did you find any answers ? I'm searching the same. But for Gigaset 290
Same here.
Would love to buy a Gigaset GX290 Plus (the successor, see the official site), but only if i could use Lineage OS.
Nothing? The Gigaset GS290 seems to be very similar and with this device, it seems to be possible.
I've created a thread with some questions concerning Lineage OS and the GX290 (Plus) here.

@Voodooviking:
What's with this site? It's about the GS290, that shares mostly (but not all) the same Hardware.
I think it's very possible that this procedure might work on the GX phones, but that's not for sure. It doesn't seem like anyone tested it. Well, it's a not-so-common phone - but i was hoping to find some skilled devs here that could elaborate a little about this.
Also, as much as i find the /e/ Project interesting, i'd rather prefer Lineage. Will the instructions (and files) provided for the /e/ Setup work with Lineage, too?
But thanks for the link - if i'm really going to get this phone (still not sure) and a proven backup routine exists, i might give it a try. Maybe.

I am new to this forum, and could not find a thread regarding this. If there is one, feel free to link to it and close this thread.
I wish to install Lineage OS onto my Honor 5X, as it is unbearably slow, and only 8 months old. I was recommended to install a custom ROM instead of just buying a new phone, and thought that it sounded interesting, but I do not know how it is done.
I have found the Download link for Lineage OS on download.lineageos.org/kiwi
But from here, I am clueless about what to do.
Can any of you point me in the right direction?

Hi,
why there is no a Android One pure ROM, managed like Lineage OS (for many phones, with updates, with a main web site, etc) ?
Thank you
You can always build your own? That's what xda is for, learning and doing. :good:
Lots of help to get started here, https://forum.xda-developers.com/chef-central/android

Hello. I've just recently received my UMIDIGI F1 Play in the Mail, and it's pretty safe to say that I'm stoked. Super smooth, and really fast. Much better than my previous Phone, in my Opinion. So: I'd just like to know of compatible ROMs (Besides Stock, of course) that some of you may be using, or just know of. I've seen "Eragon", I believe it was called, and I think I recall someone talking about how they got HavocOS working, but that's as far as I know when it comes to this Phone and its Custom ROMs. A response will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.

Thanks a lot for the reply! I forgot I'd even made this thread, so I eventually figured out that the F1 Play supports GSIs (as it is a treble device). From there, I went nuts. Tried a ton. To anyone reading who has yet to find one that works for them: try a CAOS or BlissROM GSI under the "Project Treble AB/A Roms" forum on XDA. Heard Havoc works great, too, but I tested those first two myself, and they work wonderfully. Just make sure to read up on how to use ADB & Fastboot to flash GSI images, if you don't already know.

Can you please provide more info on your experience? Are these ROMs realy working that flawlessly, or you discovered some bugs? I'm tryna to decide which is better in terms of stability
UPD: wow, looks like i replied to a deleted member
Ive been rooting and tinkering with various different android phones for years now . Motorola has always been my favourite when it comes to rooting . Now my question is now what? I would love to finally pitch in on development starting with this device seeing as there is very little on this one as far as custom roms and what not. This device reminds me of the G7 Power with the A/B format. I was looking in on possibly bringing Ubuntu Touch to this device and as far as i can tell I just would need to make a halium kernal for it . Can someone maybe help me or tell me how incan possibly help on makimg that happen? Please bare with me . This is my very first time posting on this website . Im very savy when it comes to the android, ios and computers in general , Im running the stock rom and have done very little besides install some root apps. I would love to help out with any kind of development so please someone let me know . Ill be regularly checking my notifications and messages . Cheers!
I'm not a programmer, but I'd love to have LineageOS on my device. I haven't had the opportunity to play with Ubuntu Touch, but I assume that the F-droid store alone surpasses the app development for the Ubuntu Touch. Have fun!
Im suprised more people arent all over this device like when the G7 came out ....this device is awesome and the battery life alone is enough reason to want to buy it ...Guanma FTW!!

What i found appealing about Ubuntu Touch is i recently read that you can now run android apps on it and i totally agree Lineage would be awesome and an obvious first step to take with this device now that we know it can be rooted...also TWRP development is a must
So far I'm really happy with it. The only thing is with how big it is, people with smaller/weaker hands are going to have a tough time. Good to know about Ubuntu Touch supporting android apps!
I too just got a G Play (2021), after spending the past 8 yrs. with my beloved HTC Ones (m7,m9). Ironically, it was Motorola that I left for HTC. I've been somewhat impressed with this phone's performance in stock bloat (I mean stock TRIM). I came in here today not expecting to see much, if anything, on this phone; but I've found enough info to get me started.
TY XDA, for all your hard work.

I believe the OP use followed this guide.
[Guide] Root Motorola with Magisk (UnLocked Bootloader)(Non-TWRP method)
Root Motorola Devices with Magisk Note: This method has been working with most Moto Devices that the Bootloader can be UnLocked. If the Bootloader cannot be Unlocked this method will not work. Please only use this as a reference. If you require...

I have a new Moto G Stylus Metro. Anything for this yet?
I picked up one of these bad boys on a pretty deep discount to use as a dedicated retro gaming device. I’m interesting in tinkering a bit and am wondering if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions on a good rom choice for my use case ? I’ve already gotten my unlock code and I’m pretty much ready to go at this point !
Most people say CorvusOS and EvolutionX are good gaming ROMs, they both seem to be fast. Some people talk about some sort of ROG gaming rom, though ive never heard of it, or tried it.
But, uhm... upon looking at this devices page.. there aren't ANY custom roms available for your device.
Wow really? That's unfortunate.
Is there any point to Unlocking and installing TWRP / Rooting my device then?

I fiundbthat this is a device good for being your experimental toy-around gadget for tweaks and other such root related changes fun to play around with what you can do but from what I know so uncommonly rooted or used by devs that have any influence on the releases of these roms to really give you the full experience of having a rooted device.

You can root it for kernel optimisations and debloating, while also giving you more customisation control over your device.
TWRP is available, so rooting should be possible with magisk.
