Hi guys, after 2 years I take out my old tablet and want to restore it...it's a old qilive 97r model with rockchip 3188...I remember that those driver were a pain in the ass to make it work, especially now they I have last win 10 version. There Is a way to install them? I tried the various rockchip driver installer 4.4, 4.5...install work but when I try to start tablet in boot mode I get the classic error 43 in device manager...any help?

Hello xda
Yesterday I flashed the Alpha CM11 KitKat for I9505 and came to think of the whole "usable on older devices" thing.
Now to the question : Why isn't Android made like Windows for PC, where you have some standard system requirements, (minimum and average)?
Like every phone with 512 mb, 1 ghz and 2 gb space?
I know the screen and hard keys is a factor of changes, but isn't that the same as in the new laptops running Windows 8, with and without touch?
Thanks in advance

Hi I am a total noob when it comes to the Kindle Fire HDX. I have been trying to keep upto date as regards rooting this device (I have the Kindle Fire HDX 7") and like it except for the Operating Software.
When I look at threads regards to rooting I was getting very "noob confused" as regards to the OS versions because all I see (mostly) is reference to Versions 13.x.x.x or 14.x.x.x and could not undersatnd where the 13 or 14 came from because when I look at my version of OS all I see is 4.5.2 can not see a 13 or 14 mentioned on my Kindle.
So I had a good look at my Kindle and eventualy found that when I go to: settings, system updates and tap on the words "your device is running" I now see 13.4.5.2_user_452004220 there has been no mention on any of the threads regards how to get the full OS version so this is why I posted this.
I want to root my device but I am holding off because of the possible problems at the moment I intend to gather as much information before I attempt but I do think there will be a full proof way of doing it in the future especialy for noob's like me.
Can any member tell me if the 13/14 is the year ??
and what the number is after the word user ??
Short answer:
13 = kindle fire hdx 7'' = thor
14 = kindle fire hdx 8.9'' = apollo
22 = fire hdx 8.9'' (2014) = saturn
You can't root 4.5 yet.

Yes I was thinking that number would be some sort of Amazon build number.
All I have to do now is sit tight and hope for a good rooting package would love to get into android software and be able to do things I did work on Linux software many years ago when I worked with Honeywell but can't remember half the stuff I understand some basic commands but would have to get on a course to brush up on loads of things lol

UPDATE.
An OS update arrived to day 24th Feb 2015 on my Kindle HDX 7" OS was 4.5.2 now updated to 4.5.3 ( version Build 13.4.5.3_user_453011120)
But the funny thing is that when you tap on "learn more" as regards to new update it says version of OS is 4.5.2 no mention of the new update recieved to day so not a clue what this new upadate has done and can't see any difference to the HDX7.
Thought the above information would be of interest to developers on XDA.
ps/ my location is UK.
Hello guys, i want to install a custom rom to my xperia z2 but i have questions on my mind.Win10 is installed on my pc.Can i backup drm keys and open my bootloader lock on windows
10.Have you ever tried these features on win10
Most programs found or asociated with windows 7 will work on newer windows versions due to the similarity of windows 7/8/10
Yeah it's working fine with me
I flashed my Xperia Z2 several times.
All you need is to install it and it's drivers (like on the windows 8)

I think that it works fine also in Windows 10, make sure that you have installed the drivers
Yes it works on Windows 10. Just install the drivers
+1

Just disable driver verification and install the flashtool or something.
I see quite a few hardware specific questions on here, with people getting stuck on the Google logo, when attempting to dual boot into Ubuntu from Marshmallow.
I'm in the same boat myself, on a Nexus 7 [2013]. Trying the actual Boot to Ubuntu app just reboots to Android and trying MultiRom gets me stuck at the Google logo. So, just out of interest [as I suspect this isn't a device specific issue], has *anyone* with Marshmallow as their primary ROM managed to dual boot Ubuntu and, if so, what particular 'voodoo' worked for you?
I have a Nexus 5 and I have the same problem, I only see the Google logo.

Cm13 on N4. Same problem man
I am on chroma ROM in the nexus 4 with the latest build. I used the Ubuntu dual boot app provided from ubutu. I was able to install the 15.04 version and it booted perfectly.
Anyone had any luck with this using multirom?
Hello i would like to know if there is still any tutorial or way to installa windows 10 dual boot with miui on the MI PAD 4.
I still couldnt find any information about it
Mi Pad 4 uses Qualcomm Snapdragon so there's no way to install Windows 10.
There exists an own win10 version for ARM and Snapdragon uses the ARM architecture.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/arm/
https://developer.qualcomm.com/hardware/windows-on-snapdragon
But I dont know if someone has a running device with it or if it is finally released or just the version for some raspberry PCs..
I too would like to see a windows 10 for the mi pad 4 since I need it for work. Would be nice.
There's hope since there's supposed to be a version of Windows running on ARM, but by the time people start figuring that **** out, you'll probably looking at the Mi Pad 6 if tablets haven't died yet.
There does exist dual boot devices for both Windows and Android on Intel Atom-based tablets from like, 3 or 4 years ago if you can still find em
