Help migrate app and app data without root (from Samsung to Xiaomi) - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Galaxy S7 (old phone) and a Xiaomi 9T (new phone). Neither of them are rooted. Is there a way I can migrate my apps *and their data/settings* from the S7 to the 9T without having to root them?
Things I already tried:
Helium (I purchased Premium). Didn't work. I could backup some (not all) apps from the S7, but it couldn't see the 9T at all.
Mi Mover. The official Xiaomi migration app. This exists in the 9T (part of official phone settings now). However, Mi Mover no longer exists on Google Play but I found a recent APK on other websites and installed it on the S7. It seemed like it was working, but it kept disconnecting on the S7 and never finishing transferring a single app.
Smart Switch. The official Samsung migration app. Only supports Samsung phones as destination phone ...
All sort of other apps that claimed they can transfer apps, but in fact most were only transferring the apk.
Would be really grateful for a solution that doesn't involve root.

[Q] A few newbie questions, coming from iOS

Hey guys,
I'm quite new to Android (only a fews days with my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1). I previously had an iPhone which I always jailbroke, because I was more of a hacking & tweaker without any deep technical knowledge.
Some stuff reg. Android is still a little confusing:
I. If I buy an additional Android phone like the upcoming Sony Xperia Z, can I just sign into my Google account or use Titantium Backup to restore all my apps and settings or will that only partially works as my other device is a tablet?
II. Is there someway I can let Android update all the apps autocratically and in the backup? Or am I doing something wrong?
Just so you know, I've already manged to root my tablet and install a custom ROM, even though the process is more complicated than a simple jailbreak
I. Your Google account will keep track of apps you buy so you don't have to buy them again and you can install them on as many devices as you register on your account. If you factory reset your tablet Google Play would download the apps you had before, but it would consider your phone a new separate device. You could however use Titanium Backup to backup apps plus data to a cloud storage like dropbox, box, etc and then restore that data using Titanium Backup on your new device. You'll have to be rooted to use Titanium backup.
II. Google Play has an option to download updates automatically and for phones you can choose whether you want to use wifi only, in case you are on a limited data plan. Titanium backup allows you to schedule automatic backups. IMO the best time to run these is at night when your device is being charged.
I'd like to see Google come up with their own way of syncing app data between devices, so you could for example start playing a game on your tablet and pick up where you left off later on your phone.

Helium Backup doesn't work on Redmi 3S

Neither the Helium desktop app, nor the Chrome app, manages to enable Helium.
It still works with other phones (i.e. HTC One M9, HTC One X, Nexus 5X) but not the Xiaomi phone (Redmi 3S Pro, updated to MIUI 8.1.1.0).
I'm on Mac OS 10.9.5 and I've tried every cable I could find as well as every USB-port my MacBook has. I also tried both MTP- and PTP-mode. And all this in every possible combination...
Have anyone managed too make it work with this phone?
Use titanium
As much as I like Titanium, it's not and alternative this time. The phones are for the kids and it's of the uttermost importance that Pokémon will be functional... And without root, Titanium isn't an option.

What doesn't the "Phone Clone" app copy?

Hi there.
I currently have a Galaxy S7 Edge (rooted) and am moving to a Mate 20 Pro, which will not have root (at least initially)
What's the best solution to copy app data across from the S7? Will Huawei's Phone Clone app copy all app data?
If not, is there a better solution?
Also, does the Phone Clone app transfer data locally via wifi, or does it bounce everything to an external server?
Cheers.

In Android there is limited option to copy over the apps data unless the phone is rooted. Generally speaking you need to set up your apps again on the M20 Pro.
I have used Huawei's own backup and restore all to migrate over apps from my old Sony phone, they worked but some apps had some issues, so I finally ended up wiping the phone and start fresh, and the problems disappeared.
So probably is best to bite the bullet and set up all your apps from scratch. I know it's not ideal, all my previous phones were rooted and used Titanium Backup to restore apps and data, which without root is not possible.

Thanks, yeah I ended up not using Phone Clone as it crashed on my S7 when trying to connect to my new M20P.
I used Googles restore process which got most of the app data down, still had to set a few things up from scratch though.

Uninstalled Mi Music & Mi File Manager apps to debloat but re-installs via PlayStore!

Uninstalled Mi Music & Mi File Manager apps to debloat but re-installs via PlayStore!
Why is it that after rooting and uninstalling Mi Music & Mi File Manager, they re-appear as nag screens to re-install via Play Store?!
When I go to Play Store's "My apps & games" to check for updates for all installed apps, those 2 apps appear as part of the list while stated as "Update". In truth they are re-installation options. If you do the "Update", or go to the Mi Music & Mi File Manager page, there is also no usual "Uninstall" button option on the left side of the "Update" button on all normal apps. Either that or "Uninstall" only removes the updates.
This is the first time I have encountered this issue with any manufacturer phone in 10 years of using Android as a primary driver phone. Although this is the 2nd Xiaomi phone I have experimented with, this is the first time I have encountered this alarming issue with Xiaomi. The inconvenience of the nag screen and being unable to tap the "Update all" button on Play Store, this is the most nefarious bit of bloatware entrenchment by Xiaomi that I have seen from any manufacturer.
I do not want to just disable/freeze/hibernate those bloatware apps. I want to uninstall them permanently as part of debloating! Especially since there are better alternative apps.
*NB: Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 running latest MIUI 11.03.0
I tried Googling and there is nothing on this on XDA or internet in general.
I know that these are system apps in RED. But I have uninstalled system apps from other phone manufacturers without issue. Alternatively, does anybody know whether converting it from system app first will work or otherwise cause any issues. Hibernating/disabling them does not seem to cause any problems, which is why I wanted to uninstall them.
Use Termux Debloater to uninstall.

Help with cloning my apps/app data

Hello, how can I restore my apps and app data from my Huawei Y9 Prime to my Moto G Stylus 5G? I've been searching all over, tried multiple cloning apps from the Google Playstore (which none successfully cloned my apps, they just transferred over the apks therefore my data wouldn't carry over), but am still unsure on how I should go about it. Neither of my devices are rooted, but if that's a requirement in order to fully restore my apps and their data, then I'll go ahead and do that. A lot of my apps are installed through apks and I have about 200 apps/games total, so for the things that are available through the Playstore, I rather not go through each and every one. When I switched from my Huawei Honor 6x to my Y9 Prime, it transfered absolutely everything seamlessly just as I left it on my Honor 6x. But that method is unavailable this time since my new device isn't from Huawei, and there's no special cloning app from Motorola themselves. Each time I've attempted a cloning app yesterday (I tried about 5),none carried over any of my apps despite me selecting "apps" on every single one. On one if them it said something about "android restrictions" or something.
