Android Launcher without app uninstall feature? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I'm looking for an android launcher that doesn't have the function to uninstall apps. I just want to be able to uninstall apps in android settings. Do you somebody may know one?
Thanks

[Q] Turn off vlingo/voice talk when you double tap the home button?

So if you double tap the home button vlingo/voice talk pops up, is this something you can turn off with some sort of setting? I know that before ICS it wasn't possible, but hoping that maybe ICS brings this option?
Also i know you can freeze the app with titanium backup+root, but just wondering if there now maybe is a setting for it instead.
I have the nordic version of ICS and I was able to simply uninstall voice command. It seems like it is not a system app anymore...
I can't uninstall Voice Talk on my Galaxy S2 Nordic ICS. Can't even disable it. Samsung has written to me, that it's not possible to do so. Is your GSII rooted?
root, use root uninstaller or similar or any file explorer with root file capability and remove file manualy.
you can uninstall vlingo without root.
if you use apex launcher, simply click and drag the voice command app in the app drawer to the top and it will let you uninstall it!
should probably work with other launchers that have drag to delete functionality.
Yaay, uninstalled it using Go Launcher, I'm rooted but don't know if made the difference.
Also works with apex, nova launcher and probably other launchers that have a drag-to-trash uninstall feature. (I have a non rooted ICS SGS2)
Just remember to back up your app before uninstalling (voice commands app). just in case you change your mind later
for now, good riddance vlingo!
Doesnt work
I have tried the launchers and they dont unistall this app does anyone else have this problem?
You HAVE to use the launcher's drag and drop method to uninstall. If you try to uninstall through the app manager there's no uninstall option available
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
I was able to remove it from my S2 running ICS using the "Go Launcher APP"
You can find the instructions here

blocking uninstall apps

hello. I need ann app that block the desinstalation of apps from my android but i dont want that every time that i launch the app, to put the password.just if someone try to uninstall it.thanks

Why do some apps root themselves in the system (make themseleves ununinstallable)?

Hi
I was trying to clean up my phone's storage and came to keyboards. I tried many of them before and now I want to uninstall what I won't use anymore. Isn't that convenient??
So there are these two keyboards that I can't disable or uninstall, gboard and AOSP keyboard. I can't disable nor uninstall them, because they're system apps now -_- that's obnoxious.
I remember installing them myself!
I've seen some adware that has the same behavior on other devices. It adds extra crap onto firmwares!
Is it something wrong with my phone? Or does any app developer have the ability to create "system" apps!?
I'm using Honor 6x running Android Nougat 7.0.

these two keyboard apps are mostly preinstalled in system. you might have just updated them.

They didn't exist on my phone before i downloaded them. I can't even uninstall any updates for these apps.

Oppo Reno 10x Not Allowing Launcher to be Uninstalled

This is talking about the Chinese version of the device, PCCM00.
I remember using ADB and debug mode when the phone first came out to uninstall the ColorOS since it kept me from using Nova Launcher, but now, when I attempt to uninstall the launcher using ADB Shell and the command "pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.oppo.launcher", it says DELETE_FAILED_INTERNAL_ERROR. I can still uninstall other system apps and see them erased. There are a couple that tell me the same error, but this is the one I'm concerned about. Has anyone had any problems uninstalling that one? Is there a work-around? Or a specific reason this is happening? Is there a solution?
I have the same version and haven't made it yet. Would also like to have the Nova Launcher.

Yes, due to their integrated work among their apps, they have made it hard to get some components removed. I too expect companies to have modular behaviour in their software!
Even if you make another launcher your default launcher, for example Nova Launcher, then there are some flickering and animation issues (specifically when swiping to go to homescreen) which is a problem created by OPPO and Nova can't do anything more to solve it.
The default launcher also runs in the background continuously, despite trying to shutoff all its integrated services like search, widgets, Lockscreen magazine, etc
Because of which at the end, I'm using its stock apps

How can I tell if an app is pre-installed on Android?

Is there any way in Google Play Store or Settings > Apps to determine if an app is pre-installed on Android?
Yes, you can just look at a specific application, if your device does not enable you to uninstall, it is a pre-installed device.
In a pre-installed device, you can only disable the application but can't uninstall it.
I hope you find it useful, and if I come across any applications, I will make sure to share them with you.

Well it's not as simple as that. You can always uninstall updates and revert back to the pre-installed (ROM) version.
I frequently have to uninstall Google and Google Maps to allow me to install updates to other apps because the calculation of the space required in Google Play Store and more so in Samsung's Galaxy Store is flawed. Once I have updated the the other apps, I update the Google apps to bring them up to date. I know that with those two apps I won't lose any data or settings as these are stored in the cloud of my Google account.
However, sometimes it is necessary to do something similar with other apps in order to update them but if they are not pre-installed and you uninstall them, you lose any configuration and settings when you reinstall. It would be nice to know in advance which apps are pre-installed and will therefore likely retain data and settings if you revert them and then update them.
As a side note, it always amazes me what is pre-installed in one phone and has become obsolete by the time that phone's successor comes along.
