Hi there. I was following a guide on how to unlock the bootloader for the xiaomi redmi note 3 pro and it failed on the last step as i entered fastboot oem-unlock go
now when i rebooted the phone, it started up a new setup process and in the end it says my phone is locked to another mi account and that i cannot access it without the password. according to the miui forums there is a way to bypass this, but when i start extracting the .tgz file, i dont get the same files as listed and when i try to flash it again using miflash, it says files missing and i cannot proceed.
How do i get this issue fixed up so that i can get my phone back to at least function without all headache? I have flashed and unlocked a nexus device before but it never gave me such issues. Thanks in advance
(unfortunately it seems that i cannot post outside links as its a new account)
i managed to unbrick my phone, but going through the unlock process, after i enter fastboot oem unlock-go it would give me the result of Failed: token verification failed. how should i proceed

Hi there,
as the thread title suggests, my phone is linked to a non-existing Mi account.
As my (100% correct) password didnt work, the Xiaomi support told me to try and delete the Mi account, which was linked to the phone. Bad idea!
And now, as the shop shipped out the device with an unofficially unlocked bootloader, my bootloader has been relocked and I can only flash ROMs via fastboot. But this seems not to work in terms of deleting the MI account from the phone. No matter what ROM I flashed, there still is the login screen with the prompt to enter the password for the non-existing account.
I have tried many guides on how to remove the Mi account from the phone, but no luck this far.
Can anyone please provide a solution?
Thanks in advance!

Oops, sorry, forgot about the two different models for a minute.
I'm on Snapdragon (kenzo) and the phone was ordered as new (but with some inofficial store ROM).
I tried a lot of different ROMs and yes, I could flash them in spite of the locked bootloader,
but no luck still with the account login screen...
After deleting MI account, flash any ROM stable/developer ROM without SIM card inserted in EDL mode and try again. That login to MI only comes in first boot if SIM card was inserted, without SIM card atleast I don't get that login screen. Then create MI ACCOUNT in mobile itself on Wi-Fi, not with SIM inserted. Hope this helps a bit

Well then you can flash any AOSP ROM via TWRP (I recommend ZCX TWRP recovery).Go for lineage os or slim7 both are quite good Roms.
For the non existent account issue login through a computer and then try forgot password and other things see if u can succeed.

Sorry, but due to the locked bootloader, I couldn't manage to flash TWRP so far. But after I had another look at the respective forums, I understand that there is a new possibility to flash recovery with a locked bootloader. I will try this tomorrow evening and report back.
Thanks so far!
About the use the computer suggestion: I have tried everything in this matter, believe me
Couldn't even make it work with the help of Xiaomi support...

Thanks for your reply, but I have tried that to no luck. I don't understand how Xiaomi can check my account without a Wi-Fi or GSM connection, but they still manage anyhow...

Ok report back via private message i am keen to listen the outcome.
Okay, I have tried to flash TWRP over the locked bootloader by replacing the recovery.img in the developer ROM.
The MiFlash process was successful, but when I tried to enter recovery by pressing power and volume up, I always ended up with the picture of an USB-cable and a PC. So it seems like there was no recovery installed.
So, I couldn't flash any other ROMs unfortunately...
Anybody has any suggestions how to get lineage or any other ROM on my Note 3?

Thanks for the tip, but how can I flash a new kernel with locked bootloader and without a custom recovery?
Fixed using this
I had the same problem and took me 2 days to find a good solution and here it is... There is a software called RBSoft Mobile Tool (used v1.4 for RMN3). It's commercial but you can find it online if that's not a problem
adb shell
su
setprop sys.usb.config diag,adb
...and it will show you the port you have to use and just press Remove Mi account. It takes couple of seconds. Reboot, and whoila
Good luck
Edit: This has to be done in EDL mode but it's noted in application. Phone has to be rooted, too

Thanks for your help.
I have managed to open the bootloader, but no success yet with flashing TWRP - MiFlash shows a success, but when I try to enter recovery by the button combination, the phone does simply nothing (sometimes it will boot normally when I release the keys).
Rebooting to recovery via ADB doesn't work for the fact, that the phone is only recognized in fastboot mode. This may either come from the fact, that I can't get into the phone in order to activate USB debugging or from my driver chaos, since I have installed every Xiaomi driver in existance, I guess
I'll try different versions of TWRP over the weekend and let you know how this works out...
what is your current rom?

