My friend, do you really need to input Chinese? This is amazing. I have installed Google Chinese Fonts which is very small but lack of the power to input but I think sufficient.
Here's another post that may be of help...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=603551&highlight=chinese
One of the cab file that I've tried is the Baidu's Chinese Input method and it's a great tool for Chinese entry. It's developed by Baidu, a popular Chinese portal site.

Removing/Uninstall Baidu’s Chinese Input
Sorry to dig this out but...
Does anyone know how to uninstall or remove Baidu’s Chinese Input without the need to hard-reset?
:d我过来支持纯中文支持
I DO LOVE the way the input works. However due to some issue I wish to remove it and KIV first. but I can't find it in the remove program list.
So just checking does anyone have any idea on how to remove it as well as remove the baidu button on the bottom of the screen...

is very easy just go to windows folder and after startup u will delete a file named search and restart is done!
for Baidu Chinese IME, you should go to link:
ishouji.baidu.com/input/download.html
directly to download the version that's suitable for your cellphone model.
It currently support Windows Mobile and Symbian.

Chinese character help
Hi, (HD2 Newbie) I downloaded and installed all four cabs and the phone soft reset. The problem was when it reset, I got the white tmoblie screen that just hung there forever, even after many soft resets (tmous phone hd2). Should I not have installed all four cabs? Should I have done a soft reset after each install? I don't want to do another hard reset. Help?

[Q] EngelDroid EN1007M

I'd bought this WE a little box from Engel Axil with Android 2.3.
This box is powered by an ARM CORTEX (armv7) processor with 512Mo of RAM and 2Go stockage.
More info HERE.
I'd installed openssh and I can see the return of 'uname -a':
Code:
Linux localhost 2.6.34 V1.3.0-70-gee2481e(20120217.100957) armv7l GNU/Linux
A spanish community seem to have succeed to make a ICS release for it HERE, but they don't say anything about the procedure to install this.
Is there somebody here which will be able to explain me how to upgrade my Engeldroid ?
With 'busybox installer' and ssh terminal, I am able to get root access.
Now I try to set the default home launcher to something else than original spanish launcher....
I'm interested in this too!
The EngelDroid 1007M looks just like what I need, but I don't like that its software is in spanish.

Hello Guys,
I'm living in Spain myself and bought me one of these nifty boxes as well and started to fizzle around with it.
Here are my findings with it so far:
Android:
The box comes standard with Android 2.4.3 (or was it 2.3.4, I'm at work right now and can't remember correctly ) but can be upgraded to a 4.0.3 version that is made by Mygica.es.
The link to download the upgrade is indeed the link you've posted.
To install this upgrade you will need to download the zipfile, rename it to update.img and copy it to a clean SD Card.
Make sure that the Engeldroid is powered off and put the SD Card in the Engeldroid.
Than take something pointy and press and hold the reset button on the back (the smal little hole) and plug in the power connection to boot the Engeldroid in update mode. You can release the reset button when you see the restore-android-logo appearing on the screen.
The droid will now look for the update.img on the SD Card and start updating your box. There will be a random offset message but that is nothing to worry about and does not give any problems with the installation.
The first time after installing this new Android version the unit will take up to 15 minutes to boot it due to installing all settings and default apps from this custom rom.
The normal remote control with the keyboard on the back won't work anymore, but the motion controller will. It is highly advisable to connect a wireless keyboard and/or mouse or combination. Myself, I'm using a Logitech K400 keyboard/touchpad combination which works flawless.
Another option for the Media Center tweakers would be to install Linux with XBMC on this.
It is nowhere comfirmed but that is how I am using my Engeldroid at the moment and it turned my droid box into a proper XBMC media center and Samba file server that shares all my movies from the connected disc on the network as well.
The install procedure is the almost the same as with the other ROMS, download, unpack the zipfile, make sure the file is called update.img, copy to the root of the SD Card, plug it in and reset the droid with the reset button hold.
The link for the specific build of XBMC Linux that is working with our droid I can't post here yet, but search on google for: Pivos XBMC-Linux Beta 100912 and you will find the Pivos forums with the release topic of this ROM.
Don't try the Android ROM from Pivos, it is not compatible with the Engeldroid EN1007M. No worries if you want to try it, it won't blow up our box but just won't install.
If you have any more specific questions, please ask or send me a message or email and I will get in touch with you.
Official update
There is an official update for this device to ICS 4 (site in spanish though)
engeldroid . com
Got to "Nueva ROM Android 4 ICS" --> "ROM Android 4 ICS" (I'd link it but I don't have 10 posts yet )

