Hi everyone, I got a poco f1 from a friend. He used it quite normally. The cellphone was off for about a month - it didn't work. After a month I tried to start it however unsuccessfully, poco f1 is dead, I tried to charge it but it can't. What could be a malfunction? Help if you know and thank you very much
First, try using a different charging cable and brick. If it doesn't charge, Check if it can be read using a computer or laptop. If it still doesn't work, then the issue may be the charging port. If that's the case, if you are still covered by warranty, then go to xiaomi store. If not covered, go to a proper technician.
Btw if the device can be read on a computer, then it may just be a boot issue. Just flash again.
Does the white charging led light up when it's on charge?
If not, have you tried leaving it on charge for an extended period?
I've had difficulties with phones in the past after batteries have fullly discharged - eg the Moto G5 had some battery protection "feature" that stopped it starting up if it thought the battery was fully discharged - it was a bit over sensitive so would sometimes assume the phone was fully discharged when it wasn't
Try leaving it on charge for 24 hours or so then holding down the power button for for at least 20 seconds with it still on charge
If you have no luck and the warranty is out, get to a repair shop (or disconnect and reconnect the battery if you're confident to open it up - for a while I was getting sporadic shutdowns with my F1, following which it wouldn't take any charge, the battery light staying off when plugged in. This was all fixed by tightening the screws securing the black motherboard plate, the cover which retains all the connectors - not sure why but it seemed something, I suspect the antenna connection, had come loose. Since doing this about 5 months ago I've had no further shutdowns and my phone is usable again, having been completely unreliable before)
One trick that worked on some old Nokia phones was to charge it plugged to a computer instead of plugged to a charger - but as said elsewhere, if the battery is completely dead, YMMV.
Also, try to press and hold the power button and while doing that, plug the phone to the charger and then release the power button.

I guess your battery is dead
I have same issue, however I think my one is a motherboard charging IC issue. Does anyone know a way I can get it cheap from India, as I’m in the UK. India have it for around 9999 rupees which is about £10(+international shipping). I’ve ordered a charging port replacement from AliExpress to see if that solves the problem. However I don’t think that will work. No idea how my motherboard got damaged in the first place. I replaced a cracked screen myself and the phone was working fine for a few weeks, then it stopped charging all of a sudden. My PC also detects it/can access files doesn’t charge it. A new battery powered powered on the phone but again didn’t charge. Tried different adapters and cables too. Any experts out there know whether this is a motherboard issue or just a charging port issue?
If the phone is OFF for a month, then it is probable that the battery has gone down to a point that the BMS has shut it down. The BMS won't allow you to charge the battery because, in its own assessment, the battery is dead. Best way to test this case is to have another Pocophone with a good battery (or just a new battery altogether), detach the cable from that and test on yours. This may or may not work but this is one of the easiest to test and a new battery is easy to acquire.

Before you do that, just try leaving it in charge for 24hrs as suggested above, though it does look rather as if the OP has nicked off so won't be using any of these sage words!

yep mine also. i was playing genshin impact and suddenly it freeze and off. service center said it was dead motherboards.

I have no active warranty as an Aliexpress seller(3+ years a seller) vanished at Christmas. I've no issue taking it apart if I need to replace the battery. Watching a Youtube first dismantle video it appears I need a BN41. I'm going to go presume that my local multitude of phone shops won't stock that battery as I tried two and one asked "How do you spell that?" and another "a what phone?" so I won't be going down that route again.
Only reasonable price I could see online was some Eastern European country and using Google Translate I find these charge about €27 for the battery but it's not in stock anyway. Another is €48 in china. Seems a little expensive considering a Redmi 3 battery is about €7.
Anyway I'd prefer to see if it's software leading into a hardware problem as well before venturing down the route of battery replacement.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can see all the stripdown tutorials but alas none of them referred to the exact size of the screws so I ordered a Multi-tool. Hopefully it is just the battery otherwise it's the cost of the phone, battery, little multitool down the drain.
I did a very small driver to get one of the screws out(not exact fit) but the other wouldn't budge and I don't want to thread the head on the screw so backed off for now.

Hey BertieBaron, I'm having the same issue with my Redmi Note 4, I've bought a new battery from Iberaccess, opened the device and installed the new battery piece but it didn't solve the problem, still switching off as soon as I unplug it... it's driving me nuts!
Have you found a solution in the meantime? I'd be very glad to hear from you mate.

Confirmed to be no Water Damage by somebody with more experience than I. Was it dropped? It was a teenager so anything is possible but there was no evidence of such.
Yes guys i had the same problem now, stuck at zero Percent there's a RED light indicatingit's charging but still ZERO won t go up ...and once i unplug the phone from charger it turns off Instantly ....I foudn the Solution for that it s quite easy as u think .. all you have to do is :
1-unscrew the 2 screws bottom
2-becareful while taking off the cover u need to take off the Sim tray
3-and slowly take off the over there s the finger print sensor cable unplug it
4-once the cover is off u see 2 cable next to each other one of them is for the battery ...Doesn t matter remove them both and hold power button for 20 seconds
5- make sure u do keep holding the power button for 20 seconds .....do that like3 or 4 times to make sure no power is left inside the phone ..
6-plug everything except the sensor and power on the phone and check this worked for me
Once u see it worked turn the phone off and put back the sensor and get everything back to together .....Don t plug the sensor while it s turned on i have no idea if this damages anything!!

