hey guys i have look around the forums for the best portable speakers for the transformer but i have not found the information i am looking for
since you all know the TF speakers aren't the best i am looking for small perhaps battery operated speakers for my TF, now i have looked at the speakers people have mentioned in other threads but i am not sure if the sound on those particular speakers are any better then the ones the TF because the speakers some one may use on a phone may be quieter then one may use on a tablet
so if you guys could recommend some speakers perhaps around 20 bucks that would be great but if its more then is ok to

you can daisychain multiple units or do what i do and use a stereo splitter and 2 speakers to get stereo output, but even using just one it beats the TF speakers (and most laptops) comfortably for volume and delivers superior audio quality including decent bass response.

I just received Monster ClarityHD Precision Micro Bluetooth Speaker from amazon. Overall, its a pretty good speakers for the price $70.00 I was amazing at how far the range was. My tablet was 30 feet away from the speakers and it was still able to pull in the sound without any issues. There are buttons on the speaker that will let you could adjust the volume and also switch tracks. There is also a 3.5mm audio input jack which you could use instead of using bluetooth. The sound is pretty good. Much better then the speakers on the TF. Overall, I am pretty happy with the purchase. At first when I was trying to pair the speakers with my tablet I kept on getting FC with Prime 1.6. I eventually had to do a data wipe in order to get it to sync.
I got these a week or so ago. They put out pretty good quality sound considering the price and are very portable and cheap.

I've received mine yesterday and I'm really really impressed about the volume and the sound quality for so little speakers..also very good the bass response..
I've bought only one to try it (13£ shipped from amazon uk) but I think I will buy at least another!

When I connect BT speakers and watch video with DICE player it will slow down to an absolute slo-mo with no sound. Nobody else have that problem using BT speakers?

An FYI for anyone who might be interested in a Jambox. Not saying it is better or less expensive than a Monster. Peace. Out.
I have a Logitech Mini Boombox, which costs about the same, but is much better looking.
Can't really compare the sound quality of course, as I don't have the Monster, but the Logitech is very good.

I have 2 monster ClarityHD bluetooth speakers. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a bluetooth speaker. I've owned a jambox too I returned it cause it was too quite. The monster is louder than the jambox after a firmware update to the jambox, you can disable the feature of the new update but you sacrafice quality for loudness.
Amazon has the ClarityHD for $49.99 right now. Very tempted to get one.

I use a cy-fi. The company went under a while ago due to retail price i would expect but it is tough, loud, clear, and works well with all of my bluetooth capable devices.

it's paired ok however when playing movies I get "no media content" under bluetooth settings and silence from the clarity hd??

I use the iHome iDM12 bluetooth portable. It just fits in my pocket while I'm at work. (I have loose pockets, wouldn't work in jeans). Its got exceptional sound for such a small package. Sure they pander to Apple but it works fine on Android and its only $69. I've never had the battery go dead on me yet so I don't know how long it lasts. I play about 5 hours steady and charge it nightly most of the time. Even the couple of times I forgot to charge it, it lasted through the next shift just fine.

I don't know where the audio lags comes from or what causes it. Some times I'll get audio lag too, then other times it will be just perfect. I wish I knew what causes it. If anything I would suggest it is the Prime tablet not being able to process efficiently or something. Hard to tell.

To users THST have this speaker and volume+ installed: you know you can go into volume+ and increase the volume boost and bass, on BT audio devices, to make this speaker alot louder. Has anyone tried this yet and how loud was it?

