I create this thread to track the issue and want to get any idea and fix on the random reboot of CM10 series (it looks the Cm10.1 also has this issue).
One major problem is reading the CPU OM file (/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/stats/time_in_state, please find the details reporting in below link). This problem can be fixed in framework.jar by increasing the buffer. I have done for it and the frequency of reboot is down. But still have some random reboots....., disappointed.
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=9733
Remaining reboots will cause the screen in yellow and then reboot. Please find the details in below two links (one is reporting to CM bug tracking, but no one take care of it.).
https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/CYAN-388
http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/61997-cm10-freeze-yellow-screen-reboot-issue/
Also find someone had already reported this issue in XDA (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2301552) but cannot get the answer..., disappointed.
The problem is how to get the log for this issue? It will break logcat working since the reboot running.
Is there any idea or suggestion for this issue. Thank you so much!!!
If you want a log after a reboot, the file last_kmsg is used. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2093987
Good luck with your endeavor.
A bug report from 2011 is very unlikely relevant to recent ROMs, for one, unless you know for sure this buffer bug is still an issue and is not otherwise accounted for. And the 'yellow screen reboot' could be any number of things, but feel free to get something like a USB serial device going and really do some debugging on it.
You can be disappointed all you want, patches welcome...
* - Let's seperate out the bugs.
* - Stock only please. If you're running a custom ROM - DO NOT POST HERE.
* - This isn't a help thread about installing updates...
* - If you think you found a bug it is VITALLY important you list steps to reproduce the bug.. If others can't reproduce it.. It's not a bug.
* - Also do not report anything if you have GEL installed. GEL is not "stock" for the N10 and any problems are not KRT160 problems.
Bugs
-----------------------
Please star and confirm it there if you can to get this item noticed:
1. Nexus 10 - KRT160 - Homescreen not redrawing Google Search if you flick items off instead of dragging to remove
2. Settings force close if you have evernote installed and click on its icon in settings and clicking the Evernote account
I always wanted to reserve..
Bug #1 has also been confirmed on the Nexus 7 Original.

Hey developers.. Would you consider this an Android problem or a developers app not compatible with 4.4 problem?
I would report this to the app developer. He will be able to file a more detailed bug report if not fix it himself
I cannot drag and drop app icon from App drawer to the Home screen. Every time I try this I just load the app. It doesn't matter for how long I'm holding the app icon. Maybe this is due to the low battery, which is doubtful. Reboot doesn't help. Please kindly let me know if I'm not the only one with such weirdness.
This is definitely some malfunction since per Android 4.4 User Guide (http://www.google.com/help/hc/images/android/android_ug_42/Android-Quick-Start-Guide.pdf):
To add an app icon to a Home screen:
1. Go to the Home screen where you want to place the app.
2. Touch theAll Apps icon.
3. Swipe from right to left, if necessary, to find the app you want.
4. Touch & hold the app until the Home screen appears, slide it into place, and lift your finger
Edit:
Found out that this only happens when the device is plugged with USB cable. Maybe this is a feature not a bug...

styckx,
Just a small suggestion for the bug list. Rather than have a raw URL link please make the subject title the URL link. For example the first bug:
Nexus 10 - KRT160 - Homescreen not redrawing Google Search if you flick items off instead of dragging to remove
In this way your list will be is easier to scan. Thanks for creating this thread.
Done.. ?

Has anyone noticed that since the upgrade to 4.4 that your device is staying awake? Seems to be caused by Android system. It doesn't sleep anymore and it's draining my battery because of this. Anyone found out what the problem is? I read on another forum that it's being caused by the Google Keyboard that is shipped with 4.4, if I change the keyboard with the 1,2,3 layout, will this solve the battery drain issue? This is weird man......
Thanks for the replies!

Haven't had a look at battery stats or anything but I got over 6 hours screen on time yesterday, so I can't say i've got a problem with battery life
Here's a screenshot I made. To verify it, I disabled the keyboard for a moment, and indeed, the device went to sleep. I then re-enabled the keyboard and again the device won't sleep! Without use I lost 5% of my battery in just 30 minutes. Anyone knows how I can update the keyboard with the newest version?
I think I solved the problem. I turned off Hotword detection under Google Now settings, and then Voice. Seems to have done the trick! Now when the screen is switched off the device goes to sleep. This is weird though, it should switch off when the screen is off but it doesn't! So, I think this is a legitimate bug that needs fixing! Can someone give this a try and report back if this solution helped?