[Q] Where are the Offline Speech Recognition Language Files Stored?

OK... So it would seem that the more technology advances, the less control users have on their devices... GRRRRRR!
But before we engage in arguments on the politics of actively hiding the file system to computer users and restricting access to their devices... Does anyone know WHERE Google stores its Offline Speech Recognition Language Files?
I accidentally discovered that Offline Speech Recognition seems to have been bundled with Google Search somehow because if Google Search is disabled, so is Speech Recognition and looking at Google Search in Application Manager, one can notice that the data storage is proportional to the size of the downloaded language files, but so far have been unable to locate where on the device these files are stored, so that they don't need to be downloaded again.
Any ideas?

YESSS! Confirmed on my Samsung Galxy Note 2
THANK YOU SHERLOCK!!!
For those using OFFLINE voice to text to SAVE BANDWIDTH, having to DOWNLOAD THE FILES every time something Google crashes in order to save you from DOWNLOADING in real time was a bit absurd, don't you think?
This should resolve the issue, unless of course reinstalling the files manually is not possible. I'll make some tests and get back with results.

Firstly, just in case you were trying to do this on an older OS, it's supposed to work only starting with Jelly Bean (4.1.1), but I presume you wouldn't have an option to download if you were on an old OS...
Otherwise your Google Search installation may be corrupted and you need to delete the data and cache and reboot (note to others: if you need to reinitialize Google Search for any reason and already downloaded language files, COPY THEM ONTO YOUR SDCARD FIRST if you don't want to be downloading them again ).
If that doesn't work, update Google Search offline, there are apks available, I'll post one up tomorrow if you have trouble finding one.
If worse comes to worst, you may have to delete your google account and re-register it after a reboot. Usually that's as far as you need to go.
If you still need language packs after all this, let me know and I'll download them for you as I'll be WiFi all day tomorrow.
Good luck!

Unfortunatelly on Android 4.2 both GOOGLE SEARCH and VOICE SEARCH are embedded in Android rom. So I haven't ANY unistall option. I just have the option to uninstall updates (witch I did, hoping the update would have somehow fixed the issue, but again, NO luck)

So I've just backed up the Google Search on my device, 2.0.0.438695.apk, this one works for me, and another one I had on backup 2.3.11.575405.apk, don't remember if it's any better.
I hope it helps, it's probably better than downloading the updates.

As I understand it, reinitializing the phone won't erase the internal SDCard, it's like a separate partition.

IT WORKED
THANKS A LOT
.
I downloaded all the needed file (both .apk and language files)
but I started creating the /app_g3_models/ folder and then inlating the IT-it language pack you provided
Than I checked if the language file was listed as installed in the offline voice recognition menu, but yet it wasn't
BUT when I clicked on download....it started downloading it back, and then it appeared in the installed language for offline use
of course my second test was....can I download any other language now or for the time being I'll always need to have it manuallly copied on the mobile and THEN I'll be able to "download" it.........
quess what? I was able to download Englis (UK) and German
so definitilelly the issue seems to be solved
And I did not even had to use the .apk files
thanks again

