I use my Mi A3 with Android Auto in the car, but don't have an Android Auto compatible car radio - so just use the phone screen and bluetooth for streaming audio to my car.
This works great on previous phones, and worked fine on the Mi A3 under a custom rom (Pixel Experience) but on the stock rom it doesn't work correctly.
The Google Assistant navigation guidance and voice responses are WAY too loud - like the volume for the stream is set to 10, compared to like 4 or 5 for everything else like spotify.
My bluetooth volume (on the phone) is set to max, and i set a comfortable listening level on my car radio with spotify playing - but when Google speaks its so loud it's distorted!
Does anyone have any idea why this occurs on the stock rom only, and how it could be fixed? - I've tested with my wifes car and it does the exact same..
Edit - it's worth pointing out I've checked Google assistant launched from the OS (not in Android Auto) and the volume is fine. However as I pointed out earlier - Android Auto volume is fine on custom ROMs.. suggesting this is a stock OS issue.
Nobody else have this issue?

Is there an app, widget, whatever that will allow me to easily switch the audio output from one device to another? e.g., I am connected to both headphones and a bluetooth A2DP device and audio is playing through the the A2DP. I want to be able to switch to headphones or even the built-in speaker without turning off the A2DP device or connecting/disconnecting the headphones.
I have a couple of devices that I would like to do this on:
Samsung Galaxy S3 (Sprint) w/ AOKP 4.2.1 (root access enabled)
Archos G9 w/ ICS 4.0.4 (root access enabled)
I have searched the Play Store, XDA, and the open interwebs for a solution, but search terms like "android audio output device switcher" are frustratingly broad and difficult to narrow. I previously came from an iOS background, where the audio switcher was built into the OS audio system, and the headphones, iPhone output, bluetooth, and any AirPlay devices could all be selected with relative ease. Ideally, I'd like something that works as easily, perhaps as a lockscreen or notifications widget. A solution that requires root would be fine.
Many thanks!
I was hoping to see any response or direction .. I'm also looking for a solution for this
Really late to reply, but SoundAbout should do that trick.
2018 and still nothing aside from SoundAbout, which crashes on me. ??
u can use lesser audioswitch from playstore.it works flawless.
I just installed CyanogenMod 10.1.2 Stable (via SafeStrap 3.11), everything went perfect. A couple days later, I finally went to re-sync my phone to my PriusV's Entune system to play music via Google Play Music (with playlists stored locally on the phone).
Music plays back OK, however my issue is that no song details (Track title, artist name, disc name, playback position) will display on the Entune screen, and none of the car's control buttons (play/pause/next track/prev track) will do anything. I don't want to have to pull out my phone to change tracks or see what song just came on while i'm driving when this is what the details and controls on the car are supposed to do for me.
Anyone out there have any thoughts/ideas/suggestions/possible fixes?

I have a Highlander without Entune (Stock Stereo), so it's not a direct comparison but here's what I found. Music details don't display on the stereo. I've tried countless apps/hacks but nothing has worked. They spent all their dev $$ on getting it to work on the iPhone and left Android users in the dust. So I'm not sure music details have ever worked with Android.
The steering wheel controls however work fine for me, so that's strange. In the bluetooth settings on the phone, when connected to the stereo, is 'media' connected? It should be.
I wonder if an updated bluetooth controller for android would fix this issue for everyone?
I suppose I should clarify a bit - when i mentioned this being after installing CyanogenMod 10.1, I was assuming that one would take it things were working under stock, which was the case.
So: Stock - bluetooth playback showing track/artist/disc information, position in the song, and car controls worked (though stock had an older version of Google Play Music, so this could also be a source of conflict)
CyanogenMod: bluetooth only plays music, does not display any of the other information, and controls do not work. (Cyanogen 10.1 comes pre-built with the newer version of play music, so downgrading would be.... difficult and i'd rather try and make it work without doing so)
I guess what I want to try and find out is if it is CyanogenMod or Google Play Music's new version that is next to incompatible with Entune. With Stock, I had near 100% functionality (only shuffle/repeat toggles did not work - but even those don't work right with my wife's iPod, so i'm not worried about those functions).
Since i'm essentially dual-booted through SafeStrap, I may try going back on Stock, updating Play Music, and testing - if updating Play Music causes Stock to loose functionality equally, then i guess i'll have my answer - obviously i'll post back with results.
If functionality is still present on Stock after updating play store, then that traces it back to being something with Cyanogen, and the bluetooth driver it uses.
OK - sorry for the back to back posts, but I got lucky on some digging and found my answer.
CyanogenMod does not have something called AVRCP (Audio Video Remote Control Profile) revision 1.3+ built into it's bluetooth stack. This is because that is not something that is included by default under AOSP 4.2.x. So unless you want to build your own bluetooth stack and put it into Cyanogen, you're not going to get track info/controls.
Google has announced that under AOSP 4.3, they will be building Bluetooth version 4 support into Android, and version 4 supports AVRCP 1.3+ natively, thus Cyanogenmod's next version based off of AOSP 4.3 will then contain AVRCP support.
So, the short of it is, hang in there for the next major release of Cyanogen and all will be resolved!
Most manufacturers build AVRCP support into the bluetooth stack for their devices, hence why stock worked and now CyanogenMod does not.
Huh good to know. I knew that Android 4.3 included an upgrade to BT, but I didn't realize it would fix this issue. I wouldn't even know how to build my own BT stack, but it would be useful in the long run.
+1 on this
I have a Nexus 4 with CM 10.1.2 connected to my Skoda Octavia built-in bluetooth. I play music with Apollo (Cyanogenmod's music player) and I get to hear the songs and can skip to the next/previous songs with steering wheel controls but don't get to see the song title/artist info.
My Nexus One with CM 7 however does play music fine and shows all song details and steering wheel controls work fine.
So based on 1.) the fact that my 3.5 year old Nexus One (with CM 7 - Android 2.3.7) shows song details fine and 2.) the excellence of the CyanogenMod team, I think this can be resolved with some coding rather then waiting for Android 4.3 or CM 10.2 with an updated bluetooth stack.
Unfortunately I can't say if this issue only started appearing after the 2 security updates (10.1.1 and 10.1.2) since CM 10.1.2 was the 1st ROM I flashed on my Nexus 4. Although in this post goo.gl/KQ6J7H some guy who encounters the same issue, also experienced the issue on CM 10.1 (so before the security updates 10.1.1 & 10.1.2).
Apart from the song details not showing, I also noticed that sometimes I can't enable bluetooth at all and need to reboot my phone for it to work again. When tabbing the bluetooth icon in powercontrol widget or even directly in Settings it simply won't enable bluetooth. Also experienced by the guy from post goo.gl/KQ6J7H
I'm hoping to see this annoying bluetooth issue resolved asap.
Sinced I'm switched from my Nexus 5 to the Elephone P9000 I'm having following issues with two different car audio systems and also with the Stock and Eragon ROM:
Connecting my phone with the car works fine and it also playing audio, but I don't receive any track info (artist, song, etc.) when I use Spotify at the car audio system and I'm only able to skip/pause/start songs from the car audio system if the display of the smartphone is on.
I tried to find any settings but nothing worked...
Does anyone having the same issues or solved it?
I have the same isssue with both Bluetooth devices and plugged in headphones. Buttons for song control only work when screen is turned on.
This seems to be an OS issue. Hopefully they get it fixed with Nougat
No Issues like yours, here. Just Stange behaviour at the beginning of a track, that is played faster (2-5 seconds).
For track Infos try the App "autoaudio" helped me with my G2 Back then.
Sent from my P9000 trough Tapatalk
I just installed the Lineage OS released for Moto G4 Plus Athene from here