I have the Satechi pocket version ($30 2 watts with 3.5 mm audio jack). I like it a lot but am looking for more power and richer sound. This BT version looks like it could fill the bill. How many watts?
Also the Kinivo BTX110 Wireless Bluetooth Mini Portable Speaker likes like a knock-off of the Satechi BT. Has anybody trtied this one and how does it compare?
I understand that the Asus TFP has the Wolfson Class W headphone amplifier but some kernals do not yet support it. The Samsung Fascinate also has Wolson Class W and I have the Voodoo Sound Plus app on both my rooted Samsing and my rooted Asus TFP. My rooted Samsung has a kernel with the required driver supporting the extended sound controls but my Asus TFP does not. Voodoo Sound Plus makes a big difference in sound quality between my Fascinate and Asus TFP. It's all about the kernal having the required drivers.
I've always wanted to hear the monster speaker, but at this point I just decided to go for the gusto. Instead of spending 30 here or 60 here like I've been doing.

Yes it's expensive, but even if you look through the 4 i've had, they are cheaper now then ever.. I've probably spent over 200 on them. So that 300 dollar price tag that absolutely blows all the others out of the water doesn't look so bad.
And the best part is, you can go to a best buy or bose store and listen to it.. Hell, take your prime and pair it up and play your own music. You won't want anything else at that point. Aside from an ultra portable. I will still use the x3 for some traveling because it will fit in a smaller bag.

I completely agree with you on the Bose sound link. I picked one up over spring break at the beach and I love it. Yes it is expensive but you can't beat Bose at sound quality. The best part is i can pair my transformer and my phone and my laptop all very quickly.
The thing that surprised me the most about it was the base response. I am astonished as to the deep rich sound that it produces from such a small package.
Another point of interest is the folding cover / stand. It acts like the smart cover on the iPad. When you close it the speaker automatically turns off.
There is also a line in jack for any device you have that may not be Bluetooth capable as well.
I've found the battery life to be somewhere around 12 hours for standard use. This tapers off the louder you like your music of course.
Best of all I managed to get a refurbished one that was a wopping $75 cheaper.
What I use for a bluetooth speaker is a Sony HWS-BTA2W bluetooth receiver/transmitter, with standard powered speakers plugged into it. The Sony can be used as either a transmitter or a receiver, depending on what devices you have. I usually use it as a receiver, paired to my Prime, or phone, or even my laptop with a Jabra bluetooth transmitter connected to the headphone jack, and just plug standard powered speakers into it. I get good stereo, good sound, and the Sony isn't expensive. If you shop around, you can get one for ~$50, and you probably have some powered speakers on hand anyway.
There is always a delay with bluetooth. I had the bright idea to use bluetooth as a connection between my guitar and my amp, so I could connect wirelessly, and not have the cord to mess with. It's unusable, since there is a pronounced delay between the time you pluck the string and the sound coming out of the amp. The delay is almost a second, and it makes playing too much of a problem to deal with. I see the delay sometimes when I'm connected to the Sony with my phone or my Prime. They play a short sound when an email arrives, and it comes both through the internal speaker and through the bluetooth connection. The sound from the internal speaker is heard almost a second before the same sound comes from the speakers connected to the bluetooth connection.
Since there have been reports of issues with wi-fi in combination with bluetooth I'm wondering if you guys are experiencing problems using the bluethooth speaker while using wi-fi??

I recently decided to upgrade from an N7000 to the N9005. And what a change it is ^_^ I can finally keep up with the latest games and whatnot.
I however find the Note 3 speaker terrible. It distorts with the slightest sound it seems. I tried a few units and it seems to be a problem with most Note 3s.
Does anyone know of any portable speakers (preferably bluetooth) that aren't too expensive? I'm not really looking for high quality here. Mostly to use with podcasts and some gaming. I looked around for some soundbars, but they are very expensive apparently