Helped a lot......
Worked?
I have a rooted Huawei Y300 with stock ROM, JB 4.1.1. The option to download the offline recognition files isn't there, but I'm quite sure that back when I bought the phone early April, the option was still there. I couldn't find anything definitive, but it seems that Google has disabled the offline recognition for devices it deems "too slow/weak" to use that functionality. Or something.
In any case, the app_g3_models folder exists on my phone, but it's empty. If I set the language to English (US), the offline recognition works, if I set it to English (UK) or German or whatever, I get a speech server error if I'm offline (I use utter!). So I downloaded the Italian files linked earlier in this thread and copied them to the app_g3_models folder. Then I set the Voice Search language to Italian, tried utter! and it worked while offline. The only "problem" being that it understands the speech as English, not Italian... I don't actually speak Italian but I set utter! to display the results it gets back from the Google speech recognition service, and those results are in English. And if I ask it "What time is it?", it understands me correctly. I assume the problem is that the speech recognition sees the Italian offline files, but for whatever reason it can't use them and defaults to the working English (US) files (where are THOSE, anyway?). If I set the Voice Search language to anything but Italian or English (US), I get the speech server error again.
So here's my request - could someone please download the English (US), English (UK), German and Russian offline files on his phone and upload them somewhere for me to try?
Also if you know how I can get the download option to show on my phone, that would be even better .
A big +1 to that. I downloaded the Italian files myself and got my phone sounding like Mussolini. Lol..Still if somebody could upload the English US file it'd be great. I'm gonna keep looking for them. If I find them I'll post a link for y'all here.
Sorry guys, I'm stupid I suspect.
I've downloaded the files to app_g3_models.
When I select Voice Search, I see:
Language
Default - English (UK)
Speech output
Only when informative
Block offensive words
Hide recognised offensive voice results
Bluetooth headset
Records audio through Bluetooth headset if available.
there is nothing else. So what do I need to do next, to get offline voice recognition working?

I had this same issue with another app that uses Google offline recognition files. (Utter) Spent days trying to figure it out. What did the trick was installing svox voice engine, and a trial of a voice pack (it seemed that it wouldn't work without the voice package) once I set that up the offline stuff started working.
Hope it helps ya

[Q] Using flash player on android with Hebrew

I am trying to run flash website with my Android device(Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean 4.3). The website built for Internet Explorer only , but i succeed runming it on my FireFox browser on my PC. When i am trying to run this website on my phone , it run properly except of one thing : the Hebrew shows Gibberish.
I tried to put an image but i couldn't!
I know that Adobe stop publishing Android flash player, but it still can be download from Adobe's website.
I search on the Internet and tried a lot of things:
Flash Player isn't influenced of the browser encoding.
I tried to replace a lot of browsers of android, no one solve the problem.
After understanding the locale can be the problem i decided to make my IE on my PC show the same Gibresih. I change the religion on my windows 7 control panel and my IE showed the same problem.
My device is English but i use application like customlocale2 ( I tried alot of those application). i tried to run the website on my friend galaxy s3 (genuine Hebrew) and the same thing happend.
After searching on the internet i found this [link][2] which show how to change Firefox config on android device. I saw that the locate isn't for Hebrew. I tried to change all the configs that look like related to locale from my PC FireFox(couldn't find how to import config to Firefox android) but the same thing happended. (Maybe i miss some configs).
Firefox doesn't have Hebrew edition to android device yet.
When i tried it on My Google Chorme on my PC , the same thing happend. when i change the language of Google Chrome (including UI) and tried it works!
I tried to enter to other Flash site i know and the Hebrew was upside-down.
Hoping to find an answer
Thanks in advance,
Ron

