Relocking the Bootloader on 1+7T Pro - OnePlus 7T Pro (Regular & McLaren) Q & A

Hi everyone, first of all, thanks for reading and trying to help out.
I have a 1+7t Pro Indian unit. I unlocked the Bootloader on my device and installed Magisk but as I saw that there were not much benefits of rooting at the moment since twrp is not also available yet so no flashing of custom roms.
So I tried to relock the Bootloader. For that I Flashed the stock rom from scratch so that no modifications stay in the system and then tried "fastboot oem lock". This however got me into a bricked stage where I got following error:
"Your device is currept. It can not be trusted and will not boot."
This comes with a red exclamation mark and nothing happens means it gets bricked. I also tried "fastboot flashing lock". That did not work either. I did unbrick it without any issue but I want to relock the Bootloader just in case I need to sell the device.
Has anyone faced the same problem or could help me out here?
Any help much appreciated and thanks in advance!!

Same here when I was trying to lock bootloader of my 7T (non pro) yesterday. I figured out a solution. Simply download unbrick tool, connect device in Qualcomm EDL mode and flash proper firmware (choose between india and O2 (which mean global) firmware. After restoring firmware with MSM tool your device bootloader will be locked again.

Reset tamper bit

Hey!
Need help) After flashing custom ROM bootloader relocked and I can't unlock bootloader with 'fastboot oem unlock'. Says 'OK', but status doesn't change (tampered:false, unlocked:false).
I'm on Mac OS, so can't use Win tools.
Found solution for OnePlus 2 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/development/unlock-wipe-reseting-tamper-unlockbit-t3275223) and OnePlus One, but afraid to use em on X.
Please help!
Solved with Flashify (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cgollner.flashify). LOL. Hope will help someone else
If you have TWRP installed you can't unlock the bootloader. To unlock it Fastboot goes through the stock recovery (so I've heard) so without it it can't do it.

excuse me guys, can any one help me in getting the latest MM version.
I have now 2.2.1 and mine is ONEE1003 and i hve no backup of stock rom

can't OEM unlock!

hey everyone. trying to OEM unlock the TWRP bootloader. When I type "fastboot OEM unlock" it will reboot into TWRP bootloader, and nothing unlocks. I know this because when I type "fastboot oem device-info" it says "unlocked FALSE".
I have OEM unlock and USB debugging enabled.
This is a phone with previously successfully installed CM13, and now I'm trying to revert to stock/unrooted. I can't seem to flash the recovery at all here because I can't get the damn thing to unlock.
Any ideas?
Did you lock the bootloader ? If your flashing Roms and custom recoverys imagine its already unlocked. Bootloader won't lock itself. If you want full stock just flash any OS2 firmware with twrp. You can worry about stock recovery after. I would just leave the bootloader unlocked won't hurt anything.
I had the same issue not long ago. Finally, i used the mega unbrick guide, but warning, all the data is lost
Ps: Sorry for bad english
hey, thanks for the response. I have been following the following tutorial (and others similar for installing CM13):
(great, website won't let me post it here... it's the unlockr oneplus x guide)
so yes, I originally flashed the stock recovery and replaced it with the one from the tutorial. There were a few hiccups during setup, which may have affected why I can't easily update nightly now, so now I'm trying to revert to the unrooted stock state so I can try from scratch, hopefully fixing the issues I'm seeing now. The problem is that I can't flash the recovery using the stock recovery... I can't even update the damn recovery because it's locked. Is this what is meant by a 'soft brick' ?

Will this work on Mi 8 Lite ?
Yes this method works on all xiaomi devices
Hello!
Some people claim that locking up the bootloader on newer Xiaomi devices could brick the phone.
Does this information proceed?
Has anyone tested?