Usually I carry a FiiO amp (I have three different models). I use them with my Note 3 and have various headphones ( Audio Technica ATH M50, V-Moda M100 and V-Moda XS, Beats Solo 2). On full amplification via the FiiO and depending on genre, I like the V-Moda XS and FiiO E18 the best. I would rate it a 9 for clarity and depth on portable device (I'm not huge into Ibiza levels of bass). So i walk into the T-Mobile store and hook up the V-Moda XS right to the phone and set the amplification to the highest setting. I would rate it a solid 8.5 (again for portable application). Although to a newbie not typically used to listening on good headphones they would probably rate it a 20.
Basically as is, the V10 makes carrying a headphone AMP a bit unnecessary now. By the way, I paid $160 for that FiiO E18 headphone amp a year ago but the going rate was over $200. The big selling point was that it was made for Android and you could switch to different tracks using the side mounted buttons on the FiiO instead of having to take the phone out, unlock the screen and move to a different track. For whatever reasons, all headphone cords don't work with all music apps on Android.
All that being said, is the V10 the best in class phone for not just camera functionality but audio playback?
I know the new HTC and Samsung Note 5 have a few advantages of their own. I'm curious to see if anyone thinks these are better on audio than the V10 based on experience.
I gave the Note 5 a quick listen, and V10 beats it IMHO. Had a fiio e18 too, good little amp.

The V10 will hands-down have the best audio performance of any phone to date. However, the question has been raised as to whether or not the ESS DAC/amp are active 24/7. It seems some apps use the standard Snapdragon DAC instead (typically streaming apps). Local content works fine as far as I can tell, and I may have found a workaround to force the ESS DAC on a session-by-session basis, but it might be something that can also be forced via software modifications produced by developers later on.
Well that's good to hear since I won't be going back to Samsung since they ditched SD card and removable battery.
One thing I thought of, the V-Moda XS is known for having a compact folding design that has "military" grade impact resistance and all around durable build quality. Which are similar selling points for the V10. Right out of the box, this is a great sound pairing. Some say the Beats Solo2 is on par with V-Moda XS on sound, but given the plastic build quality it's not really the same value for the money.
Yes, some apps aren't working. Tidal is gtg fortunately. Sounds pretty damn good too.

I was wondering about that too. Let me touch on my experience a bit.
A couple of things for reference: I briefly tested the DAC with my Sennheiser Momentum, and then with my HD 650 without any intermediary signal processing. Also, I believe that the 32 bit is an overkill, so signal-wise I don't consider this better than a 16-bit DAC for practical purposes. Still, I like having it just because it's there. My comparison is between the V10 and a Nexus 4, as well as a FiiO E07K + Little Dot Mark III at times.
So, the Momentum: of course the Momentum run well and loud, since they are easily run. DAC-wise, I do notice some added clarity and soundstage with Hi Fi on using FLACS and 320 kbps files (nothing major, but it's there, as expected). All good.
Now, for the HD 650: the V10 with Hi Fi on will do an automatic impedance/power match, which is really nice for volume control normalization. In the end, the V10 makes the FiiO e07k useless, because the HD 650 sound fine, loud, and equally clear on the phone. Now here is the thing: we know that Spotify is not affected by the Hi Fi toggle, yet the sound is equally loud and clear on the HD 650 than with Hi Fi on using local files. When I turn Hi Fi off, the amp can't power the headphones nearly as well (or at all), impedance match ends, and the volume and clarity go down.
In short, Spotify with Hi Fi off = Local files with Hi Fi on, even though it's supposedly not affected by it.
What that means to me is that they could be doing a Beats maneuver, and lowering audio quality on Hi Fi off on local files to really give people the feel that turning it on affects music. On the other hand, it could mean that Spotify (or other 3rd party, streaming apps) simply bypass the toggle and just run on the amp/dac's full power regardless. Proof of the latter would be that my Nexus 4 (and some other phones I've tested) simply cannot drive the HD 650 at the level that the V10 does on Spotify. I mean, I can barely reach a mediocre volume on the Nexus 4 maxed out.
Keep in mind that this is my initial impression, and I haven't done an in-depth sound test yet. That said, I'm very happy with the V10 regardless, since it can effortlessly power my HD 650 without having to carry an external amp/dac combo.

I don't think they lower quality for hi-fi off. It simply uses a completely different DAC. It defaults to the Qualcomm Snapdragon DAC... which is low quality.

Someone reported getting 3rd party apps like spotify to use the ESS dac with toggling tricks so it's definitely possible that it was using the ESS dac.

