Hi there
I have a big problem with my phone, every time that i try to save a program on memory card i can't access the icon, it appear like corrupt and impossible
to find the program.I can access the program from my phone using the file explorer for example:
Memory card/program/ if i do it this ways it work's but not from the program section.
At the beginning i thought that was a problem with my memory card,so then i've bought another new one, Sandisk but i still have this problem!
Is it a problem of my device for example the slot of the memory card?
Does anyone had my same problem?
Please Help Me!
Can someone help me please!!!

I have never installed the program to microSD... I always install to device. I am not sure how you can fix your problem. I am sure someone on the board will know what's going on.

Hi tetsuokaneda,
Your problem was broken link between shortcut file and executable file of your application!
You can use File Explorer to:
- Delete some died shortcut in "/Windows/Start Menu/Programs/".
- Go to "/Storage card/Programs/Your Applications" and make a shortcut from executable file again
- Move a new shortcut to "/Windows/Start Menu/Programs/" folder
You can check by press Start/Programs, if it shows the right icon it is possible to active. If not, you have to soft reset you device. Event, you must Hard Reset!
Lucky!

maybe this ROM you are using doesnt support installing programs to microSD. try flashing to a different rom and formatting your micro sd and see if it happens again.

Hi,
i updated mi SGS 2 to LPQ and i have those three problems.
the first thing i see is i dont get the welcome screen, i dont care this screen, but i get it as a symptom of my problem.
the second thing and the most bothering is that i cant get the lockscreen.
and the last thing is that when i press the lock button instead of showing the shutdown menu it shutdown.
i know this problems where present in the betas, but i flashed today a phone of a friend y he doesnt have any of these problems.
does anybody knows someway to fix this?
thanks!
Is this serious? If it is, just put in your information as it asks you to and it'll go away...
Edit: It seems I misread your post, but jk0l is right, it's probably your efs. Look for a the thread about how to recover your IMEI
Your efs is missing something.
There was a solution posted somewhere.
Sorry, cant recall which thread was it.
Try search the whole forum.
thanks jk0l i will search that.
i remember that i have read something about permissions, but i could find it...
*sigh*....
This is the THIRD separate thread (not counting the solution thread, and actually one other) I have seen on this issue.
Go here.

Ok. Open up root explorer, long press the keystr file and open with text viewer. Does it have 'ON' written there?
Sent from my GT-I9100T
yes it does.
i also deleted the current file, reboot, created a new keystr file, and didnt worked.
i dont know if it is related, but my phone was one of the phones with USB problems
and also de imei problem, from time to time i lost the imei and i must to restore the efs folder.
So if you restore your efs folder do.you still have the problem?
Does restoring your efs show you your correct imei?
I also had this problem for over a month and couldn't fix it. When I copied the keystr & mps code files into the efs folder it fixed the problem. Make sure your keystr file name is all lowercase.

Alright. Try this!
I have attached the 2 files from the imei folder. Copy paste to your folder.
But you need to rename them to:
- keystr.txt to keystr, take out the .txt from the end
- mps_code.txt to mps_code.dat, replace .txt with .dat
If your phone needs to overwrite the old ones let it.
If you are on PC, just right-click the files and 'save as' to you PC, then move to your phone then use root explorer to move to the efs folder.

Hi,
I am having the same issue and have copied the 2 files into my efs folder.
Still the problem persist. Also, with the issue that the lock screen doesn't appear, if there is a sim lock pin required, i will not be prompted as well.
and yes, i still have my IMEI intact.
Please advice.

It's the NFC notification.
You can turn NFC off in settings and the notification goes away. Just turn it on when you want to use it.

I had several phones with NFC and none of them showed this ugly symbol. Must be a HTC thing. The worst is that Google Wallet is anyway deactivated by AT&T. So it is pretty useless except for exchanging data with Google beam.
Does anyone know how to remove the icon from the status bar without disabling NFC?
I found a thread about disabling it on the Galaxy Note II, but it doesn't work for the One X+.
This is what you do on the Note:
"This can be edited in the feature.xml file (located in "/system/csc/feature.xml") under the NFC the Statusbaricontype should be changed from ATT to none."
Perhaps there's a similar method for us.

