I bought a second hand S3 here in Manila.
It is locked to a certain carrier but its already unlocked when i bought it.
But i have a problem with the IMEI and SN.
The serial is 000000...
The IMEI is 3544....
The IMEI on back of the phone and box is 3539.....
The owner said its because of the unlock, thats why the IMEI was changed.
Anyway to fix this?
( Sorry for bad english. I hope you get my point. )
Return the phone back to the seller immediately.

Why? But I have signal.
Phone may be stolen is one why .
Two seller may have damaged EFS/ IMEI and its not repairable .
Three you have no Samsung warranty .
Its illegal to change a IMEI in most countries .

He bought it with plan to a certain carrier and then he paid for it to become unlock.
Can I install custom rom with this phone? Or flash stock FW?

Yes but it may result in no network .
Read the faqs and guides .
Reads to me as a stolen phone that someone has hacked or tried to change IMEI to sell the phone and stop paying the contract .
Thats due to IMEI numbers changed as opposed to missing or the generic one after a bad flash .

there are programes to change imel you can use it

Nobody said that at all .
Changing IMEI is illegal .
IMEI problems are either no IMEI or generic 00049 type of number .
Your IMEI has been changed and that is illegal and why suspect stolen phone .

Hello Everyone
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900M that my friend bought a couple weeks ago, it was a used phone and the seller report the phone as stolen a few hours after the trade was made...
So now my friend have a phone that is blacklisted, and I was wondering if there is some way that I can help him... I tried to look for a way to change the Imei with no luck, so I came here seeking for some guidance... I know changing the imei could be illegal on some countries, but stealing is a crime and my friend got stolen with that second hand purchase...
Any information anyone could give me would be appreciated, and if you need any information from the phone to help with it I will look for it and post it...
P.s: I ask the carrier and there's nothing they could do.
Thanks everyone! :good:
Some phone info:
Android 6.0.1
Already rooted
Service state: Out of Service
Imei certi: PASS, 1
Install xposed module. Try IMEI changer and see if that works.

Try changing the rom .. preferably some N7 rom and then try with xposed.. make sure build.prop value for model shouldn't be of S5..

So, it being illegal in some countries makes it okay to ask here on ways to circumvent? So much for plausible deniability on XDA's part.
He're is some guidance. Locate the original owner and return the phone to them. It may make their Christmas even if they cannot get the IMEI off blacklist.

can you help me solve this wrong imei problem
How do you know the imei is wrong?
Generic 0049 imei or its null/null im guessing. I have the null imei with no baseband looking for a fix too
How did it get into that situation?
Flash the latest stock ROM with Odin and then check imei.

Because while changing IMEI might be used for genuine reasons, it also allows for shady, not legal ones, and it is not allowed on xda.

As the title says, I erased IMEI last summer, and been waiting for fix since then. The only problem is that my battery drains because its missing.

Latest Octopus Tool have added support to recover the IMEI of Lg V60 and you can go to repairing shop who have these paid tools. It will cost you around 30-50 USD and I believe you will get back your IMEI.

do u have imei no
your IMEI will never get erased in the efs folder on modern android devices. if you know your IMEI no you quickly fix it through FTM

You can't repair the IMEI through the FTM partition for the AT&T variant.Believe me,I have tried countless hours and it doesn't work!Octopus Box is supposed to have a working method, but I haven't seen any proof as of yet! There is a so called working fix for the T-mobile variant, but never tried it.

Yes,I think Houtoo was having the same issues and he was doing it without the box with Korean firmware.I did find a T-Mobile IMEI repair, but you have to roll it back to A10 and re-write the partitions.I have it saved, but no T-Mobile variant to try it on.I have a USC V60 which is crossflashed with AT&T firmware I guess I could try it on?!?The USC and the T-Mobile version is basically the same phone firmware and hardware wise.

That's a good possibility!I'm in the states, and we currently can't use any custom roms because of the IMS settings from the carriers at the moment.AT&T is the worst! They went through their little 3g sunset b.s. and wiped out a bunch of unlocked, and non-AT&T sold devices so they can't use VoLTE.
