Hi everyone,
I'm confused about a problem I'm having with the GeForce Now app being unable to run on my LG V30. As far as I've been able to gather from internet articles, my phone meets the requirements (and Google didn't block me from downloading the app to begin with....). Here are some specifics about my phone:
Android 9, Software version US99830b, security patch Aug. 1, 2019
Magisk systemless root — Magisk 20.3 — Preserve Force Encryption disabled; Preserve AVB 2.0/dm-verity disabled — Magisk Hide enabled
A few months ago when there was excitement in the community about V30s possibly getting Pie, I couldn't restrain myself and opted not to wait for an official release. I found this XDA page and followed the instructions for Oreo users. It worked out, and now I'm here.
I've only tried GeForce Now v5.25.27942475 so far. I should also clarify by letting you know that I tried the APKMirror download and I got the same result. So my thread title is a little lacking in info. Sorry.
Any ideas or help would be so very appreciated
I have a completely stock Android 9.0 and it works, so it's probably because you have modifications.

Saw your post so I installed GFN.
Yes it works and I'm amazed! Also want to add that I'm rooted, did not use Magisk hide.

There are two kinds of root methods. System and systemless...
System method makes changes to your system partition while the systemless one just changes your boot partition to get the root.
Normal xposed works with system root but not the systemless root so we have systemless Xposed.
As for advantages or disadvantages, I can't say much on that topic
Magisk is a way to obtain systemless root on devices (Chain fire SuperSU can also provide the same thing).
Until version 6 of magisk, the magisk app had a toggle inside the app to turn root on or off anytime. It had the advantage that if an app detected root and did not run, you could just toggle the switch and use the app. Quit the app and turn root on again.
Beginning with ver 7, this functionality was removed. Can't say anything about it now. Have not followed it in a while.
As for installing it, google it and you can find many tutorials on how to do it.

It can be used to install mods systemlessly that supports it like XtremeMusic and more. Search for it.

Hi Everyone,
Alot more apps seem to be detecting root nowadays, and after Googling solutions I can't seem to find anything that works anymore.
I used to just deny the app in SuperSU but this doesn't seem to work anymore with the Sky Q app and Android Pay.
Im currently using Pixel.
Does anyone have any apps or methods?

Use Rootcloak Xposed module to hide apps detecting your root. Add apps that you want to stop detecting root.
Download it from here. You need to install Xposed framework.
http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.devadvance.rootcloak2
Brilliant, does it work with Android 7 though?

Unfortunately both Xposed and Rootcloak not supported to android Nougat.
You can use hide my root app developed by amphoras to hide root access. Download from play store. I don't know it supports android Nougat.
Developer not given information about Nougat compatibility. Try and see
If it helped. Please thank me.
Iv already tried it, didnt work. Hopefully something comes up soon

Use suhide app developed by famous android developer chainfire.
It can hide root on per app basis.
It is in experimental stage and it supports to android Nougat.

Confirm magisk manager app still working on S9+ (use menu: Magisk Hide)
Oddly enough version is OPR6.170623.017 and not OPR6.170623.019 as in the OTA
even more odd that i get a update notification after installing the .017 build from the google website. telling me to dl another 991mb oreo update? info in settings shows im on .017 build with sep 5 security patch. not gonna try that out though.
anybody else got the same ?
That's the oddity of Google I guess. We all got the OTA (991Mb) 019 after 013/017 versions.
If possible, could someone provide the 019 OTA. It's not listed on the OTA page and it looks like there may be problems with the 017 build. I can't pass a safetynet check using the 017 build even though I'm 100% stock with a locked bootloader and doing a check for updates is giving me nothing.
ok done the ota to .019 now.
apparently lawnchair doesnt seem to work anymore on that version. with the initial oreo build it worked after some time.

i wait for purenexus oreo with that. substratum works w/o root on stock oreo as well so only real use of rooting for me is now adblock via hosts file. havent looked into those local vpn adblocks yet.
ur best shot would be to ask about a twrp backup or .img dump. in the end someone has alrdy done it. no twrp here right now and dunno how to dd dump .imgs too lazy to google. then apply ur pixel mod and root to that.
for the big parts of pixel mod i would recommend substratum + lawnchair. u get almost everything except home button animation and round icons everywhere not just in launcher. both not that important to me.
u can still get ota and its less hacky until something decent like pn comes out (or i get the pixel 2 xl )

Just want to confirm. Running build 017 and unable to pass Safetynet. Therefore unable to use Android Pay. Completely stock.
Confirm after flashing the image from Google, playstore becomes uncertified, with bootloader relocked.

I wouldn't worry about upgrading.
If it's the play store update that's nagging at you, just use sudohide. Xposed or EdXposed.

No one can. Keep using v14.x.
See this thread from April 2020:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/themes/youtube-vanced-issues-t4077347
14.x you can flash in TWRP easily. v15 needs complicated workaround. I'm not doing that.
If the Vanced team could make a TWRP flashable v15 version themselves, they would. They apparently can't anymore...
So no one else will probably succeed either. People have been asking for this for couple months now.
Use v14.x or go get NewPipe.

Hello
I have recently rooted my Pixel 2 XL with TWRP and Magisk and wanted to install Viper4Android. But when i try to install the drivers it stops and I get the message
"Installation failed at patching system"
I have the audio modification Library and also got it working on Android 10 before but 11 doesn't work right now.
My question is:
Has anybody already installed V4A on Android 11 successfully and knows a way to do it or will I have to wait for the official release and an updated V4A?
Unfortunately I have the same error with Pixel 2 XL and android 11 (also worked with 10).
I also tried "tricky" install procedures (like this: https://www.the***********.com/install-viper4android-android-10-guide/) but no success yet.
I think the issue is related to Magisk canary and only happens on Pixel 2 (and XL) devices with android 11.
viper4android & Android 11
I have the same issue as well..
Can't get anyone to answer, been to several site, asking the same question

A logcat of the install process would be my starting point. You also do not specify which version of Magisk you are using? If you wish to respond to me, use the above thread, but there will be people with a lot more targeted understanding of your issues on that thread.

Yes sir that's only reason i switched back to Android 10 and Dewitt said he dont have no Android 11 running device to test so we'll just wait until android 11 is stable os and they release it for more device
I reckon we'll just need to be patient until the Devs look at compatibility upgrade for Android 11 - that has now been officially released. Everything works for me on my freshly rooted P4XL running R11, apart from V4A. But V4A is my most loved root app (next to Adblock, of course)

The customize.sh is completely different, as well as the module.prop. They use completely different install methods.
This unofficial build seems to install the app as a system app, while the official module installs it as a user app. As a result, permissions are granted in a system-level config file, though none look suspicious.
I haven't compared APK files, so I don't know anything about the actual app code.
The only thing that I consider mildly suspicious is the fact that the app copies native audio library binaries into certain locations; these could potentially be malicious. I doubt that they are, though.
After installing this, my Pixel 3a has been randomly reporting 'missing codec' when attempting playback of FLAC files via MediaMonkey.
I also recently got the TRN BT20S bluetooth adapters for my IEMs, could be the intersection of the two, will keep testing.
Restart usually clears things up, but not the best solution.