I tried to turn it on again and it worked, then obviously the battery ran out. Tried to charge it, the screen turned on with the "mi" logo, red led at the top but it gave me completely empty battery with no percentage. I thought it was the dead battery. I changed it to a new one and put it in charge. Now I see Mi logo and 47%, it does not charge the battery unfortunately. Stopped at 47% for hours. The battery therefore does not charge. Even if I connect the phone to the PC, the charge does not start and the PC does not recognize it. What could be the problem?

The seller assured me that the circuit is good. In the reviews people didn't complain about the fast charging problem.
I am using the original charger and before changing the charging port, it charged normal and fast.
In what sense to change ROM?

firstly i m sorry if this is the wrong section, i m new here.
Now to the issue. I have a Huawei P30 Lite with broken LCD. I replaced the LCD with an original Huawei service pack which included LCD, Frame, Earpiece, Battery, buttons etc. Basically it included everything except motherboard, charging board and coaxial cable. The problem is that after the replacement the phone is not charging. At first it was showing that it was charging without any success (% going down instead of up). After the phone battery drained, there is no charging at all.
Doing a full hardware check i noticed that there was indication of water damage on the charging port. I replaced the whole charging board. Still same result.
Reinstalled the old LCD pack (battery had some juice in it still for testing) with the same results. When the phone is turned on, i get a charging signal and the LED indicator but without actual charging. When phone is turned off i dont even get the LED indication of charging.
Steps i already took to save time:
Changed the charger. Used up to 2.1A charger with fast charge cable aswell.
Changed the charging board.
Tried both new and old battery, internal connectors etc
Cleaned the whole motherboard with alcohol to get rid of any debris even though there is nothing visible
The phone was working normally before the lcd replacement.
The phone is working perfectly with the remaining battery and was working perfectly until the new battery drained aswell. Only problem is the charging.
Cannot perform cache cleaning since battery is dead
Software upgrades, reinstalling etc will certainly not be of any help since the phone is not charging when turned off.
I am trying to avoid costly and time consuming repairs since the only fault i can assume anymore is human error which most likely i would have noticed during the repair. I cant accept that the main board died suddenly after a simple 2 part replacement and the only thing affected was the one that had water indication on it which didnt affect it so far.
I am looking for any kind of ideas since i am totally out of them.

I have started facing this weird problem with my Mi A3 yesterday that I only bought in June.
The problem is the phone does not charge. When connected the charger, it shows "Charging Slowly" and the battery percentage stays as it is. It has been plugged in for 8 hours now with no change in the battery percentage.
Ampere shows a charging current of 70mA while the same charger & cable on my wife's OnePlus shows 1800mA current. So it's not the charger! :crying:
I have tried a hard reset, I have tried 4 different charger & USB combinations, NOTHING WORKED.
Any help around this will be greatly appreciated!

None of the chargers are working. I've tried stock, OnePlus Dash, Moto Turbo, Samsung, everything.

Update - After a lot of struggle to not to reset my phone and an extensive research, I have wiped my phone clean and viola!
The charging works, it still charges slowly, but that's not as slow it was earlier.
I remember it seeing on screen 8 days untill full charge!
Now it's 6 hours to full charge, even with a turbo charger, 15W.
I will keep digging and posting the updates here.

Charging too slow... battery draining out fast
I am facing same issue with my mi A3 since yesterday. It is taking 8 hours for my phone to get fully charged also battery is draining out too fast. Seems like this issue arrived with July security update. Even I tried hard reset and several other chargers but issue still persists. Hope that Mi sends out bug fix soon.

I had to visit the service center within a month of purchase due to the above mentioned issues.
Apparently some electronic failure caused the connector to fail and stopped the phone getting charged up.
My device is under warranty and thanks to that, got the faulty parts replaced for free and within 2 hours.
Which hardware parts did they get to replace??, Also facing the same issue

They changed the charging port, as my device was in warranty, they did not charge anything!!
I've had the S23 Ultra (US, unlocked, from samsung.com) for a couple of months. I didn't root it, drop it, or splash it with water. I charged it last night, but when I woke up this morning, there was no sign of life: a black screen, no sound, no reaction to charging (even after long charging with a different charger and the cable), no reaction to a long press of Power + Vol Up/Down, and nothing detected in adb.
So I have a few questions:
Has anyone else had a similar experience with their device?
Any suggestions on how I could resurrect it?
Do you have any ideas about what might happen? Throughout the two months, I used the same old low-current (850 mA) Motorolla charger. The charger is still operational.
My current plan is to contact Samsung Support.

