Change Boot Logo (Splash Screen) - Xiaomi Mi A3 Questions & Answers

Anyone managed to change the Mi A3 splash screen? Tried with fastboot flash splash splash.img but the original image doesn't change.

Can someone send me the splash partition? I didn't backup :crying:
To dump the partition run as root: cat /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/splash > /sdcard/splash.img
Thanks

How did you changed that ?
I'm trying to find a way but didn't.
How to edit that file ?

I suspected it was empty :/
I found some bitmaps inside the imagefv partition.
The partition is a signed UEFI PI Firmware Volume. I'm still trying to figure out how to recreate the partition image with new bitmaps.

I am a newb... is this different than bootanimation?
yeah, the splash image is the white screen with HTC in green, its the first thing you see when starting up, the boot animation is the 2nd one, in this case, its T-Mobile and an android blasting off (stock). I'm trying to change the first one.

If you read the thread, using which the zips are created, you will see that only images with 72dpi is supported.
I guess, you used a image with higher dpi.
For now, flash stock ROM using odin, to bring back things to normal.
Anyway, flashing wrong bootlogo shouldn't hardbrick your phone, its just that you wont be able to see any bootlogo, but normal reboot should proceed then after.

Yes it happened with me also after using a pic of higher dpi and recovered it after flashing other bootlogo with 72dpi.

Simply remove battery, wait 5 minutes, insert battery again and try to boot in recovery then flash other bootlogo
It worked for me.

Question persist

Hello, I need urgent help. I accidentally wiped my persist partition and now the phone won't boot up. It just shows boot logo, then powers off, then back to the boot logo, and on and on. Someone help me out of this.

This is a persist image I have handy, from an ENG ROM, in case sometime I need it, I didn't use it myself, Let me know if it works.
Nobody should give you the persist.img because it contains private & unique id of each device

I followed some flashing tutorial online and ended up making the problem worse. Took it to the Care center yesterday, said they'd fix it, but I'll probably have to pay coz warranty won't cover that

You may solve it flashing an ENG firmware, probably.

Dude, what you guys need is that same file but from Color OS, because it could be hardware difference too... And it works normally on Color OS for this model, so it should technically work, if it is compatible with Oxygen OS
We need the odct.img file of original 11R OxygenOS devices. We can obtain the ColorOS IMG already.

I thought the issue is caused by ODCT not flashing when we flash Color OS to Oxygen OS.

Which is why we need the OxygenOS OCDT file.
But I'm wondering why @Rastatorba OCDT not working