Hey I think you are doing something wrong.
After following steps of unlocking bootloader, did you reboot in fastboot mode and then run following code in command prompt?
fastboot oem unlock-go
Try above code (this will be the final nail in the coffin for unlocking bootloader)
After this you follow below link to install recovery
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/zcx-twrp-install-twrp-flash-supersu-t3462448
I installed recovery by this thread, excellent one, no hassles
Let me know if it helped you.

But no luck with the "fastboot oem unlock-go" either.
It shows that the oem unlock is not allowed...
Is there any kind of workaround for that?
Hello friends of XDA, I have a big problem between hands, I have a MOTO Z and I had it in android 7.0 since last year the update to andorid 7.1.1 did not arrive and I felt that with android 7 the battery was consumed very quickly, so I tried to find the update to flash it and just about 3 days ago I found it, I proceeded to download it and flash it in fastboot and adb.
The thing is that a few months ago, browsing through my phone (I had already rotated it, and unlocked the bottloader, I decided to re-block the bootloader, and remove the root, which never worked at 100) I got into the developer options, and I saw an option that until then I didn't know about its "OEM Unlock"function, as it was turned on and deactivated because I thought it didn't work.
Returning to the update flashing I proceeded as usual, with the commands, I proceed to restart the device and show the image of the boot of motrola but then it shows me a message in red letters.
"Startup Failed"
"failed to pass validation, backup to fastboot.
I thought it was a compatibility problem with the downloaded version of 7.1.1 so again I decided to flash the stock rom 7.0 but when I finished and restart the same message appeared.
I started to investigate and it seems that the OEM blockade is responsible for not being able to install any Stock Rom, or anything, and now I have a nice brick with Moto mods and I can't use it.
I wanted to unlock OEM in fastboot but nothing. sends message from "ALLOW OEM UNLOCK IN SETTINGS"
There is way to unlock the OEM from pc or fastboot without needing to be unlocked from the android settings, as in my case it is impossible for me,
I'd be very grateful for your help friends, I know it's a bit tedious to read but it's the only phone I have and I feel weird without it on the street.:bueno::bueno::llorando:

What do you mean with "I blocked my bootloader"?
Twrp is easy to flash. Root is integrated in ressurection remix rom. And this rom is great. Just try to flash twrp in Fastboot and than ressurection remix with twrp.
Can you boot in Fastboot?
Do you remember what build of 7.1.1 you had on your device before downgrading to 7.0?
If so, I would suggest finding that firmware (the full stock firmware, not OTA updates) or newer if you can, and try to flash that. Since your bootloader is still likely from the 7.1.1 build, a locked bootloader will only permit files matching the same patch level (i.e. from the exact same stock ROM as that bootloader patch) to boot.
If not, then unfortunately there's not a lot we can do. You could wait for a newer firmware to get leaked, but as your device is unable to boot (due to failing the bootloader checks) and you cannot toggle OEM unlocking because you cannot boot, it's a nasty vicious circle that is difficult to get out of. You may have to consider sending your device for service and pay for an expensive motherboard replacement otherwise, since Motorola have a record of your device being unlocked. Your service centre experience may vary.
Only lock a bootloader after ensuring you've flashed all the stock firmware and it is all the same patch level as your bootloader. Hopefully you'll find newer firmware that you can repair with.

I solved it, I finally flashed the stock rom to my phone and it works.
Apparently my pc was not flashing the stock rom in adb, and the phone turned off when loading the software. I did it 3 times until I load correctly and start well.
if you have the same problem apparently then OEM Blocking is not responsible. You have to flash the most current rom or the one that you had by default when the brick happened to you, you flash it in a normal way with commands of adb and ready, I would have to come back to life.
download from firmware center MotoZ Griffin the most current rom stock at 7.1.1