Of course it's possible, but I have yet to find a 100% sure response. Not that it's a big deal anyways, since the audio is fine regardless.
By the way, can you send a link to the report? I want to test it.

Thanks. That guy is saying something similar to what I said. Difference is, I didn't even have to overlap local file playing to trigger the amp/dac with Spotify. It just goes and it can't be turned off in any way, which is fine with me. But without any more information of course I was going to have initial doubts about it.

Now here is the thing: we know that Spotify is not affected by the Hi Fi toggle, yet the sound is equally loud and clear on the HD 650 than with Hi Fi on using local files. When I turn Hi Fi off, the amp can't power the headphones nearly as well (or at all), impedance match ends, and the volume and clarity go down.
In short, Spotify with Hi Fi off = Local files with Hi Fi on, even though it's supposedly not affected by it.
What that means to me is that they could be doing a Beats maneuver, and lowering audio quality on Hi Fi off on local files to really give people the feel that turning it on affects music. On the other hand, it could mean that Spotify (or other 3rd party, streaming apps) simply bypass the toggle and just run on the amp/dac's full power regardless. Proof of the latter would be that my Nexus 4 (and some other phones I've tested) simply cannot drive the HD 650 at the level that the V10 does on Spotify. I mean, I can barely reach a mediocre volume on the Nexus 4 maxed out.
Keep in mind that this is my initial impression, and I haven't done an in-depth sound test yet. That said, I'm very happy with the V10 regardless, since it can effortlessly power my HD 650 without having to carry an external amp/dac combo.

Do you think the v10 can match something like a Fiio X3? I normally have to carry my phone and the Fiio X3. It'd be great to be able to carry just one device and not have to sacrifice decent sound quality.

I have a Fiio e07K that I used to use on the go. The V10 does just as well, or maybe even better, than the Fiio. Assuming the X3 is comparable to the e07k (haven't tested it), I would just stick to the V10 and reduce bulk.
I think I'll sell the e07K now.

I think I'll sell my x3 as well.
Maybe it's possible that the V10 uses the ESS amplifier not matter what DAC is used. I've never noticed a difference between DACs for the most part... my PC sound card (Xonar Essence STX), Schiit Uber stack, and V10 all sound the same. Note5 honestly sounded about the same too. Maybe I just have insensitive ears or can't pick out the differences yet, but my AKG K812's are clearly the best sounding audio equipment I've ever heard, and I try to be critical in details of just about anything I hear sound through (apart from the source components). 320kbps .mp3's suit me just fine too.

mp3 normally sounds a bit more noisy and a lot of the details i look for are normally not present. then again, my hearing is pretty good. so I do notice the diffrence between mp3 at 320kbps and flac. At most times I don't listen to my music at high volumes either and then the missing stuff becomes more apparent.
I can tell the difference using Koss Portapro with 192kbps ogg.
The sound is more transparent than G4.

The last time I was in a Xiaomi service centre for my Mi A1, one of the technicians suggested me not to use Samsung earphones. He said the headphone jack on Samsung has a bit different shape even though 3.5mm headphone jack is universal. Samsung 3.5mm jacks are a bit narrow on the edge and thick at the bottom/end. Due to this structure, if it's pushed hard, the 3.5mm port may get damaged or loosen in a long run. After hearing this, I stopped using Samsung earphones (except Samsung devices) and now I am looking for a earphones which can produce perfect balanced music (not heavy bass or heavy treble). I was thinking of going for Xiaomi earphones, but the reviews are not good. Can someone please help me??