[4.2.2][Fake GALAXY S5 mini][SM-G800][Translation] Useful notes on Translating

Hello
[INTRO](a little background)
This is a guide for those who want to have their phone in their language but the operating system does not have it built in. You can flash a new ROM that has it or install an app right? Not so much. There are reasons for these methods to fail or simply not work for your situation. My problem was that the bootlegged hardware was not supported by the official ROMs or the Android community. This forum is also riddled with threds that started by people who need to mod something about their phone but have no technical knowhow. There wouldn't be annything wrong with that exept that the awnsers in these threds are something along the lines "Oh you just need to do this thingnemabob" that's it one sentence pointing to a technical slang word that means nothing to anyone but a seasoned developer despite first post DIRECTLY STATES IT WAS MADE BY A PERSON ASKING FOR A STEP BY STEP SOLUTION OR A LINK TO A TUTORIAL!
[pre-procedure]
List of necessary software:
Zipsigner (this goes on your phone)
ADB
text editor of choice( notepad++ recommended)
AIO-Flasher
smali/backsmali (depeding on wether your system files are odexed more on that later)
APKstudio
[installing above software]
Zipsigner
Why you need it?
As you modify your apk files their signature changes. Basically if you change anything about them the phone will no longer recognise these as "its" therfor you need to convince your phone that these are in fact okay with zipsigner.
how to install?
This is an app. If you ever installed anything from Google playstore before than you know how to install it. Go to your Google play store app on your phone. Search for Zipsigner and pick the top app. Agree to all the demands and tap on install
ADB
why you need it?
this is a command line piece of software. these might be very scary to use but don't worry follow the tutorial and you'll be okay. That aside what is it used for. ADB is a powerful tool but we will use it only to copy and paste files to and from Phone
how to install it?
ADB comes packed up with Android Development Kit so the easiest way to install it is to get the ADK
[STEP 1]
Okay so you want to translate your phone for one reason or another. Make backup! Backups are important. You want to have something when you fail to fall back on. Yes "When" you fail. Not "if" you fail. You will screw up but as long as you have a proper backup everything is okay.
You can back up your phone in few different ways.
Hello
[INTRO] (skip if you are not interrested in fluff)
For the past week I lived in Android Hell looking for what I thought would be a simple procedure and I wanted to share my expieriences somewhere so that no one else has to go through this flustrating expierience.
I got two phones (Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S5 mini)and I was taked with translating them. Well It should not be a problem I thought because it should be as easy as going into [settings]>>[region and langages] and choosing Polish. There is no Polish. So that was my first step towards the translating thiese.
[STEP 1]
First thing first backup. I am by no means a talented programmer or modder so I went with Samsung Kies but software didn't recognise neither phone. After fiddling with drivers and a back-and-forth with samsung costumer support we came to conclusion that phones are fake. IMEI of one identifies it as a Blackberry and other as Nokia >_< well okay they still have some sort of Android so there should be a way to translate them anyway. First thing on the agenda is still backup. So I went through a triall and error to get both roms dumped. I was successful with ANDROID AIO FLASHER which was a godsend after I failed time and again to push romdump's INSTALL into the phone. I managed to get one ROM off by now but other Phone still insists on denying me ability to dump the rom because of Segmentation error. but at least I have one rom backed up.
[STEP 2]
Okay I got myself ROM now what? I decided to make a transfusion. Why bother with getting down and dirty when you can just use the work of others. So I downloaded a ROM with same version of the Android OS and begun looking for language pack or something similar. No luck this is not how Android works. After some research I came to the conclusion that in order to make things work I need to basically decompile each and every APK file that refers to system functionality and translate Strings.xml by hand in order to ensure compatibility.
[PRESENT DAY]
this is where I am now. all I wonder if there is a way to add a new file in the APKs with polish in it or should I just translate English "strings.xml" file and set langage to english?
Feel free to point out faults in my logic as well as provide tips and tricks for those of us who bought our phones on the cheap and just want to usethem with language they are comfortable with. I will build up this topic with factual information that I come across and try to make this into a universal guide to Android translation with resources to download. I do this because no one should be subjected to this and there is no decent step by step guide on this forum just disjointed and incompleate information in posths here and there. Belive me I looked both here and Google and after two weeks of finding nothing more than a hints I want to just give back to the community all I found.
