How to disable WiFi access to system apps - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

I'm on miui 11 & recently rooted my Poco (TWRP->Magisk). Now that it has been done, I'm not sure how to block WiFi access to system apps. Do I install another app such as AFWall+ ? But then the inbuilt security app also restricts data usage. Will having the two cause issues. Do I need to turn the security app off or uninstall it ? If so, how ?

Permissions for preinstalled apps

So I have seen the 6.0 and the CM permission system before.
Both have a toggle that allows setting permissions for preinstalled system apps aswell.
Is that possible in OxygenOS too?
(The whole reason for me to get a phone with a permission system was to be able to restrain all that Google Play stuff...)

CM's privacy guard can do exactly that, even with system apps. OOS's permissions can only limit non-system apps, so you'd need to remove all the Google Play apps as system apps and re-install as user apps (or convert them to user apps with Titanium Backup). However, this would need root. Not sure if you wanted a non-root option, but I can't think of any that would not require root.

I was indeed wondering about a non root option, i.e. if there is a toggle i just missed.
So I guess I'll wait for the 6.0 update as the native android permission system works for system apps aswell, and they'd be stupid to replace it.

Sparkasse S-Pushtan Bank app ROOT detecting bypass 2019 Help

Dear Users,
I would like to ask your helps I want to use german Sparkasse and S-Pushtan bank app on my rooted P20pro (android 8.1) but not starts because my phone is rooted.
I tryed many tweaks to hide my rooted status but not working at all. I have used hide magisk as well, deleted, removed the apps reinstalled, deleted the data before started and I rebooted my phone but still no success. I tried to install older versions but nothing.
Kindly I would like to ask your help because I don't believe it that not working on my rooted phone.
I have the same issue with Android 8.0 on my rooted LG V20.
No solution for the moment.
Workaround
I re-installed version 1.3.0 instead of 1.3.1 and blocked the automatic update.
With the usual settings (hide in magisk and create a neutral magisk package) it works.
Since today my Sparkasse does not allow older versions of the app anymore. I can still log in but the app canNOT access my account's current data anymore - it is NOT being sent to the app (only old cached data is being displayed in the app).
What's the best alternative now?

block internet app access by deleting permissions

good morning, I need your help.
I'm trying to understand if it is possible to delete an app's internet access by deleting the permissions.
so I intend to remove access without having to install other apps.
do you think it's possible?
how can I do?
os: android 9.0 with root!
Even with root access, you cannot do this without installing another app.
There are many apps that help you block internet access of apps, like NetGuard NoRoot firewall. Try those.

Questions about system app freezing/uninstalling/OTA on Android 10

Hello everyone,
it seems like with Android 10 the whole freezing/uninstalling process of system apps has changed. And it can also somehow make you fail to install any OTA updates later on.
I couldn't find any definitve answer to some of my questions (maybe because Android 10 is relatively new). So here I go:
Freezing apps:
1. Going into "settings -> apps -> show all apps -> 3 dots -> show system -> disabling any app" is the same as freezing an app with e.g. "TitaniumBackup Pro" or "App Freezer"?
2. I understand that if I freeze an app, another app (or the system) can't call/start the frozen app in case it is needed?
3. Could this lead to system crashes or higher battery drain because of frequent requests of an app trying to call a frozen app?
4. Freezing an app and applying an OTA update will keep the app frozen?
Uninstalling updates of system apps and getting more storage:
So the system app itself is inside /system/ but only the very basic version of it.
Every update of a system app is stored inside /data/.
So basically, uninstalling every update of all my disabled system apps would give me some free usable storage in /data/
5. Is that correct?
6. Uninstalling updates but then applying an OTA update will only (if ever) update the system app but will not add anything to the /data/ location?
7. Or would I have to uninstall the updates manually again from my frozen apps after an OTA to relief the used space in /data/?
OTA Updates failing to install because of freezing:
Tampering with the /system/ partition will make any OTA updates to fail installing. Often it seems to be enough to just mount /system rw.
8. Does that mean freezing on a rooted device via "settings -> apps -> 3 dots -> disable" will already prevent me from installing any OTA update?
9. Does that mean freezing on a rooted device via TitaniumBackup Pro will already prevent me from installing any OTA update?
10. Does the magisk module "Terminal Debloater" work and how is it different from 8. and 9. ?
A lot of questions, I would be very happy if someone could answer them.
Thanks in advance!

Is it still worth having a phone with ROOT in 2022?

I'm a developer and advanced Android user. All my previous phones were rooted.
Now, instead of my OnePlus with Android 11, I got an ASUS ROG Phone with Android 12. But today I'm asking myself a question:
Is it still worth having a phone with ROOT in 2022?
There are certainly many reasons to have ROOT. In my case in particular:
- AdAway in ROOT mode.
- The ability to backup and restore app data (like game accounts).
- The ability to terminate running processes using the 3C All-inOne Toolbox.
The problem is that some apps don't work on a phone with ROOT:
- Banking apps
- Card payment
- Microsoft Teams
Yes, I have the latest Magisk with Universal SafetyNet Fix and in Zygisk mode I hide ROOT from all Microsoft and Google apps. Yet from time to time Microsoft Authenticator will evaluate the phone as unsafe and refuses to run Teams.
I would like to get rid of the ROOT issues already and have a phone without ROOT. Finally, AdAway can run in VPN mode as well.
The question is how to transfer app data like game accounts from the old phone to the new one without ROOT. Google backup only restores about half of the apps on the original phone.
I used to always use Titanium, but that doesn't work without ROOT. Today Swift Backup works, but even that needs ROOT. Shizuku mode doesn't help in this case either.
So today I see it as the best option for me:
1. Unlock the bootloader.
2. Temporary ROOT the new phone.
3. Restore apps with data.
4. Lock the bootloader - in case the Microsoft Authenticator detects the unlocked bootloader.
What do you think?

As you've already discovered, the main advantage to rooting is the ability to do backups. There are solutions to the the Banking apps and Card payment problems, which may or may not work for your particular apps. There are also alternatives to Microsoft Authenticator. Only you can determine if these alternative solutions are worth the benefit of being able to backup your data.
The AdAway problem is easily solved. Use AdGuard DNS, which does not require root.
@dcarvil: I suppose you mean AdGuard DNS.
