i have a pair of the sharper image 10x wireless headphones, class 1 bluetooth headphones. well long story short, they worked perfectly fine for music with my old g1, which was stolen. now, i am unable to pair my headphones with my new g1, and i've tried everything and now, i'm running out of ideas. since the sharper image went bankrupt, i cant return them to the store or call a customer support. i paired it over 100 times but it wont connect, the only thing that happens is, when i try to connect the headphones, it turns off once it tries to connect media audio. phone audio connects fine, but it still doesn't really work. at first i thought it was the rom, but then i wiped and flash 3 different roms just to have none of them work. i am using cyanogen 4.1.11.1 with .229i radio and dangerspl.
here is my log file

Hi everybody,
I upgraded my Samsung Galaxy last week to an S2 and I ve been using custom roms on the Galaxy all the time - so no newbie...
My S2 is from t-mobile UK it was sim locked: Kernel-Version
2.6.35.7-I9100BOKK1-CL511356
[email protected] #2
I installed CF-Root-SGS2_XW_XEN_KK2-v5.0-CWM5 and unlocked the sim.
Everything works except that I can't connect to my WiFi via DHCP anymore. The phone is always stuck at "Optaining IP Address".
If I use a static ip address it works like a charm. Also any other Wifi devices e.g. my Galaxy, my laptop, can connect and get an ip address. And no, I am not using MAC based security.
I ve tried two other kernels (CF-Root-SGS2_XW_OXA_KK5-v5.0-CWM5 and CF-Root-SGS2_XW_XEU_KE7-v4.0-CWM4) with the same result.
I need your help guys!
Best,
Torsten
You should search a zip file name WI FI Fix. Very useful app. Search in original android development

Well, I downloaded the zip, installed it via CWM and the result is the same:
No IP-address via DHCP but everything is fine with static IP.
Any other idea?

Same times you need to wait longer to connect, more than 10 min. Also flash this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363738, then flash kernel you want
Do you have adb available or Terminal Emulator installed on your phone ?

I have waited more than 30min...
Also I do not use a router - I have an industrial standard access point and I am running a dedicated dhcp server and I can see any dhcp request in the server log file. It seems the f...ing phone does not send ANY dhcp requests.
I applied the zip than installed the DarKnight kernel -> same result.

I have a terminal emu. Not installed actual version of adb but can upgrade if that makes it easier.
What to check?
Terminal emulator is just fine. Try this as root:
Code:
# rm /data/misc/dhcp/*
and reboot.

Well, I checked the directory IS already empty.
Well, I was thinking the cause is an old lease which isn't cleaned up phone-side; removing everything in that folder should have forced a new DHCP negotiation.
Other than looking in logs to see any DHCP complaints or setting a fixed IP assignment (MAC-based), I'm out of ideas. A (weird) fix also mentions trying to run Allshare first, which should re-enable getting IPs through DHCP.
Well, two questions:
1. Where are the logs - I am coming from Linux but on android there is no /var directory.
2. What do you mean with "Allshare"?
Give 'Shark for Root' a try. It will create a PCAP dump file from the WIFI traffic on your phone.
After starting the capture try obtaining an IP address by DHCP from your server. Now tell 'Shark for Root' to stop capturing traffic and copy the PCAP file to your PC. Use 'Wireshark' to analyze the PCAP file on your PC.
Good luck

1. "adb logcat" on your computer, with USB debugging enabled
2. Allshare is a Samsung application which comes with Samsung's ROMs. Some users report running it once restores DHCP functionality.
I have done the log using QtADB:
Its a complete session from associating with the AP to disconnecting.
I believe the red line is the problem but I do not know enough about android.
Do you understand whats going on?

Actually, no. It looks like worrying, but dhcpcd (DHCP client daemon) starts after that:

It sends a lease request:
Code:
18:21:56.808 Debug libnetutils 3284 Wait for the dhcpcd to return a result
Doesn't get a response and times out, leaving you without an IP address:
Code:
18:22:26.729 Error dhcpcd 8387 timed out
18:22:26.840 Info dhcpcd 8387 broadcasting for a lease
18:22:26.948 Debug libnetutils 3284 set the property[dhcp.eth0.result] by dhcpcd
18:22:26.948 Error libnetutils 3284 DHCP result was failed
18:22:26.948 Error WifiStateTracker 3284 DHCP request failed: DHCP result was failed
So, either your router doesn't give an IP lease for various reasons (MAC filtering or something else), either the DHCP client doesn't pick up the response. Indeed, now you have to do a packet capture and see if the response arrives or not from the router. If the DHCP ACK is not present in the capture, then it's your router; if it's present, then it's your phone.
There are some wpa_supplicant errors too, might be worth to read a little here also.
I give up on this - I will reflash stock.

Did you try to dump the Wifi traffic as I suggested in post 12?
When turning on Wifi tethering I get a "Error" and it won't turn on. After that error it is not even possible to turn Wifi on.

Hello,
My i9100 died some months ago, it was impossible to boot (Tested different batteries, SIM-cards and chargers). I think it was overheating when I used it for the last time.
I bought a used mainboard from China and build it into my phone. It had Stock Gingerbread installed and was used in Iran.
An IMEI-analysis says that the board is a european version

I use cm12.1 (12.1-20150430-UNOFFICIAL-i9100) but I also don't have cellular network with other ROMs. GPS, Wifi, BT etc. are working
Search for mobile networks is not successful and I can't execute USSD-Codes. The efs-partition is not corrupted. Most files are from 2010, last changes 2013.
Do you have any idea how to solve this?
Best regards
Have you checked which baseband software version is showing under "about phone"? This is stored in /dev/block/mmcblk0p8, and would not be updated by installing CM. I think I9100XXMS4 was the last European one. Rather than messing around with installing this, you can simply install Sale's NeatROM (modified Samsung 4.1), before installing CM etc.

