Indeed. Actually rooting is usually not a problem for official update, but manually modifying system file is. You have to go back to a frash install of B12 I guess (with a whole save of your personnal stuff before)

Rooting Compatibility Between the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 models SM-T530NU and SM-T530

Hello and good day everyone. I own an unrooted Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 SM-T530NU running stock Android 5.0.2 with the build number LRX22G.T530NUU3U1BOI2. I intend to root my tablet to Android 7.0 and install the custom ROM Cyanogen 14 following a post from user sub77 http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/development/rom-slimrom-5-0-1-alpha-0-7-t2963906. The rooting method works for the SM-T530--the international model of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1. Again, my tablet is the SM-T530NU--the US model. The similarities between the two is that they're both Wi-fi only. Based on this, is it possible to root my model using a method for the other one? Can I do it without any consequences?
It is normally a bad idea to use a different device rooting method than the exact one you own
on Samsung and international variants they normally have less security than the US models so the rooting method will probably just not work Samsung devices are hard to hardbrick as long as they are odin compatible try it if your device is odin compatible

Yes. My device is Odin compatible. And I successfully installed the ROM. I just want root access now, but I need to find a way to do it on cyanogenmod 14. Will Kingroot work?
Go to settings App and click build number 8 times and developer options will show up check root and choose root for Apps and adb there you go

It still wont confirm my root status even with that on. What else can I do?
Make sure you have root by using the root Checker App on Google play

I checked on Root Checker and it said that it wasn't installed properly on my device, so I flashed the stock firmware then rooted and installed 6.0.1 Marshmallow on my tablet instead. It's much more stable and has root access confirmed by Root Checker now.
OK glad to hear that you got it figured out

[Can I flash update firmware to a newer version in one go?]

What i mean is, my current phone is 5.1.1. Can I flash firmware it all the way up to 6.0.1? Or do i need to do it version by version?

If your device got a full firmware for 6.0.1 then flash it, nothing to worry about it.
BTW, which phone?

Note 5 AT&T N920A.
I falshed using this >
https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-note5/general/n920a-odin-firmware-n920aucs4cqb2-t3581129
It worked and fixed my phone as well with the logo looping.
Do you know, is there any methods at the moment to root my phone? I can't find it anywhere.

No idea about that.
Yes you could check AT & T Note 5 forum, if there's methods available then follow it and root your phone, otherwise stick with unrooted stock.

T-mo snapdragon note8, root, xposed? What are my options?

I have done some searching. I have a T-Mo Note8 on stock 7.1.1 firmware. I do not want to root and lose 20% battery. I cannot find any information currently for a good root method or a stable and supported xposed install. Is there a way to root and keep all of the phones capabilities?

ANE-LX2 on EMUI-Android 8.0.0 to Android 10

How can I update a Huawei P20 Lite (ANE-LX2) with 8.0.0.120 to any version of Android 10? Or, at least, 9.1 official. When trying to update officially with system menu it does not offer me any update. I have bootloader unlocked and is rooted, but apparently the Android 9-10 ROMs require EMUI 9 and I have EMUI 8. What can I do? I've been exploring forums for hours and I can't find something clear. I need to update EMUI version and Android version separately?

Unfortunately, there's no EMUI 9.1 Service ROM on androidhost.ru for region C636.
Try to update via HiSuite or via eRecovery .
(make sure to have the stock recovery flash)
I don't mind changing the region. In fact, I would prefer change it to EU. I can?
Hisuite and erecovery doesn't offer updates

And what about HiCare ?
Now I am on 9.1 with an official european OTA, have changed region from spceas to eu with dc-unlocker (this cost to me 2 credits), and with root. It took me a long time to get it, so I'm scared to upgrade to android 10 and lost my root. Any suggestion?

It depends on:
1. the type of root
2. whether you have Bootloader unlock code (it is not recommended to play with custom ROMs without BL unlock code).
In any case, you can install the following types of custom ROMs:
A) xxxxx-arm64-bgS(or bvS) with built-in SU (sometimes with SuperUser) ,then you need only install phh-superuser.apk to get root permissions
B) xxxxx-arm64-bgZ/bvZ with built-in enhanced dynamic root (you can enable/disable superuser root in phone settings)
I've bootloader unlocked. Type of root... I suppose magisk root. What is xxxxx-arm64-bg* ? This is a ROM? I can't find this

it is clear to me , but I asked about the unlocker key . In other words, can you unlock the BL again if necessary?

Yes, I can unlock BL again. Thanks, I will search. But now I have a new problem... on an asian P20 Lite (spcseas) g-sensors doesn't work if I install any EU ROM
If anybody knows what is the password of this file, I would be grateful:
ANE-LX2 9.1.0.209(C636E4R1P5T8) Full Stock ministryofsolutions.com
(Not "ministryofsolutions.com", as usual)
This is the only asian 9.1 firmware available without pay
¡Finally! I find an 9.1 asian firmware on an Turkey forum, previous registration. Installed via dload without problems, and g-sensors works. Now I will try to root...
