Hi everyone,
for the past few weeks I've been having this problem with my p20 lite (ANE L21): basically sound randomly stops coming out of the speaker, but what's strange is that if I press somewhere in the middle of phone's back side (let's say at about the center of the back cover) the speaker starts working again, and then randomly stops working until I press on the back again.
The back cover is actually cracked, it's been broken for several months but never had an issue, I don't know if it's related. The phone is out of warranty. Any idea what it could be? Maybe some faulty contacts?
maybe just speaker or flex broken? uncover and try gentle move flex from sound board to main board, if sound apear, mean flex broken or maybe just push it in socked

I've recently purchased this great device from ebay and found out that the screen is a bit loose on the top. it's only something about 0.5mm and doesn't bother me at all. but the problem is that the volume control external button doesn't sit perfectly on the internal buttons so sometimes you press and they don't work.
I've notified ebay seller and he told me that's a known problem and that he could fix it for me. I just wonder if it's a small fix maybe I can do it on my own and save everyone the hassle of sending it back and fourth.
picture attached.
Mine does the same thing but it affects my proximity sensor. I have to push on the right upper corner when I want to hang up during a call, otherwise, phone thinks my ear is still up against the phone.

haven't tried that yet, so I can't tell if it's a problem.
I've had the same issue, both with the proximity sensor and the volume rocker. For me the top of the rocker is very loose and has to be pressed hard to get it to recognize. The proximity sensor, I found out, has a little cutout adhesive that is supposed to go between the sensor and the digitizer/lcd assembly.
Sometimes this gets shifted (for instance, when someone breaks their screen and decides it's a smart idea to replace it on their own like I did...) and you have to take care to place it back where you found it or you end up having to press the right corner of the screen to end your phone calls.
If anyone figures out how to repair the issue with the volume rocker, hit me up. I'm already knee deep in this thing, I might as well learn something new while I'm at it.
Hi,
After I switched to CM7 I started to experience unresponsive or crazy screen. By crazy I mean it's like touch screen calibration is somewhat screwed and it gets touches everywhere. When I turn off screen and on, it is gone. However it starts again after a while. I noticed that when I get my phone out of my pocket, it gets unresponsive. After I clean the surface and do on/off several times it fixes. Sometimes, it doesn't even get fixed so I have to restart the phone.
I also see that after a fresh ROM installation, issue does not appear frequently. After a while, it occurs quite often and my battery is drained as well. I doubt if that is an kernel issue or hardware. But since it drains the battery, it seems like a kernel issue. Have anyone faced a problem like this before?
Try the raindrop fix. If that doesn't work, you may need to replace your digitizer (or alternatively go back to stock ROM if the problem does not show up there).

Thanks ravilov, I didn't know about that. I downloaded and installed it. Problem doesn't seem to fade away but it usually gets frequent after few weeks. I will see what happens. As you said I'll try stock rom next and if that doesn't work either maybe it's time to change my phone.
Sorry to write to an old thread, but my problem is related.
So, after this craziness I wrote in my first post, my screen get totally unresponsive. I cannot use the phone. I decided to change the digitizer. However, the problem still exists even with brand new digitizer. I'm now wondering could it be due to front camera ribbon? I think that's where digitizer is attached to. Any ideas or suggestions on this?
Thanks!
Either that or the mainboard

I've just noticed another flex cable called earpiece ribbon. I'm confused, which one does the digitizer is connected to?
Earpiece ribbon
Speaker Flex Cable

Hello! So my Xperia Mini pro has been broken, it doesn't show any image anymore, I think there is a problem with the screen but I want a confirmation or recommendation to find out what the problem is.
First the screen "touch" capability stopped working, and then two weeks after that, the back and option buttons stopped working too. And a week after that ,there was like a screen "flickering" (I tried to recreate the problem in the attached image) when I tried to either open or close the slider.
Finally the screen stopped working anymore. I tried to connect the phone to the PC but says that windows cannot recognize the hardware. And there's one more thing: I can turn on the phone, it vibrates, but the keyboard lights seems that are not working, they are permanently off.. and when I try to Increase the volume it doesn't sound either... There is only the black screen and a backlight.
Please Help me to find out what is the problem, I'm thinking to buy a screen replacement on eBay, but some people told me that is the "flex" cable. I'm not sure if there is a fix for my phone's problem.
Thanks!
Hey there.
Based on my experience, yes, your problem is most likey a flex ribbon issue. Your flex has been ripping apart lately, causing many of its wires to break. This can cause a lot of unpredictable problems, such as a misbeheaving notification LED, inactive ambient light sensor, or "dead" display/touch digitizer. Your problems have gotten worse over time, which is clearly a symptom of a broken flex.
You phone is no longer booting up to android because the kernel no longer detects a proper "response" from the display driver and halts the bootup. This is why you can feel the phone vibrating when pressing the power button, but nothing else happens. Your screen assembly is fine, I can assure you that, unless your glass is broken, of course.
Here's one hell of a good teardown guide: http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Sony+Ericsson+Xperia+Mini+Pro+SK17i+Teardown/7275
I used that very same guide when I repaired my own xmp. I regret messing with my screen assembly because I destroyed it and had to buy a new one, which is costly
Thank You so much for the advice ! Now I'll try to repair it, It doesn't seem too difficult. Thank You Again!!!
hello, this it's the first time i write an entry in a forum, but i have a problem with my s2, the problem it's that i buyed sometime ago a screen replacement for my phone because i accidentally broke the lcd, and when it arrived, i changed it because i have some experience with this phone because i have already changed it's screen once, now, while changing the screen, i broked two things, the flex cable of the call speaker and the volume flex that goes onto the motherboard, but with that damaged, my phone turned on once, i didn't see that the volume flex wasn't there so i opened my phone again and now, it doesn't turn on, it's like only the leds of the screen turn on when i touch them, i don't know what to do, i have gone to a mobile center and the guy telled my that to repair that i have to change the flexs i broke, i have changed the call speaker but the volume one it's broken, i just want my phone back.
Sorry for my bad english
I've been lurking here for a while and just registered so I could ask you all for help.
I have a vzw Galaxy S4 (about a year old) running Android 4.2.2 build MI1. It has been dropped in its has UAG case a couple of times but it has never been wet. So there are a few problems, some related some not. 1) I'm having issues with my screen randomly (so it seems) flashing green lines then going black when I wake it from sleep. The soft buttons will stay illuminated, the screen will let me swipe to unlock (I can here confirmation) but the screen stays black. I'll then hit the lock screen button again and it will go black again. The same thing happens if I go to wake the phone via the home button as well. I have a link to a video of it acting up (Two separate occasions, one where the screen just get's a funky green tint and the other where it goes black) but cannot post it since I'm a new member. Let me know if you want me to pm it to you. Does this seem more like a hardware issue or a software/firmware issue?
2) Whenever my headphones are plugged in all I get is garbled sound coming out. No matter what app I'm using or if I'm making a call. I have also noticed that since this started happening, my ear speaker simply will not work (even with the headphones unplugged). Sometimes, when I plugin headphones then unplug them, I will get no audio out of the rear speaker either. This rear speaker issue continues until I reboot the phone.
All of this is driving me nuts and I don't have the cash to replace the phone with anything comparable so I'd like to fix these issues myself if possible. Please let me know if you have ideas/resources that may help me fix this issues. Thanks.
