Hi everyone. I am desperately trying to find the answer to this question and I am running out of time. I am presently on holiday in the U.S. and I have calculated that i can buy a Galaxy Tab 7 Plus in the U.S. for the equivalent of around £ 280.00. That is a huge saving on the U.K. Price. However I want to make sure that the Tab will be compatible with the U.K. Google Market first. I just want to make sure that as the device will be software registered as a U.S. device it will allow me to use the U.K. Market. Or is there a work around? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you get back to England you may just have to do a factory reset but not likely it should be fine for a sure answer would be best to ask in the device forum
Thank you for the prompt response. I will ask in the appropriate forum as you suggest.
I would check with Samsung UK. Send them an e-mail.

If yes ... please tell me the method

I'm sorry mate, that's a really sweet deal but most likely it'll be locked or have a different gsm/cdma frequency band so you won't be able to use it....
Except if you want to do anything else with it but phonecalls and messages and have a cheap second phone for that!
I'd to that if i were you...it's only a hundred bucks!
Hi everyone,
So I'm looking to buy a Galaxy S3 and the best price I've found so far has been online. Oh, you should probably know I'm in China right now. The website is Taobao and I use google translate to try and figure out what I'm staring at.. I'm not allowed to post a link, but if you google 'taobao' and 'galaxy s3' I think you'll understand why I haven't bought the phone yet. You see, there's one thing I can't make heads or tails of: what are these 'versions'. I'm worried that if I get the wrong version, it won't work when I go back to my home country (the Netherlands), or maybe it will, but without internet (or only 2g).. Do you think you can you help me out? A friend told me it doesn't matter and that as long as it's an i9300 it'll work everywhere, but I just want to make sure. Plus, this just got me really curious about what the difference between a Eurasian and Asia-pacific edition is...
Thanks in advance for your help!
European aka i9300. Most moddable and common model, which means best support.

hi, i am looking to buy my dad a S4 mini DUOS I9192, but i have a few concerns, mainly regarding samsung region lock stuff:
- i live in canada, and my dad needs to travel to china for work. so while i guess i can test the phone here in canada to make sure it works in north america region by making a 5 min call locally, i cannot guarantee that the phone will be region locked when my dad travels to china. is it possible to check beforehand (in settings etc) whether the phone is region locked without putting a foreign sim card in?
- probably will be buying the phone on ebay, most sellers are shipping from US or hong kong. how will i know which region the phone is locked to?
- i read that there is some region lock away app by chainfire available, but i cannot find the app in google play. can someone point me to the right direction regarding where i can find the app? does it actually work and future-proof if we update the firmware?
TIA
