In earlier EMUI 9.0.0 we had the option to change the fingerprint unlock animation. This option was later removed and hasn't come back.
Inspired by the thread for the Huawei P30 Pro, I investigated whether it was possible to change the lockscreen fingerprint icon of our Huawei Mate 20 Pro - and I successfully managed to. Huge thanks to @zimmen for discovering this for the P30 Pro and providing the links and files. Make sure you thank his thread as well.
This guide has been tested and works for the Huawei Mate 20 Pro! You will not be able to use the animations provided in the P30 Pro link.
Use the theme provided at the bottom of this thread as the base of your modding. The theme is the Huawei Mate 30 Stock theme with modified fingerprint icon (OnePlus) and the 'Color Swirl' animation:

}
To apply the fingerprint animation provided
Download the theme and extract the file 'Painted Planet.hwt' to 'Huawei' - 'Themes'.
Return to your app drawer, open the 'Themes' app, navigate to 'Me' in the bottom right corner, 'Themes' and apply the 'Painted Planet' theme. Reboot for the fingerprint animation to take effect.
Now, in order to change the fingerprint icon:
Download the theme and extract the file 'Painted Planet.hwt' to 'Huawei' - 'Themes'.
Search Google for the app 'MT Manager'. This is a file explorer that allows you to decompile and recompile apks on the go.
Open 'MT Manager'
Navigate to 'Huawei' -> 'Themes' -> 'Painted Planet.hwt'
Open com.huawei.aod, then open 'res' and 'drawable-xxxhdpi'.
Find a picture that you like as the fingerprint icon with the approximate size 220x220 pixels. The file must be '.png'
Make four copies of the same picture and rename them to 'ic_fingerprint_1.png', 'ic_fingerprint_2.png', 'ic_fingerprint_3.png' and 'ic_fingerprint_4.png' respectively.
Using MT manager, move the four pictures into 'Huawei' -> 'Themes' -> 'Painted Planet.hwt' -> com.huawei.aod -> 'res' -> 'drawable-xxxhdpi'.
The manager will ask you if you'd like to replace the files, tap 'yes'.
Once you've moved the files back, swipe back untill you get a confirmation that you would like to save the changes to the com.huawei.aod file!. This is an important step!!!
Now navigate back to your app drawer, open the 'Themes' app, navigate to 'Me' in the bottom right corner, 'Themes' and apply the 'Painted Planet' theme. Reboot for the fingerprint animation to take effect.
In order to change the fingerprint animation:
Find an animation that you like. The size of each frame must be 600x600 pixels and the centre of the animation must be a cyan blue circle (approx 220x220 pixels) for the fingerprint reader to correctly read your fingerprint.
Note that the fingerprint animation only supports 12 frames, each frame mut be in '.jpg' format and named 'wave_600x600_black50_01', 'wave_600x600_black50_02'... etc. through 12.
Once you have your 12 pictures, use MT Manager to move them into 'Huawei' -> 'Themes' -> 'Painted Planet.hwt' -> com.huawei.aod -> 'res' -> 'drawable-xxxhdpi' and replace the already existing 12 files wave_600x600_black50_xx' with your correspondingly named pictures.
Once you've moved the files back, swipe back untill you get a confirmation that you would like to save the changes to the com.huawei.aod file!. This is an important step!!!
navigate to 'Me' in the bottom right corner, 'Themes' and apply the 'Painted Planet' theme. Reboot for the fingerprint animation to take effect.
FAQ
Will this change the lock screen unlock animation?
- No, unfortunately not. I'm working on discovering if there's any way of changing that.
Where can I find MT Manager?
- Google it or search Aptoide for it. Be careful with the source you choose for downloading MT Manager.
Can I change my fingerprint animation back to stock?
- Yes! Simply reapply any stock theme and everything will be reverted back to stock.
Will this work for any other device other than the Mate 20 Pro?
- You can try. There's no harm in trying but it most likely won't. For changing the fingerprint animation of a P30 Pro, please see this link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p30-pro/themes/guide-how-to-change-fingerprint-icon-t4042211

