I bought a Nokia 2 V recently at Walmart for my grandmother but she is unable to use it just on wifi because the Verizon Setup screen will not let you get through without activating the phone on their network. I was just here to ask if there was any possible way to bypass this setup screen just so she can use it on wifi without service. Thanks, any help is appreciated!

I have a Verizon Samsung Fascinate (SCH-i500) currently working with PagePlus Talk and Text. I bought it from somebody, so I'm a second owner. Mostly I use wi-fi, but sometimes I need to use data/mms. I went to a PagePlus dealer and asked about enable data/mms, he said I can't use it because PagePlus dose not allow data/mms on smartphone. I searched about solution more than a week, but I couldn't find it. Can you help me with your magic hands? I have QPST program. If you can, pleased give me a step by step instruction.

I have a Moto Xoom WiFi and would like to use it from time to time with my phone .
The idea is to take an offer from Virgin Mobile UK for a Galaxy S2 and use it as a Hotspot for my Xoom.
Would any UK users out there know if Virgin allows it before I engage myself for two years?

A more simple question. Can a Samsung GS2act as a hotspots with a Motor Zoom?
The reason I ask is today I went to a Virgin shop. The guy did not know if it would work. So he asked one of the girl there if we could use her S2 as a hotspot with my Xoom. It did say connected , but they could not communicate. So, I am still uncertain to get a GS2.

Phones should work with any network, but if the phone has network lock, then you can only use it in the network, it is locked to.
And you need to ask the seller about that, we cannot help.
I bought a note 2 running on us cellular but whenever you call out or do anything calling related verizons automated voice comes on. I bought the phone for 50 bucks and its 9/10 condition so i figured if i cant get it to work the phone its self works perfectly. But now that i invested around 8 or 9 hours trying to figure out why i cant do anything and why verizon comes on a US cellular phone. But If anyone could help me out it would be great. The phone is indeed rooted running 4.4.2 and i have acess to supersu and i have CWM 6.0 something. Any ideas?

She could not do it, so I was called to the rescue.

Most easy way is to get a 'mifi' box and kindly ask the provider for an additional sim-card. Some providers even supply those boxes at a fair price and to be used in the same subscription.
Since you donnot specify, I expect the phone is not rooted.
Next, I hope the phone is not branded (supplied by the phone company and loaded with their software).
So the system is running android 4.4 (as that was the lates version I got on my SII).
Now I'm doing this by head as android 4.4 is some time ago.. See the phone settings app and in there you should find the option called 'tethering'. Other names are wifi-hotspot and such.
Be noted, if the phone is connected to a wifi network, the option can be grayed-out or even invisible, so best to disconnect the wifi network. I'm in daupt if you need to disable the wifi itself. In the end it is needed.
The latest available stock ROM is 4.1.2 Check out the picture to activate WiFi tethering hotspot. You can put the SIM inside the phone, turn mobile data on and then activate tethering.