Well, more than 20 hours later and looks like turning off Hotword detection solved the battery drain issue.....
I'm not sure if this is a kitkat bugit might be just a google search bug but when i try to set a reminder ussing google now it says cant connect to google. Can anyone test this to confirm it?
Hi
I know how sensitive and defensive folk are on here to questions about CM so will word this carefully.
I have CM11 on my Ace 5830i and working ok. There are just two issues I have:
1. For whatever reason I can’t get handcent sms to work. You install, use once or twice and then the app crashes when you try to run (screen fragments in front of you). Such a shame as great app and works fine on stock.
2. For whatever reason the android keyboard does'nt have the enter (right arrow) positioned as default in bottom right corner. You have to toggle to change from smiley face.
Not major issues, just irritations.
Have googled and find no precedent for this.
Thanks for your time Simon (succinct) Sudbury
One of my irritations here is that the Quick Settings button (top-right corner) disappears when returning from landscape mode or after Trebuchet restarts. (I once got a SystemUI FC and when it recovered, the bug triggered for some reason). This bug happened on SGS2 at some point too but it got fixed yesterday.

Relevance to issue? (even more succinct)
Just disappointing that we have irritations of this nature. Sort of undermines value of installing CM11 in first place.

CM11 still has major bugs which means its not 100% stable for daily use, so i dont think anyone will focus on these small bugs.
CM11 IS stable for daily use, but the bugs it has doesn't affect that fact. Remember, this is not CM9, which is still unstable (audio, Wi-Fi and calls not working properly).

Where do you find the latest build?
http://download.androidarmv6.org/_builds/cooperve/
Latest build is 20141025 nightly.
That's the version I have. Biggest bugbear is not being able to use handcent. Thought someone would have found a workaround for that.

CM11 needs a bit more stability since some apps FC randomly. But not everyone wants to go back to stock for CM7.2. From what I've read, Gingerbread is going to be deprecated by early 2015.
So I like the big battery in this phone, but I hate that when I open an app, and it loads (facebook for example), then I get an incoming email, so I tap the notification to open and read my email, the phone closes/ends my fb app. When I go back to fb, it re-launches the app all over again. It's annoying when I'm in the middle of something, and it'll force-close and lose everything I was typing. I've enabled dev options, and see an option in there for apps "Don't keep activities" (destroy every activity as soon as the user leaves it) which sounds like exactly what is happening, but this option is disabled. I've disabled every possible battery saver option I can find.
Anyone know where else to look? You wouldn't think it'd be a big thing, but it's really annoying having to spend extra time re-launching every single app as opposed to just switching between them already launched.
Thanks in advance!

I am using Ruthless Pixel launcher, from here xda, and I haven't got this problem. May be you have to disable the DuraSpeed from Settings.
Bye!
I tried a different launcher. I'll try the one you use. I've even had problems with the launcher having to "restart" and when I go back to the homescreen, it takes several seconds for that to load.
same problem here, every battery saver option disabeled, duraspeed off, and everything that i need to to i did in the developer options, but literally every app reboots after i switch to an other. any news on how to get rid of it?
I've switched between several different launchers. This isn't a launcher problem. It's a phone software problem.

I'm running Nova Launcher and see what you're talking about...if you leave a Facebook post you're working on open, then go to research something else, even though the draft post is there on screen when you scroll for it, the post will close and re-open before you can edit it again, wiping out the draft. A bug that needs to be fixed, indeed. The weirder thing is, after looking at it some more, is that it isn't easy to consistently replicate. Weird, indeed.

So I packaged my phone up last night and shipped it back this morning. But a buddy of mine MAY have figured out how to make it work. Go to Duraspeed and ENABLE it. Then ENABLE the apps (or all apps) that you want to STAY ALIVE in the background. See if that allows them to all run, yeah, like making a fb post type thing. Report back. I may have to go buy it again!
I have ZimLX and no issue with background apps.

That only helps a little bit, if you switch between tw games, or a game than check facebook and then whatzapp, the game resets. Also if you like switch to 3 different apps, they usually reset and get force closed from the systhem.
Also if you turn on duraspeed, youtube vanced gets forceclosed, even when it is allowed in duraspeed.
So what i do right now is enable duraspeed and the app that i want and whenever i wanna hear music in the background, i have to disable duraspeed.
Also, it is a real dealbreaker right now, it´s just way to buggy.
it seems like they programmed a way too harsh task kille in on purpose to give a longe battery life.

