HUAWEI Y6 SCC-U21 QFIL Flash file. - Huawei Y6 Questions & Answers

Hello everyone
I hope somebody can help me. I have a Huawei y6 scc-u21 that I need to fix. I have downloaded a firmware flash file to reflash the phone however, after doing so, I found that the gapps are not installed. I tried to download and install every update but still I did not have gapps installed.
Also, I noticed that after flashing and everytime I do a factory reset, the phone would not prompt me to a setup process and just automatically goes to the normal interface. Some settings are missing too.
Please help. Without GAPPS this phone is basically useless. Doesn't even get a signal even though a SIM card is inserted.
Thanks.

I had the same problem.. here is what i do to solve it:
1- download u21 cm2 backup file from here:
http://www.mobilekse.com/2018/09/huawei-y6-scc-u2131-all-file-firmware.html?m=1
2. Extract it with 7zip.
3 download an sd card update "update.app".
4. install the update with sd card.
5- extract the file with "huawei update extractor" and get "BOOT.img" , "ABOOT.img" and "CUST.img" rename them to lowercase and put them to the folder of the first firmware of step 1/
6- open qfil, select flat buit, select the programmer path from the firmware folder then select from the top: tools then partition manager.
7- select boot.img partition and with a right click select manage partition.
8- choose the boot.img extracted and replaced.
9- do the same for aboot.img and cust.img
10- the phone will exit this dump mode and you will find playstore, keyboard, notfications..
Ask me if you found anything not clear

But my mobile does not boot into CWM recovery mode as i have seen in my previous Qmobile A8 it always restarts in the defualt recovery mode which only give options to "1. reboot, 2. update from SDcard, 3. update from cashe, 4. wipe/delete user data and wipe/delete cache and in the last there is a calibarate TP, AND OFF COURSE THESE ALL ARE THE ANDROID BUILTIN RECOVERY STEPS NOT OF THE CWM
And off course there is not any file or folder named update.app in the downloaded .zip/extracted file. "as i have mentioned above the folder contains a folder named META-INF and three img files named as boot cust and system while a .bin file named logo too.
THANKS FOR YOUR TIME AND HELP.

So after I select the Reworked scatter file there is only the sec_ro partition checked to flash. So after flashing it do I now select the previous scatter file and then flash everything (including preloader)?

Downgrade from Cyanogenmod

Hi,
I made a mistake installing Cyanogenmod on my phone, forgot to make a backup in TWRP.
This Cyanogenmod version requires me to delete my former EMUI fingerprints for the fingerprint function to work. I forgot to do that also...
So now I'm trying to reinstall my custom ROM. I found the UK PLK-L01 firmware on Huawei support page, downloaded that and put it on my (not external sd)sdcard/dload/UPDATE.APP.
Then I try the Volume UP+Volume Down+Power for it to install the rom, but only thing that happens is that the phone boots into TWRP, and in there, there is no option to install a .APP file.
Please help

couldnt you just locate files and delete in root explorer or similar app?
You can open the update.app in Huawei update extractor and use adb to manually flash the system, custom, cache, boot and recovery partitions back to stock then once you boot into the stock emui os you can reflash twrp. I'm busy atm but I'll write you a proper guide soon. Or you could Google it but be careful becuase there are a lot of guide that don't work anymore
Edit: This won't require you to wipe your user data so you can keep your setting contacts apps etc.
---------- Post added at 09:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:28 PM ----------
Here is my guide it's a bit long but should be easy. I recommend reading it all first before following it just so you know what each step is doing.
Ok step one. Go to This link and download the emui version for you phone.
step two. You need to download Huawei update extractor from This link and install it on your pc.
Step three. unzip the update you extracted to a new folder on your desktop (It can be called anything bu I recommend calling it "EMUI") and put the update.app file in this folder.
Step four. open Huawei update extractor and select profile "Unknown (worstenbrood)" if it is not selected already.
Step five. Under the section where it says update file click on the ".." button navigate to the folder you made on your desktop and double click the update.app file.
Step six. Right click on the file named "BOOT.img" and click extract selected then once the green loading bar has gotten to 100% click close on the extracting window since it does not automatically do it its self.
Step seven. Repeat step six for the files named "CACHE.img", "CUST.img", "RECOVERY.img", "SYSTEM.img" and "USERDATA.img" (Only extract USERDATA.img if you want to wipe all of you apps, setting, contacts and messages)
Step eight. Open the folder you create on your desktop and copy all of the files you extracted (Only the .img files since Huawei update extractor also create some other files which you don't need) and paste them into the folder which you have adb installed into (It should be "C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools" if you used the sdk version but if you have a diffrent version of adb paste them into the folder which you have that installed to)
Step nine. Boot your phone into bootloader mode on you phone. There are a few ways to do this but use whatever way you used when you flashed twrp.
step ten. In widowns explorer (Your pc's file manager) Shift click in the folder you have adb installed into and click "Open cmd window here"
Step eleven. type the following commands into cmd "fastboot flash boot BOOT.img", "fastboot flash cust CUST.img", "fastboot flash recovery RECOVERY.img", "fastboot flash system SYSTEM.img" and if you decided to reset all of you data (Like apps, contacts, messages, setting, etc) "fastboot flash userdata USERDATA.img" Some of these may take a long time (Especially SYSTEM.img but it shouldn't take more than 10 minute if it doesn't finish within 20 minute press ctrl + c in the cmd windows and start again).
Step twelve. Type "fastboot reboot" into cmd and you will boot into stock emui. Now you can reflash TWRP if you want and re install root.
Feel free to message me if you need help.

