Need Help for flashing Carbon Rom on Dual Sim XZ1 - Sony Xperia XZ1 Questions & Answers

Update:
I managed to flash carbon rom and g-apps
However I got 2 issues so far:
1. the native google camera keeps crashing
2. One game download from play store not let me in
I used SafenetTest to have a check and it failed the test.
So I guess I need to install magisk to handle this?
However I just cant reboot into TWRP???
I tried pressing vol+ with power button, vol- with power button, both rebooting into Carbon rom...
Please help me...
-------------------------------------------------
Hi Everyone,
Really don't want to bother you guys for this simple dumb question but I have tried whatever I can do...
I am trying to flash Carbon rom for my Dual Sim XZ1 (I also got XZP, but first try this),
the sequence is a bit messy, I first installed twrp from play store, I installed those drivers, xperia companion, flashtool on my windows
and I tried to unlocked bootloader, after severl failure, it tends to work, and I don't know how my phone went into TWRP,
so far so good I guess, I then tried to flash carbon rom into my phone using TWRP,
I first click wipe and swipe to factory reset, then install carbon most recent release, then install open_gapps-arm64-9.0-stock-20200303.zip,
all good, i then click reboot
AND, it keeps rebooting... from "Your rom is unlocked"(something similar to this) to SONY logo...
and I tried to flash twrp again and flash rom again, still the same thing.......
So What am I doing wrong here?
Thanks for help in advance!

I guess I worked it out...
I guess I missed wipe other things, which caused a problem

[Q] Lenovo A830 Boot Loop No Recovery

I have a problem with one of my Lenovo A830 phones.
I bought it from Etotalk, so it came rooted, and with their custom version of the Lenovo Stock ROM and their custom version of CWM 5.5 installed.
I tried formatting my SD card and then doing a factory data reset from within the operating system. (I was intending to install MIUI V5 after rebooting into recovery).
However, on rebooting, the device is now caught in an infinite boot loop, and I am not able to boot into recovery mode (by holding down power and both volume keys). It loads the initial splash screen, then shows a few seconds of the Android character and some whirring cogs before rebooting.
I am able to boot into Factory mode (power and volume up) or Meta mode (power and volume down). Factory mode has a number of options, but they are all in Chinese characters, which I am unfortunately not able to read.
I did notice that my SD card seemed to be write protected when I tried to format it in my computer and to copy on the new ROM - I solved this by putting it in a different phone and reformatting it. I wonder whether the factory reset process has write protected something it shouldn't have?
Does anyone know how I might best proceed? I've been digging around on the forums, and tried a few things, but there's nothing which seems to provide a coherent solution for this problem.
I've got the latest Android SDK Tools, MTK Droid Tools 2.4.8, SP Flash Tool 3.1312, some additional ADB drivers (120827 v3.7) that I'm not sure how to install, the latest MIUI V5 ROM (3.8.16), and the latest stock Lenovo ROM (S118 from Need A ROM, just in case I need it).
Maybe different SP Flash Tools version?
I had trouble using SP Flash Tools v3.1312 with A830. Once I switched to v3.1304.0.119 I was able to flash both the original ROM and the custom MIUI one without serious issues. I'm unable to post the download link but google it.
One other thing is that when connecting the phone, it usually loads the something something Preloader driver, which is no good (even if it gives you Download OK). When attempting to flash either ROM, try pressing both the power and volume up buttons while connecting the phone (after pressing Download), only way it worked for me.
Good luck!
I managed to sort this out quite simply in the end!
On the Lenovo A830 (and presumably other Lenovo Android phones?), you enter recovery by pressing power and then pressing volume up / down together after a short pause. The short 1 - 2 second pause is important, because if you try and press them at the same time or in quick succession it doesn't seem to work.
I then installed MIUI V5 from the SD card followed by Google Apps after a reboot. In order to get MIUI to install, I had to remove the assert check at the top of the update script, because this seems to erroneously check for the A820 (even though there isn't currently a port for this device?). It's working excellently with two exceptions - I am unable to select the SD card as a storage device, and Google Play store is not searchable (it causes a Force Close).

Hi I had similar "reboot loop" problem this morning after a phone factory reset.
I have no idea how I solved that but the following was the steps I tried:
1. Install the MTK6589_PdaNET_ADB_VCOM_Drivers. Skip the USB connection during setup. Start the PdaNET after setup finished.
2. Insert battery inside the phone and connect the phone with the computer by USB
In my case, the phone reboot loop once, and the lenovo screen appeared in the second restart. The phone hanged. I unplugged the cable, took out the battery, insert the battery again and start the phone normally again and it is working now.
I recommend installing the recovery rom after you have fixed the phone.
Goodluck

[Q] Xperia P flashtool problem

Hi, I'm not experienced with custom roms, so I bricked my phone trying to install cyanogenmod, please help me
I tried to install custom rom on my xperia p so I unlocked bootloader, rooted and got recovery. Everything seemed to be fine until i tried to flash cyanogenmod, I can't provide link because I'm new user. Using Flashtool I accidentally (not knowing exactly what I'm doing) chose "select system to Flash" and klicked on boot.img from this pack. After several minutes without respond it showed only "Please check the log before rebooting into system" so I disconnected phone. When I try to start, it only shows sony logo for a short while and then it resets, and shows it again and resets... I can only reset it by holding vol+ and power button until it vibrates 3 times, then I can put it in fastboot mode.
Please tell me, what should I do now. And sorry for my bad english.
Flash stock, flash the boot.img in fastboot mode, reboot and flash the zip.
If you did not copy the zip yet boot after flash and copy.
Thank You very much. Everything works fine now, excepting data access via mobile network. I'll try to find the answer in another thread. Thanks again!