I bought some Xiaomi Mi Youth earphones. Only about€5 and really nice sound quality (especially with the phone set to the right EQ for the earphones in settings)
Depends a bit on your taste, and the situation you want to use them.
For my home, I use a Sony MDR-10RNC, they are amazing in terms of sound quality. And I also got them pretty cheap, like 50 dollars, they were originally like 200 so I got a pretty got deal, sadly since they are also a bit old, like 6 years, you might have trouble to find them on that price.
For exterior, I use Bluetooth headphones, the Jaybird X2 you can find them also around the same price, or X1 cheaper, they sound quite great for bluetooth headphones, they are sweat proof, but I have use them on rains and never had a problem with them. They also deliver very good sound with poco, and to me they are very practical for subway or streets.

You can go for sennheiser one they are bit costly but has perfect balance between bass & treble. crystal clear sound as per my liking.
BUT what ever you go, go with earbuds which provide buttons so that you can change the song using it as in MIUI there's no provision to skip song via volume button on phone.
Oneplus 1st gen is also good option. (it has mic & 3 buttons and good sound at cheaper rate, afaik sennheiser one with same would cost you around twice as much)

1. KZ ES4 (about 14$)
2. Rock Zircon (about 11$)
3. Tin audio T2 (about 35$)
All of them can be bought from aliexpress/gearbest and more than justify their price. Currently rocking an ES4 with my Poco and very happy with them. Hope it helps.

They are excellent except the problem lies with the Poweramp or Pocophone being unable to play HiFi Flac files at 24bit via Direct HD.
I am using Viper4Android as main equalizer but havent tweaked it yet for this earphone as i am waiting for Android Pie Stable update for the Poco.
Keep your impedance low (true for wired earphones/headphones)
Good day, if you wanted to have better earphones just make sure to keep track with their impedances.
Keep your impedances in this range (earphones, IEMs, and the likes): 20 ohms or below, you can do up to 25 ohms max but that's really a gamble, I've seen that @prateekj1993 has posted a 25 ohm KZ ES4 and it works so I guess I'll adjust my recommendations up to 25 ohms as before I only suggest up to 20 ohms.
For headphones, you need to do lower impedance than earphones due to bigger speaker driver. You should keep your impedance below 16 ohms for higher peak volume, anything greater would make you crank you volume to max everytime as what I always did on my 19 ohms (passive mode) MDR-NC8 headphones. Active headphones with their own dedicated volume is an exception OFC.
Here's what I have:
1. KZ ZS6 (15 ohms).
2. KZ ZS5 (16 ohms).
3. MDR-NC8 (17 ohms active, 19 ohms passive).
I advice anyone posting here about their recommended earphones or IEMs to post the model name and the corresponding impedances. Thank you for reading.

I believe it's not fully utilized because the Direct HD used the 24 bit upon an update but unfortunately i messed it up by going into the Audio Settings of the Output which reverts it back to the 16 bit.
Otherwise the sampling frequency options work fine.
I recently bought the OnePlus Wireless Bullets.
Im really happy with those earphones so far
The magnetic functions work so far really well. Auto disconnect and auto connect work. The only thing that does not work is autoplay function when they are connected, but I wouldn't like it anyway.
They have a Type-C connector and Dash Charge.

WTF dude, did you just say that impedance is not a parameter for audio quality? Impedance matching is the first thing you should do when you want to match your speaker/earphones/headphones to your amp. Anyways it is known that Poco F1 can drive in-ears up to 25 ohms so your isine 10 and 20 (both 24 ohms) is well within range.
FYI impedance dictates the volume and also how the audio quality behaves all-throughout the volume range. If you match your Poco to a 32 ohm headphones, you'll have a very low volume output even at 100%. Audio quality is nil when you can't hear a decent sound.
Do you know what people does when they blindly bought 32 ohm in ears for Poco? They complain that Poco's sounds too low. You're lucky that your isine is 24 ohms if you have that kind of mindset towards impedance.
I'd recommend you to buy a good DAC cable first since the audio output isn't good for me. You can get Venture Electronics Odyssey for budget or Sonata HD II for a bit higher price range.
For the IEM's, I'd say go for music/audio shops and audition each earphones you find there. Each one has different preference depending on music genres and artists. I currently use KZ ED16 which has balanced sound signature in case you want a reference.
