[Kiano Elegance 5.1] Dead phone, all tests passed - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys, sorry for my bad English but I hope you will understand my post
I have an old Kiano 5.1 Elegance phone (MT6580). It was broken for a while - freezed on logo after power on. I found matching firmware and compatible flasher: SP Flash Tool. I ticked format all + download. Everything went smooth.
Sadly, the phone is dead now. Even no logo on the screen. I connected it again and clik on Memory Test. All tests passed. Next I clicked Firmware Upgrade - failed with error "Unable to get PMT info". I tried with and without battery.
Also, Download Only and Format + Download is working. Just no turning on after flashing is completed.
Drivers updated with Autoinstaller for Windows 10 64bit.
Can I fix it on my own or just throw it away from the window?
Thanks fo any help.

[Q] Lenovo A660 bricked ?

Hello at all......
I came from Germany, so sorry for my bad english.......
From a Friend, i get an Lenovo A660 Android Phone, this Phone died during an update he made......
Only shows the lying Android with the sign.
I can boot it with luck, but then the Homescreen is lost, i only can make preferences.
I load the custom rom from cybermouse, get into the recoverymode and get a failure message ''not signed''
Then i can find the original rom, but i get the message about boot failure, sometimes i can install from sd card, but nothing happens.
i sit here on osx.........any ideas for an Apple boy, to solve this problem, and recover that phone ?????
Hi, I don't know if this is still up to date, ... anyway:
Theres a step by step instruction in cybermaus thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1874403
"Instructions:
By default, the ROM will not overwrite USERDATA or FAT. If you want a clean slate, first extract empty.userdata.rar and/or empty.fat.rar
- Read bgcngm flash tutorial.
- Read it again
- Start Flash Tool (v3.1222, in my Dev-Host)
- Load scatter file
- Take out USB cable and replace battery
- Press the download button in the flash tool
- Connect the USB cable
- Wait for the flashing to complete"
The most important thing is: http://bm-smartphone-reviews.blogspot.com/2012/05/mt6575-flashing-tutorial.html
You have to flash your phone first before you can install a custom rom!
(I don't know how to do it on osx... I've done it on Win with my Lenovo A660 and it worked!)

[Q] THL W8 Bricked?

Hi all,
please help me out because I'm desperate.
Yesterday I received a THL W8 mobile phone and I flashed it with the ROM reported on this thread.
Once done, my SD card wasn't recognized by the phone, so I decided to flash the same ROM again.
Unluckily, my bad, I didn't uncheck the PreLoader tick and as result now the phone doesn't boot at all.
The PC recognizes it and the drivers are ok, but when I try to flash a ROM, any ROM, I get different errors.
With SP Flash Tools version "SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1304.0.119" the bottom bar fills red fully (100%) but after about 40 seconds it gives me the following error:
S_FT_ENABLE_DRAM_FAIL (4032)
With the SP Flash tools version "AntiBrick_Flash_Tool_v3.1224.0.sn85" 3 seconds after the bottom bar gets filled in red, the following error is returned:
SP FLASH TOOL ERROR: (8200)
[Platform Error] The load and target are inconsistent!
I've also tried to flash the stock ROM but with the same bad results. More, I tried to do a reset with both the aforementioned Flash tools versions with success, but after that whenever I try to flash the phone with any ROM, I get the same errors as before.
Since the PC recognizes the phone I'm kinda sure it can be restored, but apart what I tried already, I'm out of ideas.
Any help is welcome
Thank you guys
Cheers
Heide
really? no one really answered the poor guy, the phone ended up bricked for good after all

[Q] H920+ Seems Dead but Detected by Windows

Hello to all community,
strange things happened here... I use a Star H920+ phone. I had some problems with Bluetooth and Wifi, so i decided to flash rom again. I downloaded the rom from needrom dot com. (As new user, i cannot post the full url yet)
I used Smart Flash Tools to do the job. Firstly i had some difficulties getting some errors. After some search, i used MtkDroidTools and i got the right sizes for memory and write them at scatter file. The procedure went well and i got a green circle at Flash Tool.
And that's it...
After that, i get the absolute Black. But... the strange thing is that the Windows detects the phone. I tried every combination to get into recovery mode, but nothing. Only black screen.
I tried Flash Tools again to flash it with the same or an older rom, but after the some seconds, the application is not responding and Windows says that the Smart Flash Tools application has stopped responding and must be closed.
MtkDroidTools doesn't recognized the phone now.
But, as i have it connected with the pc, the sound of plug and unplug a device is heared all the time. ( Maybe it is rebooting continuously )
I hope that the hoping thing is that Windows detects the phone, but i cannot do anything more...
Do you have any idea to propose me ?
Thank you very much,
Periklis