Thanks for your help friend, I finally flashed it with a recent android 7.1.1 update. Apparently the OEM lockout was not the culprit, but it was an interrupted flash of android 7.1.1 at some point when loading the software to the phone, it would shut down on its own and not complete the installation, which showed me the mentioned message. I didn't realize that and thought it was the OEM blockade.
I finally did it on another pc and it worked. the phone came back to life.
I have one Moto Z2 Force (XT1789-05), bought from coolicool.com, I didn't know device came Unlocked Bootloader, Device rom had problem with many apps, I googled and found one topic in XDA developer to Install Stock Rom, I downloaded and Installed India Rom, it's worked somehow fine, but still had problem, I downloaded Verizon Rom, Android 8, after Installed Android 8 Verizon Rom, Locked device bootloader immediately, now device stuck at Welcome Wizard in Android 8, after select language I got this message: (Please wait, this may take a few minutes) this is proof video (http://ahmn.co/Upload/IMG_0161.MOV), after this issue, device already locked, I can't unlock, because need to go to the Developer Option in Setting, I stucked in Welcome Wizard, there isn't any bypass, So, I start to search in Google, XDA-Forum, Android Central and more, I created many threads, many requests, no one can't help me, I tried to reach google developer support to the tell to me how can I bypass Android 8 Welcome Wizard, there is must be a way, but I can't find it, now I can access to Android Recovery and Bootloader

Hello I have a redmi note 4x completely briked..the phone has the bootloader blocked, when I turn it on it restarts and never gets to load the system, I have already flash by testpoint many rom, Miui developer, Global Stable and still in the same, The phone in fastboot mode and Revory (the original of the phone) does not restart, and during the flash by testpoint it is also maintained and never disconnected, I say this because I have read some cases that this happens. I'm no expert, but I would go online and unlock the bootloader. Then follow this: http://c.mi.com/thread-334-1-0.html There might be other ways, but this one will work, even if getting Xiaomi to unlock the bootloader takes time.
Unlock bootloader, it takes 3 days for Xiaomi to approve it. Install twrp recovery, wipe everything and install some aosp rom.

Not sure but I think you should install adb and fastboot on pc and then Connect your phone then try "fastboot devices" and if it shows you some device, it means that your device is plugged in properly then try "fastboot oem unlocking" command this would unlock your bootloader, well the big problem is that all these commands are with respect to the Linux pc, there are something similar to do with windows and worse thing is that xiaomi have different method for unlocking the bootloader as shown in other post

Thanks for your answer, but for unlock the bootloader of a Xiaomi Phone you need first apply and ask permissions with a mi account , after that use a sofware name Mi Unlock with the account login on the phone and on the MI Unlock software. Is the only way in Xiaomi's Phone. The big problen here is I can't get into the Android System I can't put my account in the phone for unlock the bootloader.

you may use wipedata option in recovery mode, if you done have already backed up your data or you can sacrifise the data on phone,it will load the original recovery rom, than upgrade rom.....

Hello Sirs/Ma'am,
Is there a way to flash Pocophone F1 without unlocking bootloader? My phone's update was interrupted and sent to Xiaomi Service Centers but they said it was hopeless unless they change it's motherboard.
My phone is now in bootloop and shows only whitescreen, I can only access the boot options (accessible by keys)
Tried flashing it but all tutorials I encounter requires me to unlock the bootloader. Tried unlocking it but I get the error "Current account is not bound to this device", I tried every account I had but It all didn't work.

Hi Im sorry forgot to mention my phone was in Bootloop Updated the thread
I think there is no other way to flash poco f1 without unlocking the bootloader. if you are flashing different ROM. but if not. try the flashing guide of using MiFlash tool there is instruction on how to flash using MiFlash.
back in old days by entrying in to EDL (redmi3s) you could replace boot.img (stock) with boot.img (twrp) in the extract .tgz file (3gb)
redmi3s goes to edl by pressing all 3 buttons 30 seconds
once you have twrp on locked bootloader you could flash other roms! since stock recovery is replaced
however later they made edl hard by short circuit test point method where back cover must be removed and two certain points to be touched by wire of motherboard and connecting usb wire to pc SIMULTAINEOUSLY
this method is valid till now! if you remove poco back panel it can go in to edl
but now flashing EDL requires AUTHORIZED account in Xiaomi flasher so its not possible anymore!
But this tool requires that ADB is enabled in developer options... If the phone is completely bricked or screen cracked... There is no way for me to enable it.
This is the reason I made this post.
