Battery problem - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

I'm planning to buy used Poco from a friend, he changed battery 2 months ago, but now he gets only 3-4h of active use.
Phone is on the latest official rom and I saw people with great sot on that rom. Did any of you had same issue? Is it just battery problem or could be something else? Thanks.

Try with original battery. Maybe he put some of replacement batteries...low class

battery problem.;hardware or software issue?

After installing cm 13 (probably 1 month ago), my battery life started decreasing day by day..
i.e. suddenly falling from 14% to zero..
Than it increased to 20%...and than 40%
I tried calibrating my battery , still the results are same
Finally I went to service centre..after seeing my battery, he said..it isn't a hardware issue because whenever a battery damages it expands in its size..and mine seems to be normal..
So I installed carbon rom(KitKat) to check, whether it's a hardware issue or software ,after charging to 100..I didn't got any bump ..as I checked till 2%..
It gave me exactly 4hrs and 2 mins of SOT ..is it alright?
I m attaching a pic of stats..
My question is..- is it possibly a software issue or hardware?
Please help me out in sorting this issue
Thanks in advance
I am facing same issue.I suggest you to flash exodus ROM though it may not help you with this problem but you will get better battery you will get 5hrs 30 min to 6 hrs SOT with normal usage.
Whatever you stated exactly the same thing happened to me and I did the same what you did I.e installed the Carbon ROM.
Just slightly improvement but no luck.
You got full drainage without a bump. How lucky you're.
Finally I replaced my battery with the new one and all became normal.
I think it's probably the battery problem.

Vl check for few days, if the problem persists..I vl replace it!
Anyways ty
Before replacing I suggest you to try stock optimised. Carbon ROM drained a lot of my battery at idle state. Its better now with stock optimised version.,
I have also tried stock optimized, yes the drainage is not as carbon but the major problem is that bump in the drainage, so I am sure that the problem related to the battery.

Unfortunately , today ..when I rebooted at 40% charge ..after booting it was 7%
Definitely a hardware problem..so I m gonna replace mah battery ☺
Same issue with me will replace battery.
The service guy insisted me to not to change the battery..
According to him ..it's not a battery issue, it is something in internal circuit..
Because , he had already replaced more than 15 moto batteries all with the similar problem ..in last 2 months..
Out of which more than 5 came back within 2 days claiming that the problem still exist...
Is it possible so?
Luckily changing the battery worked for me.

Huge battery problems

Hello, i have a redmi 3 since 2 years, and I've been experiencing some huge drain in battery, when I pull the charger after reaching 100% almost inmediately drops to 94%x I was using resurrection remix, I'm now in Xiaomi.eu MIUI 9.5 and battery life is slight better (I must mention that I use Greenify and bootManager modules)
I'm afraid it could be a hardware problem, this phone belonged to my brother and it had passed a lot of dropping, shocks and liquid, I even bought a replacement battery, problem stays the same, the phone never overheats or hangs so it can't be an internal short.
I've been reading a lot of people talking about 3 days battery life and I always need to charge it after a 11 hour journey
For example this morning unplugged from the charge and did a 30 min videocall via Whatsapp and dropped to 78%. Is that normal. WTH IS WRONG? This is making me NUTS!!!
Hi, I think - your brother is not guilty, because i have same problem with Redmi 3 too long time. After one year and half from day to day -ups- and battery life is in deep ****. I try every ROM - MIUI 7/8/9, lineage ROMs. MoKee, everything, but old stamina battery life did not return. Now battery is empty after few hours and I don´t think she is so ruined ... I have suspect producer from some planned battery life error after some times, because than you must buy new model.... Either way, I did not find solution
Now I have Redmi 5A, but ii is very cheap phone, not so good like ido in any case...

Do I have a battery issue, it lasts half the time it should. Oneplus 7t Pro

For a bit of background I never use features on phone until I need so I have 4g turned off, data, wifi, bluetooth, sync, battery saver turned on.
My phone is lucky if it lasts 3 days on full charge, and to make sure I always leave phone charged overnight just in case.
I did used to own a regular 7 Pro for 2 months just before this and the battery lasted 7-10 days and that was a used phone! All the other smart phones I have last a similar amount of time.
I did try 2 different custom roms and they are the same lucky if I get past 3 days on a full charge.
With everything turned off and with it being a brand new phone it should last more than 3 days, even my cheap nasty Chinese no brand phones lasted 7 days.
The charger I use is an Anker that charges my other phone (a Mi Mix 3) Ok and a GPD Win and when the Oneplus or the Mi Mix charge they show fast charging so I doubt its the charger.
Is it just a bad battery?
same here, tried some roms as well, no way i get 3 days with my infrequent phone usage. I also drain 5% overnight on airplane mode on PA, other roms were worse.

