So I'm thinking of upgrading my phone which has a SD660 to a Huawei Nova 5T which has Kirin 980. Purely in terms of performance, is it going to be a big upgrade?

I am looking at buying a new android phone. I would like to know which among the two is the better buy in your opinion and why.
Huawei Ascend G330
Dual core processor
Android 4.0
5 MP Cam
1500 mAh battery
Prices at 10999 INR
Huawei Honor U8860
1.4Ghz single core processor
Android 2.3
8 MP Cam
1900 mAh battery
Prices at 13490 INR
And I want to root my phone.
So, it's time to upgrade again. I have 2 main options - The Elephone P7000 or the Oneplus One. The Elephone has an MTK 6752 at 1.7GHz and 3GB of single channel, 800MHz Ram. The OPO has a Snapdragon 800 series processor, with 3GB of dual channel ram at 933 MHz. In an average, day-to-day scenario, realistically, will there be any noticeable difference in the fluidity of the devices? They're both 4G, too, so will general internet browsing feel the same speed, or will both devices feel about the same speeds as each other? Thanks for any insights
I would definitely get the Oneplus One. I never heard of Elephone. The Oneplus One is a known device and therefore it's better supported by developers and I suppose it's easier to find repair parts as well. Also, Snapdragon processors are generally better performing as well.
Hi all.
I'm having a Huawei Mediapad X1 (7d-501u) however after purchase its performance was really really poor and laggy. Updated the software to B011 version , still the same poor performance (maybe just a very bit less laggy) ... So am I the only one with this experience ? Are other people satisfied with this device performance? It should be packed with 2gb ram & 1.6 quad processor... Actually I was expecting a monster in my hands...
Please share your opinions.
Thanks.
The hardware advantages of the X1, are: its screen (size and quality) and its huge battery. Processor and other performance issues are not. Just compare to previous top phones like the oneplus one.
The X2 should correct this, but maybe too late....
Totally agree with you. The screen and battery are great, but compare the performance with even much inferior devices like my samsung tab 4 7.0" which i thought it was a slow device untill I bought the X1 !
I really miss my old note 8.0 it was liquid smooth...
Hi. I'd love to see a face to face comparison between 2 identical smartphones, one running Android ARMv7 32-bit and the other one running Android ARMv8 64-bit, preferably Marshmallow, although Lollipop 5.1.1 would do it fine too. I've thought that the LG Nexus 5X would be a good phone to test the difference between these 2 versions of Android.
Which one would be faster restarting?
Which one would have the CPU colder when decoding videos (Full HD or even 4K)? And CPU load?
What would be the main differences?
Ram usage and if it would be a problem having "only" 2GB of RAM like the 5X.
Benchmarks.
CPU usage and load under same conditions in both terminals, CPU temp monitoring to see the theoretical improvements ARMv8 have done.
Can anyone do it?
Up!
I don't know about how much the benchmark reflect
real life performance of device but this is interesting.
few day ago i was talking to my friend who has same phone redmi note 7 pro and he said that his older phone which was Xiaomi A2 was better performing in pubg.
i didn't agree because it has 512 gpu and redmi note 7 pro has 612 gpu so i told him that this gpu is updated and is better than 512, but then i started to compare both gpu on this website
https://www.notebookcheck.net/Adreno-612-vs-Adreno-512_9876_8778.247598.0.html
and i was surprised by the results
and the i opened 3dmark website to check and i found that in gpu performance redmi note 7s, redmi note 7, and Mi A2 perform better that redmi note 7 pro how is this possible or how this processor or gpu upgrade work in phones.
this is the link of 3dmark result of phones
https://benchmarks.ul.com/compare/best-smartphones?displaySize=3.0,13.4&search=redmi note 7
I think I am the right one to answer this. I own both devices, and trust me... Rn7pro is miles ahead in terms of cpu and GPU performance from Mi a2.
Your friend sounds like a tool. I don't know about the benchmarks, but pubg by default selected high settings in graphics on rn7pro. And also by default, you can go upto ultra fps settings without using any graphics tool for PUBG.
Whereas in mi a2, pubg selects medium fps and by default the maximum fps supported is high.
I play on ultra settings and the rn7pro maintains a steady 40-45 fps(goes upto 52 depending on the scene being rendered).
Also keep in mind that qualcomm's series 6xx processors are based on custom kryo architecture.
Snapdragon 675 even beats 710 and 712 in benchmarks. The reason is the fact that Snapdragon 675 is based on kryo 460 model. Google all this and you will come to know what these terms mean. Snapdragon 660 which powers mi a2 is miles behind both in GPU and cpu performance.
