Enable all Apps for parallel usage - OnePlus 7T Pro (Regular & McLaren) Q & A

Hi,
is there a possibility to enable all apps for parallel usage?
In my case, I want to use Signal with 2 phone numbers and island is already in use for whatsapp-contact isolation.

Not really. Don't understand why tbh
Sent from my OnePlus7TPro using XDA Labs

im pretty sure there is an xposed module that allows for this.

Thanks, how is the app validated if it is capable for this function?

There must be a reason why telegram for example is in the list I can use and signal not.
So somewhat must check some criteria to decide if an app is valid for this option.

I pretty sure it doesn't. It's probably just a list of popular messaging / social apps that they created a very long time ago and haven't cares about it since then.

The parallel apps just use another user profile and open it with a 2nd user account without the need of switching profiles.
They seem to be coded into the app and don't follow any special rules. Not sure if they can be edited though.

Sorry for resurrecting the thread. The edxposed module you need is OnePlus PA Extender

I developed an app to do this, you can try if you can read Chinese https://www.coolapk.com/apk/219386

aFirewall weird new permission

Latest aFirewall (call blocking software) update has 2 new permissions, one of them I can understand since its related to app purpose:
INTERCEPT OUTGOING CALLS
Allows the app to process outgoing calls and change the number to be dialed. Malicious apps may monitor, redirect, or prevent outgoing calls.
But there's a second permission that I dont see its purpose:
RETRIEVE RUNNING APPS
Allows the app to retrieve information about currently and recently running tasks. Malicious apps may discover private information about other apps.
What's in this version:
3.6.0:
1. Update application icon;
2. Add running info display and shortcut;
3. Fix two FCs;

Anyone knows if this permission is really necessary?
Thank you

I can see that, but what does this do? Why does a call blocking app needs this?
To identify malicious apps running in the background, I assume?
It used to identify if BackupToEmail is installed in your phone. Thanks.

Shouldn't need any special permission to determine if a specific package is installed.

first of all, it's easier for you to use market enabler to unlock restricted content. thus, you can download anything from the play store.
but here, I did that for you, fresk apk.

I'd recommend checking into one of those market locale changers too, but I think you might need to be rooted.

Thank you indeed. I believe we need to be rooted for Market Enabler to work properly?
Secondly, how can we get the fresh apk of an app from the market like you did? It will be helpful.
BTW thanks again.

You are very obnoxious with your post. Search engines are there for a reason and should be used instead of making a thread for someone to do his dirty work!
No offence to OP.

For some reason I understand his situation. even thou if he searched before, it's pretty complicated. Is he rooted? Is he able to use the apk downloader for chrome?
For some reason, there are some causes why someone invented the forum. At last this thread will be shown on the search engine for future reference.
So why wasting your time posting if you can help?
Keep the thread clean. No offense to anyone.

Couple of questions..

Hello,
Is there a way to disable, rather than remove, the built-in Samsung phonebook and calender?
Problem is, I installed the app called Contacts+ and Google Calender, and it's really annoying when you get notifications from the built-in apps plus the other two. I tried unsyncing my calender off Samsung's but it also go unsynced off Google Calender.. So yea, is it do-able in any way that doesn't require rooting?
Also, is there an app that can list processes and services in a tree view? or simply track processes/services to their original apps? I've noticed some processes and services on Task Killer that I wasn't familiar with.
Thanks
Questions? We have a questions section just for that! Isn't that convenient?
Oh, and it's "calendar" .
If I am not mistaken, you can disable it from the app manager.

I'd suggest Titanium Backup. You just want to freeze up those apps and unfreeze them when it's needed.

Couldn't you have asked in the correct place? This forum is so busy that people are constantly posting things in the wrong place. So while his answer may have sounded blunt, it's probably because we constantly read the same thing time and time again and it gets a bit tedious writing polite replies.

Re the tasks part - just ask the developer of that app.
Re the notifications- Can't you just go to the settings of the apps and turn off notifications?

Rule #1 is Search. You can find almost anything via Google with the tag of XDA at the end.

Password-protecting an app

Is there any way to do this natively in Android, or is an app installation required to do this?

You can do it on some devices like Oneplus, but it depends of the OEM. Most of the time people download app lockers app to do this. This one for example ( https://www.xda-developers.com/secure-your-apps-with-applock-pro/ ) was featured on a sponsored post. I guess xda knows who to chose to sponsor them so I think you can trust this app.
Good Luck

Question Is this app risky?

I can barely stomach giving access to all my personal info to Meta. But at least it's encrypted, audited and somewhat bound by law.
Giving the same access to some random dev would be something I personally wouldn't do. His intentions may be good, but the reverse could be true as well.
Would you be comfortable using a "modded" banking app (say TM HDFC or TM ICICI)? Treat this app the same way and go with whatever your answer to that question is.
My Frank opinion: Avoid using the app.
You are absolutely right and it was stupid of me asking about it here. There was some chat about the app online that piqued my interest hence the question. A YouTuber even talked about such a modded app online....Anyways... thanks for the opinion

The app may not necessarily have viruses in them but their code may be so borked that the app in itself will be malicious.