Mecool KM8 P 2GB/16GB S912 Amlogic TV Box Android 7.1, TWRP Root Instructions Russian

Hi all recently purchased the Mecool KM8 P 2GB/16GB S912 Amlogic, updated the firmware to 7.1 but lost root access. I have managed to find some instructions on a Russian website to root the stock firmware but can't make head nor tale of it and don't want to brick the device.
The google translate version of the instructions reads as follows:
To get root 7 Androide did:
1.Nado SuperSu create a text file without an ending .txt textBOOTIMAGE = / dev / block / boot
2. Flash card throw Recovery for 7 Androyd created Fail SuperSu and SuperSU.zip (5,63 MB)
3. Boot into Recovery with USB there "Advanced" ==> "File Manager" find the file on a flash drive that put his name it .SuperSu in and copy it into the folder / system
3. Without leaving the Recovery go to "Set" and set SuperSU.zip (5,63 MB)
Can someone please help to decipher the above?
Here's the link to the instructions website. The downloads are pinned to the top of the page. Please let me know if you have any success...
http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=807465&st=1100#entry62380504
1. Create a texfile with this content:
BOOTIMAGE = /dev/block/boot
If I am not mistaken then this file should be saved wit the name .SuperSU and no extension.
2. Copy this file and the Supersu.zip onto a SD with a working TWRP recovery.
3. The file .SuperSu is now to be copied into the system folder - it does not specify if the one from the box or the one from the recovery is used - I assume the one on the box. But needs to be tested to be sure.
4. Without ending the recovery session go back and install install SuperSu.
Thing is you need a recovery that works with Nougat to do any of this.
But then again translators suck and someone capable of reading russing could bring some light on it....
Managed to get it to work. Steps in common English are as follows:
To get root on Android 7.1:
1. Create a text file (eg in Notepad) and name it Supersu without an ending .txt with the folowing text BOOTIMAGE = / dev / block / boot
2. On a microsd card copy Recovery.img (TWRP 7), the created SuperSu file (from step 1) and SuperSU.zip (5.63 MB)
3. Insert the card into Boax and boot into Recovery.
4. Using theTWRP recovery got to Advanced" then "File Manager" find the created Supersu file (from step 1) and copy it into the folder / system.
5. Without leaving the Recovery go to "Install" and flash SuperSU.zip (5.63 MB) from the Microsd card
can you post the required Files here?
i dont understand russian so i dont know what they wrote on 4pda.ru
I have found all file and attached at end of the Post
1. decompress km8p.zip to the root of your TF-Card so you have 3 Files on the root of your TF-Card (.SuperSU, SuperSU.zip and recovery.img)
2. power off your KM8P
3. Press Reset and hold it
4. Power your Box on and hold Reset
5. If you see the TWRP-Logo you can stop press Reset
6. On the Screen accept write and modifying Systemfiles
7. go to Advanced" then "File Manager" copy .Supersu file from TF-Card in/ system of your Box
8. then go to "Install" and flash SuperSU.zip (5.63 MB) from the TF-Card
9. Reboot and now you have root installed

I think you uploaded the wrong file, as the zip file you uploaded only contain one file (km8p), which has no file extension (it is probably a .zip file).
However it is missing the other files you are talking about, so could you upload the right files?
Thanks for the effort!

