I have a Samsung Galaxy A40 and I want to flash LineageOS on it. The phone is supported by Project Treble, so I can flash a GSI image.
I installed TWRP (the unoffical one for the A40) and disabled DM-Verity and Force Encryption because I want to do backups.
I factory reset my phone with TWRP, install a LineageOS image and reboot into system. I end up in a bootloop.
So I tried to do a factory reset AGAIN after flashing the image because I was told that could work. It didn't.
It could be DM-Verity that stops it, so I flash DM-Verity after flashing the image. Did not fix it.
Tried to format it after flashing the image as that could possibly work. It did not.
Am I doing something wrong here?
EDIT: Forgot to mention, but I got it working. The reason was that I was using a rom that was A only, but my phone was actually A/B. The app I had used was showing me false information, as it said I had an A-only system.
Hey man, how did it turn out, did you successfully install a rom?

No worries, I got it working. I just had forgot to update the post. See the edit.
I did it like described in instructions.
Works but there are some bugs. Signal levels are very low (was good in stock rom), and rounded corners looks bad.

well it was a quick shot from my note 4 but still explains the problem. phone stays like this with blue led flashing after i heard samsung boot sound. i tryed to flash old recovert first i used but it also didnt worked.
update: i cant reach recovery...
First try to take out battery for some time and try to boot again. If not successfully what about download mode? If you can't boot and can't go to recovery your only option is to flash stock ROM by Odin using download mode. Then you can flash recovery and restore your backup (if you have one).

well i already tryed battery trick. i found stock rom (1.3gb from internet) downloading now. if i flash that will it fix it?
and no i dont have a backup
Be absolutly sure so downloaded ROM is suitable for your model - one of trusted sources of stock ROMs for Samsung phones is there: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
If you choose proper ROM, after flashing it you will get brand new system on your Mega - flashing ROM by Odin superseed all what you have now in your unit. Of course all your data will be lost.

ROM support? Stock or custom, MM, LP etc?
Some TWRP versions known to cause bootloops after flashing.

I'm trying to root my Oneplus X and install Sultans CM13 rom.
Following this guide I unlocked my bootloader but I'm having problems with booting into a custom recovery.

Flashing seems to work, but when I try to boot the recovery I get the error "dtb not found". This happens with the recoverys by TeamWin and Sultan.
I looked around the forums and found this thread suggesting to use the blue spark twrp.
This recovery actually works and I can flash and boot it.
However I'd like to use Sultans custom twrp and I'm wondering why it doesn't work.
All three of them are based on the same version (3.0.2.-2) but just one of them works.
Right now I'm on OOS 3.1.2
Thank you for your help!
I am also having this issue. I got sparks TWRP to work but it doesn't seem to work with Sultan's ROM. I picked the wrong day to switch from stock!
Go back to the original recovery and flash the original firmware 2x lollipop.
Than u can flash twrp and flash sultan without have the issue with dtb.

here is the solution
Hello everyone! I am in quite a bit of trouble after trying to flash xiaomi.eu rom on my Indian Mi11X Pro. I accidentally flashed everything from the EU rom and that seems to have bricked my phone. When I tried flashing the stock rom, I get a crc error. Even if I force flash it, it always boots into fastboot. Tried downloading multiple time as well. Did not help. The firmware is probably messed.
I did have a TWRP backup made but that got erased accidentally when my sdcard was wiped.
If any of you have an Indian Mi11X Pro, PLEASE upload a backup of super partition from twrp.

EDIT: Funny how life works. I managed to fix it just after writing this.
If anyone else is having a similar issue, use the MiFlash Tool instead of using the bat or sh file directly (Or in terminal). It appears the fastboot version is very very important. All the best.

How did you manage to root it and which twrp did you install? I'm asking because I have the same phone and looking to root and install twrp.
You dont need to root your device to install twrp. You do need an unlocked bootloader though. Once your bootloder is unlocked, just follow instructions from here.
Hi All,
I've not really kept in the loop of custom ROM's for a while now. I got a OnePlus Nord and felt like I didn't need to root or flash it so I left it stock. Anyway, I went to change the software on my POCO F1, but I think I've messed myself up here. I was running Pixel Experience, dont think it was the latest build, it was probably like 3+ months old build. And I am using TWRP 3.5.1_10-0. Now I think I messed up by not removing my lockscreen before doing a wipe in TWRP.
This is what I see when I mount MTP through TWRP (after the wipe):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
So I did a wipe, and now I cant access the ZIP's I put on the storage for flashing. And there is no OS installed. And it doesnt seem to let me copy files onto the internal storage.
Anyone got any ideas or tips for how to bring this back? I have TWRP and thats it it seems.
EDIT: After a few reboots and wipes, managed to remove the encryption and I can install a new ROM. I wasn't fussed about losing the data. Updated TWRP to 3.6 official, and installing Lineage OS 18.1, lets see how that goes
Thanks,