Fresh install of Cm13 3/26 - Seems to be stuck and can't get into recovery

Hey all,
So I decided to give Cm13 a try after I'd been hearing some good things.
I grabbed the latest nightly from today 3/26.
I was formerly on cm12.1 lollipop.
Did the standard backups
Wiped System, Data, Caches
Flashed the 35b bootstack
Flash the cm13 Rom + Gapps from opengapps (stock) for ARM.
System boots up and goes to the intro initial setup screen.
Immediately upon boot, it starts throwing errors saying Google Play Services, and Google play store has stopped, multiple times - it keeps flashing until I get to the "Checking for updates screen" , I hit okay a few more times, then it just sits there and wont move forward with the initial setup wizard.
The strange thing is that I seem to be unable to reach recovery. I try the hardware button method (PWR+VOL Dwn) Release at LG Logo and press again. Tried it a couple dozen times, and it WILL NOT go into recovery (I have TWRP 2.0.8.7 installed).
I haven't encountered anything like this before. I know my hardware buttons are fine, I've used the same method to enter recovery in the past. How else can I get into recovery with the phone in this state?
Thanks guys.
I know everyone says to hold, let go, and press again, but try just holding volume down and power button until you boot into recovery, **without** letting go. That's how I get into recovery, pressing and letting go has never worked for me.
Yeah, I tried that too. Ended up just KDZing back to stock and went from there to restore my backup.
Looks like I need to get a 6p or something if I want marshmallow My g3 hates me.

Bricked Honor 7 After flash superSU phone doesn't start

Hi all,
I unblocked my honor 7 PLK-L01 okay,
but when i tried to flash the superSU, to get rooted, after reboot, it never wants to reboot.
I tried:
1- I tried like the manual saying, (press volumeUp+volumeDown+power), then after the first image, i release the power and keep up+down presses,
But instead of going to recovery, the phone keep restarting.
2- i tried to press volumeUp+power, then keep pressing on volumeUp, but also the phone keep restarting,
How ever I can go to bootloader mode, if i press voluemDown.
but when i flashed another twrp, nothing change.
Can someone help please, the phone even stuck on the starting, and can't be recognized as mtp on compter,
or can't goto recovery_mode
Thank you in advance
i think you are kinda messed it up..
you should not flash any thing except stock firmware using emui recovery..
only solution: try and flash twrp again and again to check if it installed correctly.. or send a pic of what it says in the command window when you try to flash twrp..
or you can even try to put an update.app under a dload folder of your sd card and try to flash(do it if you have emui recovery..remember try any other firmware.. not the one you alredy tried)
you should always read forums and look into various things you are not sure about before you even download superSU.zip.... you should try install twrp do full wipe and install rom THEN reboot and you should be fine. make sure that rom is made for your device...

hard bricked my xperia z ultra! please help me

I was trying to install ressurection remix rom after flashing dual recovery.. Before trying to flash it i tried opening the recovery using volume buttons, it did not open up.. So i installed an app which would take me to recovery and it did..
After following the flashing procedure instead of cleaning the cache i selected wipe option from the menu which wiped my system also..
Now trying to reboot it it dosent reboot into the recovery or into the ressurection remix rom..
When i hold power button and volume down, it shows the sony logo and switches off.. When i use power button+volume up, it vibrates 3 times and continues to vibrate until i release it..
Please help me to fix it! :crying: i have been flashing many phones and it worked successfully.. Please help me fix this as this is not my phone:crying::crying:

Same goes to me. I havent touch custom rom since Galaxy S2. I try install ressurection remix Nougat on my Z Ultra because of current stock rom have problem with latest facebook app. I install kingroot and TWRP with no problem. After that I wipe Dalvik,Data,Cache before installing ressurection remix. After installed the rom, I press reboot and... black screen. nothing happen. I use flashtool and manage to flash back to stock rom.
Am i missing a step before or after installing the custom rom?
Its just softbricked you can download the firmware and androxyeds Sony flash tool
Load the firmware in flash tool
Turn off your device and Connect your device to PC pressing volume down button a green light should flash in LED notifications
Then flash the ROM
PS:- If you are trying to install MM OR N ROM DO NOT USE XZ DUAL RECOVERY,You need to have the latest twrp 3.xx to flash MM and N ROMS
