I get myself a Samsung Galaxy SIII GT-I9300T a few months ago. I bought it from Bangkok, Thailand. And I live in Malaysia. That means : my phone doesn't have warranty anymore.
I just rooted my phone last Monday. And now I'm planning to flash this rom - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43677412#post43677412
And I checked in the google, someone said that I have to unlock the bootloader in order to flash custom rom.
My question is : do I have to unlock boot loader to flash custom rom ? ( I have already rooted my GT-I9300T )
Seniors, please help me. I hope that someone will answer me, please don't ignore me. Thank you. All the best for you.
No. You to not need to touch the bootloader at all.

The only difference with the "T" model is it is optimised for Australian frequencies, standard i9300 Roms work fine, and the modems work ok but if you go to the modem thread you can grab the modem/Ril for the T variant you will be optimised for Australia

Only US Verizon has locked bootloader.

Nope. Only official ROMs should include modems. When you flash custom ROMs, modem is left untouched.
SOME custom ROMs may have an option to (or force) modem flash, but this will be seamless so you wont have to do anything special.

Not really. The G900A (AT&T version) has a locked bootloader which means the kernel and bootloader cannot be changed. I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. There are certain G900F (International version) ROMs that can run on the G900A, but it's still the G900A. For those ROMs you should go to the G900A threads to get more information and ask this question there to get better responses. This is the T-Mobile forum.
Sorry

Again, we need to know exactly what it is you want to do. Then we can advise. You have a G900T and it cannot be a G900F although it can do similar things. Exactly what are you trying to accomplish?

I have a T-Mobile S5 and am using on AT&T with Omega rom which is basically a G900F rom. But I still use the G900T's modem and boot loader. It works very well that way and is not very hard to do. If you go over to the G900F threads and read some of the ROM threads (such as Omega) it will explain how it's done.
Good Luck!
If I've helped please push the "Thanks" button

Galaxy S8 Plus SM-G955F
Galaxy S8 Plus SM-G955N
Galaxy S8 Plus SM-G955U
Galaxy S8 Plus SM-G955W
And my phones model number ends with a U

Don't even bother. There's no U model listed in the list of models. I think all the 8+ models for the U.S. are U, which was not in the list.

We are trying to tell you that if you try and execute this root method you will likely brick your device.
Don't ask for help and then argue with the people providing it.
IT WILL NOT WORK FOR THIS DEVICE

Chainfires thread on the xda forums sxroll down to where it says cf auto root homepage click it
Scroll down to liat of odin flashable devices you will see sm-g955u
so again how will this brick the phone? Its linked from xda to his official page. Hasnt chainfire been instrumental in rooting countless phones in the past? How is he all of a sudden untrustworthy?

Damn it slimberg. You are clouding the issue with logic.
Doesn't really matter if the model number is supported, the software version also needs to be supported, which it isn't.
Regardless, don't you think that if a viable root method for this phone was available, that it would already be posted on this forum and that ROMs, Kernels and the like would now be available?
Just a thought

I just read this article and thought I would share it here

Seems like Samsung is closing down Odin and custom roms to the best of their ability. If you are in the US and flash the unlocked USA version it will brick your device.

Doubt of this BL3 patch.
For example, My model was N950U and, Flashed N950U1 with BL1 or BL2.
If I flash N950U1 BL3 enabled stock firmware, My phone locked out to N950U1 model? Even though my original model was N950U?
