GS2 allows me to send SMS to contacts no more than 10 Even more annoying is, that also email addresses are counted in a group list. Although I'm writing SMS and try to add the contact group in it, the list shows both the phone numbers and email addresses!!! Helpdesk said: "It is possible to tick the whole group at once, if you have contacts 10 or less." So, if all of them have email too, I can have a group list of 5 contacts max!!!
Is there any chance to get rid of this limit???
Same question
I have a limit to 10 contacts per time to select
See this mod, only for custom deodexed roms though.
Samsung Galaxy 2 has an AWFUL design in the contacts system.
If my friend Bill calls me and I go to save his new phone number into an existing contact, the phone lists ALL 1200 Google contacts "All Contacts" - it's awful design and stupid.
I've discussed this previously in a thread here (some people didn't initially understand my point)

Also when I go to send a new SMS from the Messaging tool on the stock Galaxy 2, when I type in a partial name it resolves email address's as well. Why on EARTH would I want to "SMS" an email address? It's such awful terrible, stupid design and I find it frustrating.
Does the CM9 builds for the SGII continue to do this or do they use a different contacts / messaging engine which doesn't have this poor design?
Anyone know the answer (or even understand what I'm getting at?)
Appreciate it.
Anyone? I need to decide to u/g or not
I think, the idea behind listing all accounts is:
1. You may add a new number to an already existing e-mail account, you have in your list.
2. The SMS app isn't seen as SMS only, but as an overall message app. So you can write a "message" either to a number or an e-mail.
Glad that I could help.

1:
I don't want to add a number to an existing EMAIL account I want to add it to a list of "My Contacts" NOT "All Contacts" - this is the way other Android devices work and it's utterly terrible design by Samsung.
2: The SMS app sucks then, can I replace it entirely? If so, any suggestions?
FWIW, to replace both stock sms and contacts I have tried Contapps and Deja Office.
Hope it helps
Have a strange issue, when I send email using the stock email app via my pop3 account the outgoing name does not display. I know how to set it, I can set it in the settings and it stays there I have changed it etc but whenever i send an email it does not get applied properly. The real issue is, on my outlook client when i receive the email it comes form an unknown sender (name AND email address is unknown) when i send an email to a exchange server it picks up the form email address but not the name. Now this plays HAVOC with spam because every spam filter in the world is going to mark an email with an unknown sender as spam.
It used to work just fine, the only change I made, (and I can't remember if it worked after the change or not) was that I went form the stock 2.3.4 ROM to bruno martins 2.3.5 V3.3MOD ROM.
Any advice? I could probably copy over a copy of the original email.apk file to see if it fixes it but anyone else experienced this?
phone is an adroid star a3 (also known as G11)
Hi. How do I send an email to one of my exchange groups with stock aosp email app on android 4.3? When typing a name in the recipents area the contact shows up but none of my groups.

Anyone?
I use the old android email app because I don't like any other email app. I've gotten it going on my new phone but I can't remember how I was able to change the default sending address on a new email when in the combined view. I pretty much only send work related emails and need them to go out on my work address. When in combined view and I hit new email it defaults to my gmail address. I have to click and choose my work address. I was able to change it on my last phone but I don't remember how I did it. Anyone remember how to change it?
It likely won't be useful to anyone else but I figured out how I changed it before. Well actually you can't change it. You have to enter your accounts in the order you want them to be in. I removed and reinstalled the app making sure to add my work email first. Now in the combined view a new message comes up with my work email address in it already. Thanks qqq1, you're the best.
