overclocking the Tab S3`s cpu/gpu ? - Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Questions & Answers

Is there a way to overclock it like it was possible on the Galaxy S3?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/guide-galaxy-s3-cpu-gpu-overclocking-t1827635
Im playing pubg on that Tab and it lags even on lowest settings and i wanted to see how far i could push it.
Or is there a performance mode on the Tab S3?

U still have some slowdowns, but very playable. Try using rumirand kernel on development section.
In case you didn't know TEGRAK Overclock works wonders and also Chainfire3D works too and can greatly increase your performance.
On a side note: this is compatible with the 4.0 too right?
i know TEGRAK Overclock i(1300 mhz ), and use it before but battery going down fastly also i want to show orijinal speed...
Odd, when I used your file I got light glare and headlights on the road, etc.
Neat but there is no way that eyecandy makes it faster

view this thread to decrease effect e.g. lights and it does run faster

Any real benefits of overclocking?

Well i have rooted my phone and wanted to overclock my S2.. Now i need to install a custom kernel for that , so was thinking of going with siyah..
However i just wanted to know whether is it really worth overclocking? I mean i will go back to stock settings for day to day usage.. but like for playing games and stuff..i would like to overclock my cpu..
There are few 3d games mainly open world ones like gangstar rio city, amazing spiderman which lag a bit even on S2..
So just wanted to know whether overcloking to1.4 or 1.5 will show any improvements or not? Also how does it affect the overall performance of the device i.e. opening apps, swiping through home screens, home screen lag etc.
Answers would be greatly appreciated
thanks

well OC does improve performance of the phone while doing the benchmark test's,but the same is not recommended for longer use since it creates lots of isssue's like Random freezing, rebooting, overheating etc which is not good for ur phone.
hence the best thing is to try out some good kernels like Siyah, fluxi etc and see how ur games fare with there default settings and also u can set the Governers in the same(siyah, Fluxi kernel) and try, that way its safe rather than Overclocking
Well, more performance (but for me not that much) at the expense of battery life and a damaged chip set sooner than later in the future
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
So do u think installing siyah kernel will have a postive impact on the performance of the phone overall as well as games? by the way regarding OC, ofcourse i wont overclock the whole time , only when playing those demanding 3d games..
more replies especially from experienced overclockers would be appreciated, thanks..
I am not installing any custom rom currently as RR and few others have reportedly been not so stable for gaming..the games crash or force close etc..
so gonna stick with stock rom for now..but i do want a performance enhancing kernel
You won't need to overclock at all whilst playing games. The cpu will be more than sufficient and stock speeds. Also the gpu does main of the gaming bits and that will have no problem as it can play tegra games
well thats d prob..there are few games that do lag on d great s2 lol as mentioned in my post... so was wonderkng wheyher overclocking cpu and/or gpu will affect performance or not..
thanks for f replies though

[Q] ROM to increase benchmark

I was just wondering if anyone knows a ROM that increases the quadrant Benchmark for the S3. I have a S2 and its currently scoring better than my S3. It may be the cpu tuner app?? PLease let me know.

Almost any custom ROM increases it because it contains tweaks and mods. Just browse the S III forum and pick the ROM you like most.

I m planning to underclock it further instead , for an even longer battery life.
I think using setCPU after rooting it may work. (though I ve not root it yet)

Any feed back on your experiences yet? I'm currently looking at this as my next phone.
There is an argument to be had that underclocking it wont make any difference to your battery life (unless you keep it fully loaded for the majority of the time). You better off keeping it at the same max clock speed and experimenting with the guvnor settings. The faster the clock speed, the faster you can get something processed and the sooner you can get the phone back into the lower frequencies the better.
If you half the max clock speed and it takes twice as long to process the data you will end up using the same power normally than if you left it at its default clock speeds. Again whether this will yeild battery savings or not is dependant on how you let the CPU ramp up and down. Id rather have a snappy phone when I need it and concentrate on keeping it at its lowest power conuming mode as much as possible.

Modern Combat 4: lags?

Hello guys.I have galaxy s2 with stock kernel 4.1.2 , rooted with stock cpu/gpu clocks. I use an app that's with lowest graphics of the game, 1.1.0 meltdown update. I still drop to 20-25fps and the average isn't much more than 35fps. This is definitely better than stock game but it's still not very playable. I saw a one year old thread where people ran the game with this phone and lowest graphics with 60fps. Is it just me or are you guys experiencing the same ? If the problem Is only mine, any tips to increase frames? CPU oc doesn't do much.

Well,I don't have a S2 but you can increase the performance with this MOD, it also increase the battery life too:
