Can someone please tell me how I do this on a rooted 2.1? It's driving me mad trying to google it and I need to reset the battery stats to improve the battery life.
install xrecovery (dev thread) goto "advanced" > "wipe battery stats".
Edit: i just used this myself, but how would this "improve" the lifecycle of a battery?
Do SE battery's have a chip on them that counts the used hours/days, or is it just the android fw that keeps track?
(I have 2 fake battery's also (ebay), so i never run out of juice in case of the chip.. i bet these fake's dont have a chip.. kinda like fake PSP batterys (special pandora's excluded))
it won't improve the battery life.
however, you can maintain your battery life and align the battery stats to actual battery level by draining it until the phone cannot power back on. plug it in, wipe stats, power off, let it charge fully, then leave it on the charger for about an hour afterwards before powering it back on.

EDIT: Oops... wrong thread
anyone know how to wipe batt stats if phone is not rooted?
is it even possible?
I have had Transformer Prime for over a month. its rooted and never gave any battery issue. i have installed Battery Booster app to monitor battery percentage and temperature and also to be notified when battery is fully charged so i dont over charge it and damage the battery.
recently my prime shuts down with 30% battery still remaining. i have to charge it to get it back on. Once i charge it for 5 - 10 min it turns on showing 34-35 % battery life. ( Battery Percentage checked with Both Battery Booster app and built in Device settings )
Kindly Help.
Wipe the battery stats, it has the "dead" state at 30%.
Wipe the stats, run a full cycle or two and it should be good to go.

I have already done that , and now have my fingers crossed , will update once i reach 30% or Below.
Ok . wiped the battery stats , charged it to 100 % and no problem faced after that. took 5-6 pics with flash on at 1% battery remaining, still didn't die.
Good to hear!
You might want to change the thread title by adding solved at the beginning or end.
If you're not sure how to, if you edit your first post and go into advanced mode, you can then change the title.
Our Xperia S is powered by an li-poly battery and i recently read an article saying it has a life of 250-300 charge cycles..
I was wondering what are this charge cycles ??
Everytime we charge the phone to 90% the default battery app starts a new cycle of recording battery use, is this ONE CYCLE for li-poly battery ?? :silly:
Since i have read this i keep charging my phone between 15 and 95.. I don't let it completely drain nor try to charge it to full, hoping it would help my battery on a longer run
It's probably a very old article.
After using the Rom Dragon 1.7, my battery takes several hours to charge, and sometimes even carrying my battery percentage was decreasing, someone knows why?
To get an idea, with the phone turned off, after 2 hours charging the battery is at 49% ...
All you can try is to wipe the battery stats .
That fails reflash rom or change rom .

Many users have problem regarding the battery gets discharged 90% to 20% in few minutes. So here is the simple solution...
Callibrate your battery using battery callibrator...https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration
1.first charge your phone upto 100%.
2.click on callibrate.
3.unplug the charger..
4.allow battery to discharge(Don't use too heavy app to do it just normal use)
5.after discharging again fully charge the battery..
6.Your Battery is now callibrated...