If you are rooted have you tried skydragon kernel? Has great battery life for me on stock rooted ROM. Custom ROMs drain more than stock rooted with custom kernel from my experience
Interesting, I do find it strange though how I root all my phones, bar the ones that don't have available custom roms even the cheap Chinese phones and never have I come across a phone with a battery life this bad, even as stated the 7 Pro I had that was used with a custom rom lasted 7-10 days and there wasn't much difference in specs for that and that was with a custom rom.
I heard someone say custom kernel before but I heard that can do more damage than a custom rom so avoided it.

Buying a new battery?

I've got this phone for 2 and a half years, it's still working fine but I don't know if it makes sense to buy a new battery or change the phone directly. Is there anyone who changed the battery recently? Is it that much better?

I also thought about it but I recently moved to AOSiP Q and combined with Ethereal kernel I get 8 - 9 hours of SOT on a phone that is as old as yours. So it's pretty much impossible to drain the battery in 1 day.
I charge my phone every night, so for me there is no point in having a newer/better/bigger battery

BATTERY DRAIN IN ANY ROM??

Hey guys sorry long post ahead.
I bought my poco last 2018 and the original battery died last year 2022. I bought a replacement battery which lasted me march this year because it bloated and bought another one. My first purchase was a defective one it shuts down at 50% and bought a 2nd one and the issue is it drains fast from 100% to 80% and returns to normal drain from 70% to 20% and then shuts down. I did flash many roms and did some research but the problem still persist and i cant find any answers. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Note: My 2nd battery purchase was fine when i use it, After i charge it for the first time the problem happened until now. anyone experience this kind of sorcery?
Maybe your charger is the problem, try with another.
Flashing rom won't fix the issue, this could mainly be due to either a battery issue or just some software issue that's causing your battery drainage. Otherwise I'd recommend you to just check the charger as well just in-case.
Even when flashing rom you've got to remember that bloat is usually also a cause for most battery drains nowadays
Thank you guys for the suggestions. I will try another charger. Honestly my charging cable has issues though but i don't know what's the relevance of the charger and cable with the draining of the battery. Please enlighten me.
Install Better Battery Stats to check for Wakelocks, Alarms etc. What's the Deep Sleep percentage? 99% time it's the battery to blame.
UPDATE:
I change cable and charger but it persist. I installed Ampere and checked the discharged and minimum is 290ma ranging to 800ma. I think the battery is to blame.

Use 3c Battery Manager to check battery drain in the background even even the device is locked for better stats. How old is the battery?
just newly bought this month. After i installed the battery it has like 70% percent in it and i drained to to 0% then i charged it for the 1st time it reached 100% and drain fast to 80% and slowly draining like normal from 60% percent to 30% to 40%. when it reached 20% i autmatically shuts off.

Looks like battery issue. Check it for a few more days and if it's not resolved get it replaced within the warranty period. Majority of third-party batteries are utter rubbish though.
BM4E batteries here are rubbish. I think they're old stocks and not genuine. I will try to buy an asus zenphone pro max M1 battery and modify it. If its still not working then its time to replace it.

just gonna ask some noob question. Does 3c battery gonna fix battery calibration? its just a monitor app right?

Of course not. It's better than Ampere to check idle battery drain. That's all.

Initially when Xiaomi had priced the battery exorbitantly I had flirted with the idea of modding ZP MPM1 battery but I had no experience with soldering and Asus wasn't selling the batteries separately. I wasn't particularly enthused about buying third-party MPM1 batteries of questionable quality so I was just waiting patiently.
Later I was fortunate enough to snag an official one just some months before Xiaomi India permanently discontinued all spares including the battery for F1. No advance intimation to the users at all. Just dropped all support out of the blue. Battery price had been massively cut so I was actually thinking to buy another one. For all my future devices I plan to buy a replacement battery in the 3rd year. Currently using Poco F4 which cost nearly 2.5x compared to F1 so might stock two batteries if possible.
Third-party batteries might not fare well with 18W charger. It might be better to use a 10W charger instead.

Lucky you. unfortunately no ones selling authentic bm4e's here even xiaomi's service center. I agree with you on buying 2 to 3 spare batteries. I will try to find authentic ZP MPM1 batteries or atleast working third party.
I do not know this particular model or battery, but a while ago, I had a smartphone that was draining the battery like crazy. The same battery with the same ROM was doing fine in another phone of the same model. So sometimes, the phone itself is the issue.