This video don´t show how to lock bootloader so the essential part is missed, maybe the guy is talking about but most of users won´t understand what he says and is not reflected on the options that he is using.
If you want to lock bootloader using MiFlashTool then at time to flash a stock rom you have to check on "Clean All and Lock" option down at the right in the tool.
Locking bootloader can´t never brick device by itself, the problem is that some users tried to do it using a custom rom, a custom recovery, rooted or with a cross-firmware that was not released originally in the device and happened that after device was locked again then refuses to boot to android system so bootloader detects that some partition/s was/were altered.
If you only unlocked bootloader and you are using all stock and non rooted you can relock it without need of use mi flash but using only the typical fastboot command
Code:
fastboot oem lock
then check if it was correct with
Code:
fastboot oem device-info
BUT never try to lock it of this way if some non-stock file was flashed and currently using on your device be custom rom, custom recovery, root, logo, custom kernel, etc.

Thank you, bro!
All my doubts are clear now!
you cant lock bootloader if you firmware was originally chinese and you have changed to global..
if your firmware was global and you unlocked , yes you can lock it again using flashtool and oficial GLOBAL fastboot rom, developer or stable..:good:
Hello, I've been trying to unlock my Mi8 Lite for a while (bootloader) but it is always stuck at 50% on MiUnlock, I've tried multiple drivers and disabling driver signature in Windows 10. It never gets beyond that point and always shows a '-1' error. Did anyone encounter this or better yet solved it? I've searched many times on Google and Youtube but with no success.
I had requested an unlock from Xiaomi and disabled all my other devices from my account.
Any help would be appreciated as this has become unnecessarily complicated, Thanks!

Check again if it´s correctly binded your MiAccount on Developer Options and try with other MiUnlock version.

Yes, I had the same issue and got it solved by using Mi Unlock on another PC. My main PC is using AMD Ryzen 2700 CPU, my laptop Intel Core i7-4712HQ. Wasted like 2 hours on my PC, while it worked first try on my laptop. Please note, the software told me to now wait 360 hours - it didn't unlock right away (this looks like expected behavior).

You can flash fastboot ROM and set to clean all and lock, then the bootloader will be locked by a script from fastboot ROM

Once i unlocked the bootloader, after i set a new password and fp it just kept saying that i need to enter my password every 0 hours. Tbh it did warn me when i accepted the oem unlocking that security features like fp, face recognision and find device will be disabled. So here is the question, is there any way at all to lock the bootloader without factory resetting?
P.S. : I have flashed twrp and miui 12, because i destroyed the miui 11 [:

FIX BOOTLOADER

Samsung has relockbootloader messed up, won't be able to unlock it again???
Specifically, before my samsung A115F had unlocked bootloader and root, because of warranty issue, I locked bootloader + unrooted and reinstalled stock rom then brought it under warranty, now I want to reopen unlockbootloader to root but in bootloader mode the "device unlock" line is gone so there's no way to unlock bootloader, i have tried updating or reinstalling frimware, or downgrading rom, etc..vv... but all to no avail. , I'm really feeling stuck looking forward to a high school teacher, help !!!!!!

Question Relock issue

Hi, I'm trying to relock my phone but I can't get it to boot, 1 logo and Android logo below appear and then it shuts down and reboot to this screen again and finally I end up in recovery. If I unlock my phone I can get it to boot properly.
I suspect a wrong vbmeta. I'm on A14, I've searched everywhere trying to find the appropriate one, but no one works.
Any help?
Hi,
Did you read this one:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/stuck-on-red-dot-twrp-screen.4405605/
I had the same problem and tried everything but IMPOSSIBLE to relock bootloader.
Out of last hope, I tried to flash all the partitions of A17 with mtkclient but my phone was then completely bricked (couldnt even access to fastboot or the chinese error message)
Send it to oneplus customer service and they fixed it for free. It would be so nice to have an unbrick tool or a relock bootloader method (the one with mtkclient presented on this forum doesn't seem to work all the time)

Yes I read that but that's not exactly the same. I wasn't stuck at this boot logo, I mean the red dot. I was stuck "before".
Anyway I've fixed it.
I've fixed the problem.
Originaly I was rooted on A14. I've managed to update to A17 while rooted.
Then I relock the bootloader with the tutorial you can find on the forum.
I had multiple issues rooted. My phone seems much more stable now relocked.
I think all the issues I had where caused by inapropriate boot.img or vbmeta.img.
It can be tricky sometimes to find these files matching your oos version.