Bug info: The phone has become incapable of detecting newer bluetooth devices (I have tested it on 3 separate Blutetooth 4.0 device), although it connected perfectly with older bluetooth devices.
P.S. I tried reporting the bug there as well, but I'm a low level member so could not.
Bluetooth not reconnecting
Same here, although my issue is that it doesn't reconnect to the devices just until I delete the current device, restart and pair again. Waiting for next build to try.
Remember that some thing are not open source to be used in custom roms. Also cm has always had bt issues and Los will as well. All that testing and your missing the most important and most basic. A logcat
In my case Bluetooth do connects, but no audio on speaker. Though WiFi disconnects 2-3 times a day, and never reconnects on its own. Need to manually reconnect.
Lineage os 14.1 build 20170320 cancro
Same problem with an LG G3 Beat jagnm. Bluetooth pairs OK, but then the audio is scrambled.
Lineage nightly build 20170315 jagnm
Too bad there is no way to report the bug
Same problem with my Xiaomi MI4, connected on my bluetooth speaker but no sound
is the bug still there? I want to switch frome MIUI to lineage and need Bluetooth 4.1!
Yes it continues and the developper didn't start the correction. If bluetooth is needed, stay on miui
Hey, I have the same issue on OnePlusOne with LOS v2017040424. I use running band app with BT 4.0 required. But the device only can be found in BT device scanner, not in app.
Hi, i solved all problems, disabling privacy guard. Now, it works fine
mine is already off. can you explain in more detail please? and exactly which probleam you had? bluetooth not connecting or connected but no audio.
I've managed to solve the issue on my Moto G4 by doing the following:
Go to Settings and select the search option (the magnifying glass in the top right). Search for Bluetooth and you should get an option that says 'Bluetooth Scanning'. Select this and on the next screen TURN OFF Bluetooth Scanning. Reboot the device and try pairing your Bluetooth device again.
Hope this helps!
Issue was somewhat solved but now it's back
An update which came couple weeks ago kind of solved this issue. I had to restart my phone everytime i want to connect it to Bluetooth speaker. But it was better than nothing but now the latest update brought back the issue
same on s7
Hello,
Running Lineage 14.1 on my s7, have seen this since my first install on 7-5-17.
Bluetooth connection and pairing works fine, media audio works fine, I can play music and hear my gps and other items of media through the headphones. Phone audio is distorted and I can't hear the other person, they can't hear me.
I would very much like this problem solved, it's kind of important for my work, I might have to go to a non-aosp rom, which I do not like touchwiz.
For reference my headset is a Philips SHB6250, it's audio range is between 8 and 22,000 hz.
Thanks.
Dave.

Me too on Samsung SM-G531H
Hi,
Not sure where the issue exactly is, but I bet it must be down to the software itself.
I was using Spotify via bluetooth with my Renault ZOE - R Link 1 with no issues, but suddenly, and I think this was after the update to EMUI 10 (not 100% sure) while playing music over bluetooth to my car the music just pauses after a few seconds, sometimes it is 10 seconds, sometimes it is immediate. The same thing happens with youtube and built in music app, but it does not seem to happen while listening to records over facebook messenger or making calls - while doing so everything works as it should.
I have done the obvious which is resetting bluetooth settings and restarting the bluetooth service, deleting app cache and data, reinstalling spotify etc., etc.
The weirdest thing is, that my mate's iPhone works fine with my car, but also my phone works fine with other bluetooth devices, like JBL speakers or so.
I am absolutely clueless what could have happened there and I am also not that technical with Android, so here I am posting my first issue ever on this forum...
Device: Huawei P20 Pro
Model: CLT-L09
Build: 10.0.0.161
EMUI: 10.0.0
Android version: 10