INSTALLATION
**Disclaimer**
I am not responsible for your phone, or anything that happens to it. Ever.
This apk has been pulled straight from my phone, and its working fine.
(stock rom, black skin installed, clear lock screen, custom skin, rooted)
Have a Nandroid backup
Have a Goldcard
Have recovery
Backup your original apk
Notice: this apk uses images from the Skin: Black , if you do not have it installed you will now have a black notification menu. For maximum colour-compatibility install the black skin first.
Also note that I have changed the pull down tab located at the bottom of the screen shots, I felt this was more appropriate for the theme.
Instructions
push the apk to system/framework
reboot, you should now have a transparent notification screen
Thank you man
Can blank (transparent) part of slide be refilled with black color
p.s. havok, will you do a white skin? So we'll have black and white
Does this work with Gingerbread?
Which file you changed
Thanks
I'll make this for gingerbread, i think its called status background (or similar) inside framework res .apk
Good work..havok make it work for gingerbread..
Transparent status bar
Hi havok
I tried for transparent status bar in res frame work.apk (puting transparent file ) but signing creates problem phone don't start
I have Android signer java application
may be HTC sign different
what i do ?
you can avoid having to sign the apk files again:
1. extract file you wish to edit
2. edit file
3. open apk (NOT extract) using zip manager (e.g 7zip)
4. drag edited file into the correct folder in .apk and replace
5. file should then be ready for adb push. no rezip or re sign needed
please edit for me
hi havok
I use 7 zip but don't work phone stuck at booting
I m uploading a file
replace it frame work.apk /res /drawable-120dpi/statusbar_background.png
please edit & upload working frame work.apk
Thanks
I think it looks nice, but i think that it will be confusing in the last end.
But nice one mate!
I want to make the notification bar transparent so my wallpaper goes to the top edge of the screen.
how do I do this? this appears to be the lockscreen?? maybe I am calling it by wrong name. running 2.2 on TP2 the white bat at the top that has the notification icons and the network battery time info.
I want to make "that" transparent. if the wallpaper does not "go" to the top then I want to "skin" it to match the wallpaper.
I can't use metamorph since that requires busybox and busybox does not work with my build.
use online kitchen, the instructions and the kitchen are here: http://uot.dakra.lt/kitchen/
Hmm First "CAN" I use this at all.
I am not running an android device "per say"
I am running a windows mobile 6.5 HTC Touch Pro 2 that has android running "ON IT" (from the SD card)
so would this even work for me?
second it says transparency of the notification bar requires Ginger 2.3 I am Froyo 2.2
if I can't make it transparent can I simply replace it with a non transparent bar (I will clip the appropriate pixels from my image and make that "chunk" the notification bar. IE simulate transparency. it will only work for one wallpaper but thats ok.
I don't see an option for this ?
Hello
Where can I find the system/framework in my Galaxy y? Does it need to be rooted? I really want to have a transparent status bar
And were should I put the attached data?

This will NOT change the color of your status bar. This will only add a transparent background to the drop down bar and place the Droid on the bottom right corner.
***Make sure USB Debugging is checked under Settings>Application>Development***
Here's how it's done:
1. Download & install Stericson's NinjaMorph from the Market
2. Place your desired Droid image on your SDcard and rename it to status_bar_background.png (doesn't matter where you put it)
3. Launch NinjaMorph and click tap on New Project
4. Go to /system/framework/twframework-res.apk (Files will get extracted and a backup is created automatically)
5. Go into /res/drawable-hdpi and find status_bar_background.png
6. Tap on the file and it will now ask you to find the image you want to replace it with
7. Find the file you placed on your SDcard and tap on it
8. You will get a warning asking if you're really sure you want to replace it (Tap Yes)
9. Tap on the blue arrow on the bottom right corner
10. Tap on Finish Project
11. Tap on twframework-resapk (NinjaMorph will now package/create the apk)
12. You will get a warning asking if you're sure you want to overwrite the apk (Tap Yes)
13. You will now get a warning asking if you want to zipalign (optional)
14. Tap ok on the next warning
15. Choose if you want to delete the project
Your phone should now reboot automatically and you should have your new Droid on your drop down notification bar that looks like this.