The process isn't exactly similar, but the icon can indeed be replaced. The icon is found in the Nfc.apk package in /system/apps. Open Nfc.apk with the archive manager of your choice and replace the stat_sys_nfc_vzw.png file located in res/drawable-hdpi with an icon that is a bit more pleasing to the eye (I've opted for a transparent image myself). I've attached my modified Nfc.apk; it is from an AT&T HOX+ so I can only recommend using it with that variant (but who knows!).

I still have one question, however. I've opened and explored your apk and see your 1x1 transparent .png, and I also see how you edited the .apk.
My question is, how do you go about flashing it and replacing the stock app?

You can either use adb and the push command. Or you can use a file explorer, delete the original first, then copy the new one over. Finally set it's permissions to rwx-rxx-rxx.

Hmm...I'm using Root Browser Lite (I currently don't have access to a computer with the Android SDK installed). I deleted the original Nfc.apk, and it seems to have removed the app from the phone (or uninstalled it, I suppose), however the original .apk still appears in the /system/app/ directory according to both Root Browser Lite and OI File Manager. Furthermore, when I try to copy the modified Nfc.apk, I get a message saying that a file by that name already exists, so I just ask the phone to overwrite the existing file. It starts thinking about it for a minute or two, then says that the operation failed.
As it stands, I have the original file in the original location, albeit unistalled and no way to install it, as I get the "App was not installed" Message when I try to install it.
This may be a dumb question, but am I able to use the Terminal Emulator app to issue the adb command you suggested? If not, Do you have any other suggestions to get me out of this hole I've dug myself into?
Edit: I've succesfully moved the edited file to the correct location!!! I used ES File Explorer. However....I still can't install. I've done everything including changing the permsissions....it just won't install.
Thanks ahead of time!

I've done both of those things now, and still the NFC options don't show up in the menu. It makes the menu look rather lonely.
Just wondering if any further developments have been made regarding this issue. It makes me sad every time I think about how my phone is probably one of the only HOX+s out there that's incapable of using its NFC hardware.

Yeah thanks for the tip!..I forgot I could extract it from the zip I downloaded..
Its weird that the app disappeared from system folder as well.. Anyway thanks a ton!
i wasn't saying you lied...
i said you should get the downloaded omega file, open it (pc\phone doesn't matter) and extract only the SecGallery2_Galaxy.apk located at system\app\ inside the omega zip and than copy it to your /system/app and make sure permissions are the same as all the other apk's in this folder.
make sure you mount r/w on so you can copy the file.
My phone is telling me I have a limit space so I go look at what is taking up space and it says just over 9 GBP of miscellaneous files, so when I look at it it shows one with 5.05 GBP of usage but it is labeled "0."
Any ideas to what this is or if I can delete this file wothout bricking my phone?
Any thoughts guys?

I am also wondering if I can delete CWM for now, as I don't plan on loading a new ROM, and if I do, I would would rather use TWRM

is it just one file or any folder of that name?
you may try to search the file by it's name using any file explorer.
It looks like it is the "0" directory, which is what Android uses for emulated SD card. "/storage/emulated/0"
If it is showing something different than what you actually have in your internal emulated SD card, you may have to do a factory reset.

I have found the file within the system, and it essentially put all of the old stuff from when I was running CM 10.1 into it and then put it into the emulated directory.
Just if you're not yet's solved you problem

My phone is telling me I have a limit space so I go look at what is taking up space and it says just over 9 GBP of miscellaneous files, so when I look at it it shows one with 5.05 GBP of usage but it is labeled "0."
Any ideas to what this is or if I can delete this file wothout bricking my phone?
Any thoughts guys?

Hello !
i'm new to xda
I've got that problem before
It happens when you swap SDs (i.e:extSdCard==>sdcard) & delete a file
so the free space still becoming smaller until it becoms 0
the solution is to RE.Swap the SDs
it may not work for you !
Press Thx if i've helped you

Hello !
I mean by ''reswap'' is to remove that script from init.d ''11extsd2intsd''
i've done some tweaks to that script (now that problem was disappeared for me)
but i can't publish that script (the main devlopper is telling us to don't publish it if it was tweaked)
Sorry, if it doesn't work for you !