[Q] Hard Brick on MTK6589 (Jiayu G4T Advanced)

Hi! I really head your help!! I looked a lot around and followed lots of guides on how to revive my phone, but i've some big issue with it and i really hope that someone here may help me...
The Hard Brick (it won't turn on, it won't charge, it seems like he's totally dead) occurred the other day, i was trying to open googlemaps and the SP was really slow, so i turned it off, and then i wasn't able to turn it on again, at first it was stucked at the screen with the logo (before the splash animation, the logo that you can't normally change) then i managed to turn it on after 2 or 3 times taking off the SD card, but i got a corrupted homescreen, i turned it off again and then, after 2 or 3 times, i got the Hard Brick!!
Probably in my last attempts i created a bounch of errors in the rom that bricked my phone.
Here's what i've done to revive it:
- SPFlashTool 1332.0.187
- official drivers, recovery, rom, etc, from the jiayu.es website.
- removed the battery, manually installed the drivers.
- with spft i loaded the scatter file of the official rom and started the format:
the phone is recognised as Mediatek USB VCOM (Android) (COM3)
i always got the error: S_COM_PORT_OPEN_FAIL (1013)/B] (with every option available)
I tryied to download only the preloader.bin and the recovery.img but i recive the same error.
- someone give me an advice: to remove every old driver for the phone and leave the SPFlashTool to recognise the phone forcing the installation of the drivers. And i really don't get how to do it, the windows update automatically detect the device, if i stop the windows update i simply get an unknown device, the SPFT don't have a chance to recognise it and force the installation of the drivers.
Does anyone of you have a solution, a similar problem, a way to revive my cellphone?
I really can't effort another one XD

There is a guide right here
I already tryied to revive my phone with this guide, but with no success...
I was thinking that maybe someone can show me the right driver (with all the package of driver that i find i always have no idea which one i've to install)
And maybe someone already tryied to revive a jiayu g4a and know the name of the right preloader, 'cause apparently what i need to do is to download into the SP the right preloader to revive it...

[Q] Extremely Hard Brick... (Xiaomi Red MI 1)

Hello guys, it's nice to be part of this great community. My English are not that good so please be patient with my explanations.
Well , I'm quite desperate here. A friend of mine gave me this phone (Xiaomi Redmi 1) bricked.
First of all the mobile can't boot, it says tool dl image fail. Even worst I can't even select the options in the boot menu, the tool dl image fail appears again. That means the memory is almost empty...
According to my experience the solution was only 1, Flash tools.
But again , I tried the Firmware/Update option of these ROMs: Xiaomi Hongmi WCDMA (HM2013023_images_JHBCNAL5.0_4.2)/ TD (Hongmi_images_HBJ2.02_4.2) - unbrick 5.0 and....NOTHING!
If I choose the download option but the bar reaches only 1% and theen I have this : s_ft_download_fail (4008). I tried the HM2013023_images_JHBCNAH4.0_4.2 but with the same results.
An extra detail is that IF I choose the format option, althought it doesn't complete...my mobile doesn't open after that. In order to be working again, I just have to choose the download option (till the 1%) and the it boots with the above problems.
To be more clear I installed the necessary drivers, I removed them, I installed them again...NOTHING. I changed the USB port, the same results..
An interesting quotation is that if I try to connect the device with a different USB cable that the original, the pc doesn't even recognize it (mobile). Also, I've noticed that the flash tools cannot install these (from the scatter) : Android, Cache, UserData & Fat.
As for the CMW Recovery ... no luck at all. They are all in image format which means, I can not install it.
Any help will be appreciated....althought I'm pretty sure the phone is 99% dead..
Any news?
