You don't.
Instead you convert US998 to Canada H933. H933 has band 8.
GSM / HSPA / LTE
2G bands GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G bands HSDPA 850 / 1700(AWS) / 1900 / 2100
4G bands LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 12(700), 13(700), 17(700), 20(800), 25(1900), 29(700), 30(2300), 66(1700/2100)
Speed HSPA 42.2/5.76 Mbps, LTE-A (3CA) 750/150 Mbps
Follow the Frankenstein instructions, but go the other way...
* Flash back to US998 Nougat,
* then to H933 Nougat.
* Master Reset.
* Then flash to H933 Oreo KDZor H933 Pie KDZ.

Not if you follow the Frankenstein instructions correctly. All North American variants can be converted to all other North American variants -- EXCEPT for T-Mobile H932.
The Frankenstein instructions I wrote are for converting to US998. You are just going the other way. See my post above. And go read the Frankenstein instructions. VERY important you downgrade to Nougat first!

Well, first you only mentioned LTE band 8. And you have US998. So, that's easily solved. Convert to Canada H933.
H933
2G GSM: 850/900/1800/1900
3G UMTS (HSPA): 850/1700/1900/2100
4G LTE: 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/17/20/25/29/30/66
US998
CDMA: 800 MHz CDMA
2G GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
3G UMTS (HSPA):850/900/1900/2100 MHz
4G LTE Bands: 1/2/3/4/5/7/12(17)/13/20/25/66
AMAZINGLY, every North American V30/V30+/V30S can be completely converted to any other -- EXCEPT for T-mobile H932. But this cross flashing/conversion (IF DONE RIGHT!) includes LS998, US998, AS998, Verizon VS996, AT&T H931, Canada H933, Puerto Rico H932PR (NOT to be confused with T-mobile H932!) 7 DIFFERENT North American models you can convert to another and change LTE bands!
HOWEVER, you can NOT cross flash H930 variant modems (H930, H930D, H930DS, H930G) with North America variant modems.
So, you can either have US998 or you can have H933 -- or one of the other North American variants if you flash those KDZ. (AT&T H931 has LTE band 40, but doesn't have LTE band 8.) If you don't have one of the LTE bands, you can drop down to 3G during that time.
Someone else from Indonesia posted few weeks ago, so I understand your situation. As I told him, if he needed an H930DS, he should have bought an H930DS. I'm sorry, I don't have any other answers.

H933 doesn't have fastboot flash commands. That's why in the "WTF Instructions" all North American variants (except for T-Mobile H932) have to temporarily convert to US998 to bootloader unlock phones and install TWRP. Of all the North American variants, only USS98 has fastboot flash commands.
So, they use Frankenstein instructions to convert to US998. If they then want to go back to their previous firmware (while keeping TWRP), they have to use TWRP flashable zip (basically a stock ROM) for thier firmware.
Is that why you're asking about fastboot? To unlock bootloader and install TWRP custom recovery and root?

The same WTF Instructions which tell how to unlock the bootloader also tell how to install TWRP and root.
You had to convert back to US998.
Section 5 was unlocking the bootloader.
Section 6 of WTF Instructions is installing TWRP and root.
So, I'm puzzled. If you indeed unlocked the Bootloader using the WTF INSTRUCTIONS you would have already known that. There's something I'm probably not understanding about your question -- or you haven't actually unlocked the bootloader yet?
Read the Instructions in a web browswer, not an app.

Dear XDA Forum:
I'm a new member of XDA forum and would like to thank you, everyone, for taking their time on reading this post.
Back to the point. I have with me an LG V30+ (H930DS) from Saudi Arabia.
Here are the specifications list according to the Software Info:
Android Version: 7.1.2
Android security patch level: January 1, 2018
Software Version: V10e-AME-XX
I'm very frustrated with how LG deals with the software updates. I'm using an unlocked variant LG V30+, yet, I still didn't get updates. I wish to use the latest software updates. So, I thought about to convert it to US unlocked variant version, but, I'm struggling with how to do it. I'm still pretty new to dealing with this kind of problems. I hope XDA will provide me the guidelines on this matter.
Thank you!
You can download below kdz file and install for me this is working normal for UAE version V30+.

Flashing H930 Oreo KDZ over H930DS will give you Oreo, but you'll lose 2nd SIM capability. You would have these bands:
If you have"H930" (either actual or converted), you will have these bands:
2G GSM: 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G (HSPA): 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
4G LTE: 1/2/3/4/5/8/12/17/20/28/38
You can flash the Hong Kong H930DS Oreo KDZ and still get the same Oreo but retain 2nd SIM capability.

Yes, upgrade to keep apps and data. Refurbish if you want a clean, fresh start.
I have finished flashing Android Oreo on my phone using the method you provided on another article.
I flashed SEA/ Singapore KDZ on "lg-firmwares". The only downside that happened during the process was, it required me to reformat my phone to gain access to my phone. I lost all of my graduation photos... Darn it.
Anyways, so far with a 6 hours experience on Android Oreo. I enjoyed the new features. I definitely see an improvement on phone's and battery performance with more control privilege. I'm still disappointed with the camera even with the AI cam implementation. Somehow fish is detected as a dog... Everything is not perfect anyways in its first development. I'm not expecting too much out of it. But I hope and wish they will improve the camera software, especially HDR mode. In Google Pixel 2 XL, the built in camera software is a beast. They should've copied that xD.
Thank you for providing me enough details to accomplish what I want with my LG v30+. I really appreciate every person who commented in this post. Once again, thank you!