I attached the TWRP for Android 7 here, if you still need it.
I have also started a thread on how to root with Magisk instead of supersu, as supersu wouldn't work for me.

Root without unlock bootloader any devices

hello everyone ..... i will share the root trick without ubl (unlock bootloader)
this method only applies to root magisk only.
this trick I have tested with mobile phone huawei y5 2017 with android version 6.0
and xiaomi redmi note 3 mtk ..
what you prepare as follows:
1.Firmware same with your phone type (my recommendation is flash FW on your phone)
2.Boot.img from the appropriate firmware of your phone type
3.magisk manager
execution steps:
1. make sure the phone is connected internet
2. open the phone settings to activate usb debugging and install the source check from the outside in the security settings.
3. copy boot.img into sdcard on phone
4. install magisk manager application and open the application,
go to the settings on the top left and search "booted boot output format and you can choose according to your needs (if select img.tar, this works with Odin samsung). make your choice (if img = flash with fastboot or spflashtool, ufibox.
go back and select pairs and you will see 3 options "download zip, patch boot img file, install "
please select "patch img boot file" select file and search boot.img stored in sdcard and ok ... magisk manager will download automatically ... just wait until there is installation process is complete.
after finished you see its results in the internal memory in the folder "magisk manager"
there is a file named "patched_boot.img" that means success
copy patched_boot.img to laptop / pc and rename it to "boot.img" and flash it with the appropriate tool of your phone.
if boot.tar in flash with odin
if boot.img flash with spflashtool (if your chipset is mtk)
just install patched_boot.img your phone is rooted
thanks to @topjohnwu
I am sorry, my English is not good
*remember that all the risks in modification are at risk and I am not responsible for all your failures .....
thanks for visiting and hopefully to suc ...
Does this work with Sony Xperia X Performance (Android oreo) that has ubl no?

Filesystem seems to be damaged

Every time I try to install a custom rom, my device gets bricked. I'm stuck in a bootloop and TWRP tells me, that /data is unusable and /system can't be unmounted.
Right now I get I back to life, if I change the filesystem in TWRP for /data from f2fs to ext4 and back. After that /data is empty, but usable again. To get /system back to work, I erase it with "fastboot erase system". Then I reboot TWRP and reinstall STF-L09 8.0.0.360(C432) with zxz0O0s HuRUpdater. The logfile for the installation is attached with the title "Log during installation.zip".
After the installation I do a reboot and go through all the setup stuff of Android (WLAN, do you want to use..., etc.). Then everything seems to work fine. I can use the phone and reboot without a problem. But if I start TWRP, there are error messages about it can't unmount /system. I attached that logfile with the title "Log after Installation.zip". If I try to install an OTA update it gets bricked again.
No matter, how I try to install the custom rom, or how I reset my phone after it gets bricked, seems to make a difference. To me it seems like, either a problem with the file system, or a driver problem. But I'm not sure, because I'm more experienced with PCs. If I would have such a problem with a PC, I would erase everything and do a fresh start. But I don't know how to handle this here.
Please help me, to get out of this bricking cycle, before I can build a wall.
Status Update 1:
I went back to STF-L09C432B120 (Android 7) with this method: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75084955&postcount=17
All credits to gaguga:
Rollback from 8 android to 7
1. Place the firmware files of ?any? android 7 update.zip, update_data_public.zip and update_all_hw.zip in the HWOTA8 / repack folder. (I used STF-L09C432B120)
2. Run the bat file "repack" to repackage the zip files. This will prepare our firmware
I had a problem with this and had to update the file META-INF\com\google\android\update-binary by hand.
3. Create the folder "HWOTA8" on the SD card. (Without quotes)
4. Place the archive hwota8_update.zip, STF_RECOVERY8_NoCheck.IMG (from the HWOTA8 folder) and the three update archives (update.zip, update_data_public.zip and update_all_hw.zip (from the repack folder after repackaging)) to the "HWOTA8" folder on the sd card.
5. Boot into the TWRP
6. Install the hwota8_update.zip file which lies in the HWOTA8 folder on the sd card. The phone will reboot into the recovery mode and install the update automatically.
7. After the rollback, boot into recovery and make a reset
This was the first time, that I was able use the original recovery without problems.
I think I will try to do a rebrand at the weekend.