Have you tried using a higher capacity charger, like an official Samsung charger plugged into the wall? Have you tried a wireless charging pad to rule out an issue with the USB-C port? Samsung still uses the lowest grades soldier pennies can buy on their most premium devices.

Looks like you've tried everything basic and the phone's just dead. Could be a motherboard failure. Best to go to Samsung instead of breaking your head, as it's still under warranty. At least that's what I'd do in your position.

Try half an hour charging on wireless charger if you haven't tried yet
Saw this happen on a Note 4 back in the day. It wasn't really dead but in a weird power state. Fully charging for a few hours (even though it showed nothing) then holding power and volume up and down got it to reboot.

My old Note 4 went into this state and didnt manage to revive it with Power and Volume Up + Volume Down combo. The only sign that tells me it's not fully dead is the green notification light when I do the above combo.
About weird power states - I had Galaxy Buds Pro, which refused to take any charge - wired charging did not work and wireless either. Only way to revive it was to use wireless power sharing from the phone. Problem did not reappear later. Go figure...

Then i plugged the phone into REAL charger, waited for 2-3 minutes, phone was alive with all its glory.
Get a GENUİNE one with GENUİNE Cable, you are good to go.

Had this happen on my old s21u. Contacted support and told them I had done all the steps you did. They had me send it in for repair (was actually 2 months after warranty expired but they still agreed to repair it free of charge) and ended up changing the main board, usbc port and something else. Never happened again after (didn't change chargers or anything). So yeah, contact support that's your best bet.

It will be hard to do it if he can't even turn on the device i any way... No combination of buttons work, no way to turn it on with charger or ADB...
As its apparently either dead or in power-off state you could try to start it into download-mode by:
1. pressing Vol-Up and Vol-Down together and keep them pressed
2. plugging in a USB-cable connected to either a powered-on computer or a charger while keeping the buttons pressed
Normally it should boot into download mode (you can release the buttons after boot-up ).... Maybe this helps if the power button is broken....

Can't a power surge damage a device? It can happen either during a storm or by using a non-recommended charger. It can fry certain components, even though phones have protection.

No, it was like... My fake charger suddenly stopped working and my other phone recognized the charger + cable as a DATA TRANSFER DEVICE. It is really hard to describe the experience. No charging, my fake charger was recognized as something else..
The experience was... My S23 Ultra blacked out. I thought it was charging. Then, complete darkness. Didn't respond to power button.. Nothing. I thought it was bricked. Then i got up and found my other charger. Waited.. 10 - 15 seconds later my phone was back again. God i swear, i was shaking with sweat. It has been almost 1 month, my phone is just fine..
That day i decided to go with only geniue products. Maybe my phone protected itself by bricking itself. I really dont know.
To me it sounds like what you experienced was just an empty battery .... without juice in the battery the phone cannot do anything and the defective charger did not charge the phone while you thought it did....
Update from me: I scheduled an appointment from the Samsung site with an authorized service center (Best Buy). They checked my phone and said that they couldn't fix it if it wasn't turning on, and I had to send it to Samsung. That was unexpected.
I sent the phone to Samsung, and today I got a message that they could not reproduce the problem. I wasn't able to communicate with the service worker yet. My concern is that it could be a bad internal cable connection that restored the circuit due to the shipment vibrations. If so, and they will not check it, I could end up with a phone with a faulty connector that could die at any moment (hopefully during the warranty period).
It's also possible that being in the weird power state was fixed by simply letting the phone completely deplete of charge so that it properly turned off, recharging, then rebooting.
I had this problem on my old s7 edge. It seems that samsung never fixed this problem. The screen would stay completely black, unable to do anything until the battery completely drained. The device itself was never rooted or modified. Pretty disappointing it was never fixed.
I have a Redmi note 10 4g and it fell 2 weeks ago. After that it stopped charging, i could fiddle with it by plugging it in a few times though and it worked again for about a week. Mind you, nothing is broken as seen from the outside. Last week however it fully stopped charging. I could still completely use the remaining 80%. I fiddled alot and even cleaned the usb c port but nothing helped and eventually the battery go empty after using it. It does not detect the usb c at all. After that i ordered a phone repair tool kit from ebay for 11€. i opened the redmi note 10 4g from my sister (the phone has a completely cracked screen), took the usb c daughter board out of it and swapped it with the one in my phone. Despite this, my phone still doesnt charge. I could still see the empty battery logo when i long pressed the power button after the repair, so im fairly certain i didnt break anything on my phone.
So, is there any other thing despite the usb c daughter board that could be broken, causing the phone to not detect any usb c despite working otherwise?
Btw, I also did see the daughter board for 1 € avaivable on a website but i didnt want to wait for that, and the one from the other phone should be working

Yay! You're welcome.
Anytime you're inside and the battery is a year or older it's a good plan to change it out.
If the battery has reached 80% of it's original capacity it's degraded and should be replaced before it fails. Any swelling is a failure, if so replace it stat before it destroys the device.
Erratic fast charging is another sign of a battery failure.