Not true, everyone has these problems nomather what launcher, it is a software problem.
Usually everyone has tryed to disable duraspeed of course and whatnot.
This problem/bug is really annoying. It makes me hate the phone to be honest.
How/who do we report this too?
Try here - https://community.umidigi.com/forum.php?mod=forumdisplay&fid=210
From what I've seen, Umidigi employees monitor and are active in their Forums, so hopefully someone will pay attention.

obviously we habe the lastest rom and every user has that problem it is a rom problem.
Also, what is a zim xl, google gives nothing about that.
I had a few apps do screwy things with the powersaver on , and it would be a few. Kroger app would crash and would not work until you uninstall and reinstall it. Att Uverse app, when you login it give a message about allow permissions, it had all, anything that need the gps. if I turn off the power saver I do not have those issues.

[Edit]Actually this doesn't work well. A couple posts down is my fix that works.
I logged in after a while to post this! This is a reply to you and op and anyone else having this "problem". Thanks to this forum post, I found a solution. I think it's an ingenious design they created. If you want every app to run in the background, *enable Duraspeed and enable all apps* in the top right corner. Then, *Reboot your phone*.
After you do this, the phone will magically be as fast as it should again. It's like I rebought a phone 100x better then what I was using .
The ingenious part of it is, if you don't want certain apps running in the background then Disable them! (you'll probably have to reboot for any change to be applied)
I love this design and I am now back in love with my Umidigi F1 , hope this helps everyone.
i sold it like 3 months ago and fixed a broken note 9 for cheap. my friend who owns the f1 since then still has this issue even when he tried your fix.
also another friend who owns a f1 play has this issue since the last update he had, he even newly installed / whiped it and so on, seems like umidigi just has problems with theis software and also it seems like it only affects a few people.

Hello, I agree. The fix wasn't 100%.
So here is the official fix, and once again it makes sense. (You might have to enable developer mode)
Go to your apps/notifications in settings, select an app, under the app click advanced, Battery, then battery Optimizations. Under that page go through your apps and disable optimizations for apps you want to stay on in the background.
Found this out and it works.
Actually figured it out once I read your post
If it doesn't work, reboot your phone.
Still doesn't work, do this along with duraspeed on the selected apps.
Still doesn't work, might just be the app. (Some of my games still don't stay in memory)
It's working good for me now, but if I wanted more apps to stay open I'd check developer settings and turn Max apps to keep in memory to the highest amount.
and I agree, it's a bit unpolished. Probably something to do with their battery optimizations and Android's not being compatable.
Tried several methods and nothing truly works. Your best bet is to flash a GSI/rom. Or just root the phone and install "ram fix by cork" magisk mod. I'm using the latter method and it works fine.
Yep the software itself has far too aggressive memory management despite it having 4Gb of RAM and kills apps far too quickly.
I complained about it to UMIDIGI support and they said go buy an F2.
What i did was used this forum to install Lineage OS and now have no memory issues
Either install a GSI (I suggest LOSQ) or download RAM Management Fix by Crock if you can find it, it's not in Magisk anymore.
So i have had this issue since i got the phone at launch and nothing has resolved it short of just factory resetting the phone and i haven't done this out of being lazy and probably because it might not fix the issue and everything would be for nothing, the issue is when trying to send a pic or video via telegram while you already opened up the keyboard, i will attach a video on the issue
This is a Pixel 6 thread, not a Telegram bug reporting group. Wake up, the cake is a lie.

so the question is is it telegram or the phone? since all my other phones have no issues and my gf's pixel 4a doesn't have the issue, honestly its not the first time i have had issues with apps involving the keyboard not hiding when its supposed to. Also could you please test it if you don't have the app to see if it would probably be fixed on my end if i factory reset. I just want to know if its not a me issue and its an actual issue with app on the phone.
For this to help, needs more information to determine whether it's an app problem or Pixel 6 problem.
First, are you both on the same Android version? Did it work previously? When this happened? and which app version is installed on both mobiles?
I tend to agree, that this is an app problem.
Fastest way to figure that out would be to reset the app by deleting the storage from the app.
Cheers
Tom
