. I then searched the internet and found www.deblocage-htc.com. I gave them my IMEI number, they sent me the code that opened the phone up.
5. O2 sent me the SIM as a replacement for my lost SIM. They put a lock on the SIM when I reported it lost.
I wasn't aware that T-Mobile didn't lock the phone! I wouldn't have bothered to change the ROM. The ROM does look good though, so I'd be happy to keep it, if I could get it to work.
I didn't try it before I installed the AP DUAL 3.0 ROM. Wish I had now. Do you think the ROM is to blame? I've search the web for a couple of days now and not found a similar case.
I'm gonna get my wifes old orange phone unlocked to try the SIM in that.
If it said SimLock then it was locked - you didn't pay to unlock it though, did you? It sounds like a problem with the unlocker.
download the unlocker from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=315831 and run all three steps and let us know if it works.
Then demand your money back from the idiots you paid...
So are you saying that i've probably bought a stolen phone? I haven't bought a stolen phone, I've got evidence to support this. I know the email address of the guy on ebay. he's had the account for a few years, paypal account etc. Although it was simlocked I could still see the files on the phone. The guy had left his CV on there with his email address etc. So it was his phone.
Anyway, yes I did pay to unlock it. Was that stupid? I used the unlocking software after I unsimlocked it!
I've got it working now anyway, it was O2 that hadn't lifted the bar on the sim.

[Help] I'm having issues getting a bootloader unlock code from Huawei, help!?

Hi all,
I'm in a bit of a predicament and I am hoping that someone here can help me out.
I am located in the US. I imported a Mate 10 ALP-L29 from Hong Kong about a month ago. I have tried probably 30+ times to get a bootloader unlock code from Huawei with no luck. I've been using this website: https://www.emui.com/en/unlock_detail
I log in.
I enter Since EMUI 5.0. I enter the serial, enter the IMEI (I have tried both), Then I enter the product ID. I write in the CAPTCHA, hit enter, and I am met with: If you have any questions about the unlock code application, please contact us.
I tried to contact them but the email address on the site is invalid. I contacted the US customer service. They told me that they are aware of issues and to try again later. I read on here that another person had luck using UK support so I tried them. They told me to contact Hong Kong Support. I contacted Hong Kong Support who told me that they cannot provide an unlock code.
I signed up under a different email claiming to be from Hong Kong. Same result.
I thought maybe Chrome was possibly at fault so I tried on Firefox, and Microsoft Edge on my PC,. No luck. I tried on Firefox Focus and Chrome on my phone. No luck.
I feel like I am running out of time, and I specifically purchased this phone so that I could unlock it and use either Lineage OS or another rom. I only have a few days left. Can anyone think of anything that I am doing wrong or can recommend any ways to get a code. Does anyone here want to give it a shot? If you are able to get an unlock code for me, I would happily make a donation to XDA or your paypal. I really don't want to use a 3rd party service unless I am forced to.
Thanks for any help!
I had a similar issue getting an unlock code last year, turns out something was wonky with my huawei account. Made a new one and I got a code just fine. This might not be the case for you, but you can give it a shot?
I tried that once and said that I was registering in Hong Kong. I'll try that again tomorrow. Where did you register out of?
Be sure to pick up the pace with getting your bootloader unlock code. The service will close in a couple days if I'm not mistaken or outdated. (Hopefully I am outdated and they will keep the service up)
Someone helped me out this morning. I got the unlock and I'll probably install Lineage OS or something else in a few weeks when I have a good bit of downtime.
Hi,
How did you get help?
I tried contacting the support but every time they just told me that the service was working even though it is clearly not working for my ALP L29.
Thanks

Help, Mi Account

So my friend told me that his redmi note 4 snapdragon version had very bad battery backup, I checked his phone and found too many applications and weired fonts installed. I told him that hard reset can help with battery backup problem. So I entered into recovery mode and erased all data. But when phone rebooted, it asked for mi account password to activate the phone. Problem is that he doesn't have any phone number or email address associated with that Mi account number. He is a total noob so don't know when and who had created his mi account. I thought it would be an easy process but since I have always used Motorola phones and rooted them with twrp so I have no knowledge about other brands. Any solution to bypass mi account activation process??
PS- We have original bill of the phone and finally will go Mi Service Center but it would be great if someone from XDA community share his expertise because phone is in really bad condition, duplicate screen not properly placed, headphone jack not working, scratches, bad battery, it's not worth even 40$ now and customer service may charge more than that!
Well thats bad news lol. I do not think you can do anything except ask the service center or the previous owner the mi account. Mi account is like google account lock if you do not know the original account that was used for the phone, it will stay locked.

Friend Managed to Trigger Google FRP on his Dad's Phone. Is it Bricked?

So what happened was my friend's father couldn't remember his PIN. So my friend booted into recovery and reset the phone, a Samsung A70. When it started back up Google Factory Reset Protection kicked in and requires either the original PIN (forgotten) or the gmail password ... which he cannot remember.
The only access to the account is an old Samsung Note that is still logged into the Google account, so emails can be checked. Other than that: no access.
Went into the local samsung Authorized Repairers, who referred us to Samsung, who said they would not help because the phone was bought overseas, not that they confirmed that they COULD help if it was bought here. The dad is not planning any overseason holidays so not sure if they phone could ever make it back to a local Samsung dealer.
In other words: the perfect storm of dealing with parent's technology.
Is the phone bricked and/or only option flashing a Google free ROM?
Is there anyway to unlock the device with ODIN?
Now I am not sure if it can be flashed without logging in to unlock bootloader ... so maybe it is bricked

Is there any point to purchase a unlock code for a huawei p30 lite?

Got this phone as a gift from my dad, and was exhilarated because my old phone was starting to disfunction,
had battery leakage problems and just had became a pain to use.
While the Huawi p30 lite is globally a good phone, the functionalities that I got used to thanks to 5 years of root
are starting to really miss me. I heard that I could buy a code (to unlock bootloader) from funky huawei, global unlocking and others
but don't know if there is any valuable content available post-root for this phone specifically.
Any custom rom/kernel, cool mod, etc.
And all around would it be worth it?
Thank you

You cannot buy unlock codes any longer, Huawei stopped giving them out, and other sites do not work regardless of their claims
So you are stuck with any new Huawei with no root

He's not talking about FRP unlock for lost or stolen phones, he's talking about bootloader unlock code.
you should use paid tools to unlock it