Yeah, I'm a little confused too. What EXACTLY is the question? What if I like US998 or AS998 stock ROM more? Why are they not listed? Where's LS998? Where's VS996?
To bootloader unlock, TWRP installation, and root, ALL the North American variants (EXCEPT for the T-mobile H932) have to at least temporarily convert to US998 or already be a US998 for fastboot flash commands. Afterwards users can flash what they want -- including TWRP flashable zip files to convert back to former model (H931, VS996, H933, AS998) if they desire to regain carrier-specific options like VoLTE/Wi-Fi calling. (Depends on the carrier if they limit those to their branded models.) Or users can go flash custom ROMs. But many STAY on US998 as it is carrier unlocked and devoid of most bloatware. Even when flashing a custom ROM, they are most often flashing FROM US998 stock rooted firmware. So, very strange it's not listed whatsoever.
H930 is Europe open market carrier unlocked.
H931 is AT&T, but carrier locked to AT&T. Only AT&T customers want that.
H932 is T-mobile but has different RSA encryption from other North American carriers.
H933 is the Canada model, for all Canadian carriers -- but it is carrier unlocked.
US998 is the official open market North American carrier unlocked model -- while also being sold by U.S. Cellular as their V30. V30S is also a US998 variant -- US998R.
Of ALL the North American variants, the US998 is the ONLY one with fastboot flash commands.
AS998 is the "regional carrier" version of the US998, but it doesn't have fastboot flash commands.
LS998 is Sprint's carrier locked V30/V30+.
VS996 is Verizon's V30, and is carrier unlocked.
Then there's H930DS (middle East/Africa/Asia) -- which is the dual SIM V30+, as well as the H930D (Middle East) -- which is the dual SIM version of the V30.
There's also three Korean carrier variants, plus a somewhat strange Japanese V30+.
Right now most custom ROMs are compatible with MOST of the the V30 series. However, H931/H933 has issues booting Oreo custom ROMs. H932 has different RSA encryption, so needs a separate ROM version. The goal would be to UNIFY all the variants so all ROMs would be compatible with ALL variants.
I would be happy with anything that boots on h931.

H930 (and D/DS), US998, LS998, VS996, and 2 of the 3 Korean models work fine with the H930 build.
H931 and H933 can boot us998 stock rom, but even with using full us998 blobs + kernel config, it doesnt work (i think @me2151 also tried H931 blobs?)... and theres 1 case of a H933 which can boot all AOSP ROMs... so it has to be something else (maybe certain combination of bootloader + modem... who knows)
And H932 needs their own firmware files, but that works already.
I would be happy with anything that actually works on a 933 that isn't just a modified stock firmware with root and twrp ability.
I bought an LG V30, but is the model VS996 and i having issues with the Verizon customization, coz for example i cant enable 4g calling due i dont have Verizon SIM.
Other issue am having is that i cant conect 4g data even when i put the apn, if i switch to 2g and the come back to 4g i can activate 4g data but later the problema comes back, and is very weird and annoying.
I think my problems can be solved if i change my firmware, so i have 2 questions:
Whats the best oficial unlocked firmware (with no phone company) for the lg v30?
And my device is unlocked
If i change the firmware my phone locks again? Coz in the country where i live theres no Verizon so i wont be able to unlock it again.
Thaks if someone responds

Other issue am having is that i cant conect 4g data even when i put the apn, if i switch to 2g and the come back to 4g i can activate 4g data but later the problema comes back, and is very weird and annoying.
I think my problems can be solved if i change my firmware, so i have 2 questions:
Whats the best oficial unlocked firmware (with no phone company) for the lg v30?
And my device is unlocked
If i change the firmware my phone locks again? Coz in the country where i live theres no Verizon so i wont be able to unlock it again.
Thaks if someone responds

You need to convert your Verzion VS996 to "open market" carrier unlocked US998 firmware. US998 is the official carrier unlocked firmware for North America and works well on the (North America) Verizon VS996.
See the Frankenstein thread instructions.
IF you're not a Verizon customer, then yes you do not need or want U.S. carrier Verizon firmware. Instead you need the official carrier unlocked US998 firmware. You can convert the VS996 to US998, which will solve your problems.
After conversion you will have carrier unlocked US998 with these bands:

US998
CDMA: 800 MHz CDMA
2G GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
3G UMTS (HSPA):850/900/1900/2100 MHz
4G LTE Bands: 1/2/3/4/5/7/12(17)/13/20/25/66

No he didn't. No one has bricked their phone flashing VS996 to US998. You're probably quoting some person who didn't follow the directions. Even then his phone wasn't bricked he just needed to do a Master Reset, which is the next step after flashing Nougat. Some people don't like to follow directions.
Just read the directions. No need to ask any more questions here. Ask in that thread if you don't understand the instructions. They tell you exactly what to flash. There's only five steps.
Many thousands of people have converted to us998 and no one has bricked their phone, unless it's someone who tried to flash U.S. T-Mobile H932 against all warnings...

Thanks mate
I was wondering if its possible to flash a H933 firmware stock, to a US998 V30, the reason why I am asking, is because the US998 does not have the AWS band on the 3G and only on the LTE, would this be possible. Without running a custom firmware. Because I need the AWS bands on 3G bands.
Because my carrier works on the AWS bands on the 3G as I dont have LTE. And If it does work, how would be the best way to proceed.
Thanks.