Another thing to consider, but I not sure how you'd check or fix:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/external-antenna-socket-warning-t1273292
This would mean the radio modem is booted & working OK, but no antenna = no signal = no networks.
My baseband was XXKI4. I installed XXMS4 but that didn't change anything.
The antenna socket is not damaged or anything but i don't know how to check the functionality without destroying the coonnection to the internal antenna (provided it works at all).
Hmmm @tgb456
Install stock 2.3.3 and root it.
Connect your phone to PC into ADB. Start logcating and make log:

Hi everybody,
I have a unlocked Moto Z, originally running stock android 7.0 but rooted. Everything worked like a charm until I upgraded to 7.1.1 After the update, bluetooth is completely disfunktional (wifi works!) - no other devices are detected by the phone and the phone itself is not detected by other phones. Bluetooth address in f4:f5:24:dc:ce:2a (hmm, wifi-mac is the same but ending with 2b - looks weird).
I did evereythink to reset settings, reflashed stock 7.0, flashed los, ... I even called Motorola support and they told me, that this is a known issue in the context of the 7.1.1 update and that they don't have solution for that. I was asked to send the phone in to Motorola Service (in Germany this is Ingram Micro Services GmbH) - because of my unlocked bootloader they send it back - unrepaired.
Does anyone have the same problem? Maybe found a solution to fix this bluetooth issue? Any other ideas are really appreciated!
Greetings
Some bug bluetooth 4 Moto Z, please dont update to 7.1.1 for no Bugs.
Please test fix.... https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-z/help/wifi-bluetooth-update-mac-adress-t3634536

@core720: Thread is about wifi issue, not bluetooth. Nevertheless, I flashed the referenced stock modem seperately, but it did not make any difference.
@lollyjay: Thread describes a wifi/modem problem & solution. It seems to handle the same wifi problem than above. Solution looks similar (flashing different modem).
As I understand, bluetooth firmware is BTFM.bin , not part of modem firmware NON-HLOS.bin.

Tru dat. I was just wondering if you could flash that ROM to see if your BT problem is fixed.
I assume you have fastboot flashed the BTFM.bin again?

if you think it's firmware or software issue
find whatever you need here : https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=200666
There's a new build out for the moto z force: NCL26.118-23-1, I have a feeling they fixed some of the issues. Problem is I can't flash it unless I have a full firmware image...

Tru dat. I was just wondering if you could flash that ROM to see if your BT problem is fixed.
I assume you have fastboot flashed the BTFM.bin again?

Yes, I flashed BTFM.bin - no change; and I flashed GRIFFIN_7.1.zip from erfanoabdi - no change.
I used SysLog app to gather some information about bluetooth status. But I cannot discover any hints for an error, everything looks okay for me:

Had the same problem and they told me in the support-chat it was an hardware-related issue (the guy sad bluetooth-problems related to the 7.1.1 update deactivated bluetooth permanently. So if you can switch bluetooth on, it should be hardware, not software)
I did not test, if it worked on 7.0 (got my phone two weeks ago and updated instantly) but i sent it back get an new one. Will update this thread once I test the new device.
Edit: decided to get my money back, so no more updates from me. I will buy a OP3. Good luck woth yours!
Having the same bluetooth issue here on my device as well, through the official OTA's (device is stock and still locked bootloader). Going crazy trying to figure out what is causing it..as it seemed to work prior to the October or November Security update, if i recall correctly. Motorola customer service seems to be blaming Google Play's Protect scanning feature...and dont offer any more assistance than book it in for repairs if that doesnt fix it.

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it, beacause it is a hardware issue. If your bootloader is still locked, send the device in to Motorola support. They will "repair it" , i.e. you will receive a replacement device.
My bootloader was opened, so Motorola send it back unaltered. I was able to lock it but the device still shows "System: Modified". I read, that this might change with an OTA to a new major Android version, e.g. Oreo - so I am waiting... if it works, I will send the device in again to Motorola support.
Have you guys tried reflashing the radio using fastboot in bootloader mode?:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
I remember when I had my Moto X Style, this would happen regularly when flashing some ROMs and was normally fixed by reflashing the radio that is correct for your phone. This would normally be found in the full stock image. In some cases, it had to be done twice. Some ROM images also have a separate file for Bluetooth and it might be worth flashing that too if it exists. I think it is normally labelled something like BTFM. I don't have any issues on my Moto Z though and it is completely stock. I used to tweak a lot on my Moto X Style which I gave to one of my parents and recently had to fix a similar issue by reflashing the modem. Make sure the modem you flash is the correct one or it can cause issues.
Hope this helps.

My stock (and locked) Moto Z has the same issue: Bluetooth died after installing an update (I don't remember which one exactly).
Motorola Customer Support told me to ship the device to a repair center, as the problem is hardware related.
I shipped it last week, in about one month (when I get it back) I'll see if they have actually replaced the motherboard or not. If they haven't, maybe there's a chance that Bluetooth can be restored by flashing something.
Has nobody found a fix? I really like my Moto Z but I need Bluetooth
Hi everybody,
I have the same problem on my moto Z. Furthermore I have a pop-up every 2sec who says something like "Not able to connect to bluetooth" even if I do not turn on the Bluetooth.
I use BT every day and I prefer not to loose weeks with a repair center.
Do someone have a fix to that pb ?
thanks
I got my Moto Z back from the repair center after six months. They actually replaced the phone's motherboard.