Looks great man, thanks for the mention. I'm about to flash now. Do you have a stock to revert?
eh I guess I can make a stock real quick...
I'm rocking the Green Android and it looks awesome. I've already shown it to a lot of the other Android Fans here at work, all are very impressed. Good job with everything man. Yeah, being able to revert is always nice rather than restoring a nandroid backup....
OP updated with revert..
im in the process of putting the finishing touches on a stock theme/template...
everything will be in it... that came stock anyway... and it will give those that want to start theming a little push in the right direction...
I will probably do a short demo of me morphing a bar from stock to crazy... start to finish
you sir are the man. If you do find time to do that, please make sure I know so I can add it to my sticky in the General section. That would help a ton, and lets be frank, the more people theming, the better for us all.
good job, this looks nice. I got the red and green
It did say the file doesn't exist so when I close it and go to existing to open the file there's nothing in it...trying to get the red one
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
looks great... thank you...
instructions for use:
open metamorph (MM)
click unzip extract new
(error occurs)
open MM
click pick existing
click Droid_xxx
click Droid_xxx
click Droid_xxx.xml
click close
click apply all
reboot after it finishes
When I click existing and then droid_red there are no files In it
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
check with a file explorer... if you can copy it into the root/directory of the theme it will be easier to find.. you're looking for Droid_Red.xml
if its not there redownload...
Just unzip the file then move the folder to the metamorph themes folder and select existing theme and click on the xm fileand apply all.
Yeah my comp double folders everything when it zips, or MM does it unzipping... IDK, it works if you apply manually by selecting the xml file..
Yeah I think this is breaking my market app. FC after downloading an app, reverting back to stock to double check. Will keep you posted.
^ no issues here, 3 updates and 2 new apps.
Try this.. Go to settings, applications, manage applications, market, uninstall updates and Clear data
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I reverted back to original with no prevail. I did a Nandroid and market is working again. I did have the ClearBar Metamorph isntalled as well as the Segemnted Green battery status icon isntalled. Not sure if a mixture of these things was the problem or if something just went wrong the first install.
I wills say a great mod for sure, looks great!
This may sound dumb, but would I be able to use morphs like these on my Captivate?
Requires Android: 2.2 and up

Feedback helps create other useful scripts
Ok …. So there is no easy way to Mod the Stock Android Browser or the Chrome Browser
to make it easy on the eyes. Trust me I have tried, and I am a fairly good themer.
Problem is, the websites determine their webpage colors. I wanted something easy on
the peepers with these colors. (Black background/White text). Hell, why not have a bunch of colors to choose from? Exactly -
So… I have created a Bookmarklet to do the trick for me. The script is encoded with my personal Easter Eggs. (to identify it )
If you are unfamiliar with JS Script, please do a google search for info, This is not a JAVA How to or Q&A thread.
Cross Browser compatibility – written with Javascript.
Pros – It will invert every single webpage you desire to invert
Pros – It will preserve the color images (99% of them.)
Pros – Click the Thanks and /or Donate Button!
Pros – Works on PC as well, using FireFox Browser
Cons – (Once the menu is up, and you tap anywhere else on the screen the menu will fade out)
For the pages you want inverted, you must bring the menu up. (not as bad as it sounds)
CHROME- *To bring the menu back, just type the bookmarks name "MJAMOCHA" in the URL, select it.
ANDROID- * Click your created bookmark … (not as bad as it sounds)
The Instructions are very simple, a caveman could do it!
** FOR CHROME BROWSER ONLY -Here are the instructions **
**There are 2 files in the. Zip. One for the color menu, and the second is an extra menu I thought might be useful. Follow the instructions for each file.
1. Download the CHROME-myfile.txt.zip * (which contain my java/css script info), Save the .zip, Extract the .zip - Inside you will see two "CHROME-myfile.txt" files. Long press on the .txt file, click Open in Text Editor, do a Select All - then copy the script info.
2. Paste my java/css script info into the Browser URL on your device (do not press go yet)
3. Click the star (on the right side of the browser toolbar) to make a bookmark.
When the “Bookmark this page” pop up window comes up
• Where it says “Label” type MJAMOCHA
• Where it says “Address” , paste the java/css script info you just copied
• Click “OK”
• Your bookmark has been created
4. Go to your favorite webpage, once there
• Just Type "MJAMOCHA" in the URL
• Click on it, The Menu Will Appear
• Watch the Magic Happen!
Note: It is better to open the file and copy the text from your device. Reason
is to maintian the structure of the script. (spacing ... blah blah blah) if there are
unnecessary spaces within the script after your paste- it will fail.
This is NOT A FLASHABLE ZIP, U must Save it to your device, Extract it, copy the script text.
*****UPDATED for Stock Android Browser ONLY
STOCK -
I have also created a menu style bookmark with the various color choices for your Android Browser.
Android Stock INSTRUCTIONS - (Download the "Android-Stock".zip)
1. Follow the above instructions 1-3
2. For step 4 of the instructions - Instead of Typing "MJAMOCHA" in the url, you must click your created bookmark to access the Color Menu or the Extra Menu.
