Greetings All,
I was wondering whether someone can help me with this, I have been trying to attach a doc file to a new composed email in gmail. Everytime I select "Attach" it defaults to the picture gallery instead of giving me multi options. I am not rooted using gingerbread 2.3.3. Is anyone else having this probelm and what is the solution??
Thank you in advance.
Use K9 + (Astro or Total Commander beta).
Thanks mdalacu my friend suggested that solution and it works. Astro used to be add free so i am going to uninstall it and try a different file manager. Wondering whether or not to root this S2.
As far as I know you can only have multiple attachments using those file managers. I use root primarily for Market Enabler so I can update google maps and setting dpi to 200 (qHD equivalent).
Not sure if this is an isolated issue or not .. but it appears as though on my Samsung Galaxy Ace; The Optus "My Account" app has been installed as a system application. Upon opening it Responds somewhere along the lines of "This service will be available soon".
I have tried clearing the applications data and installing the apk downloaded from the Optus site (which fails because its already installed) I believe you can get the link to download by SMS'ing "myaccount" to 966.
As a result of it being "system" it does not offer the "uninstall" option from "Manage Applications" and I am unable to update it (it is apparently already the latest version). It really is strange because it works fine on my Galaxy S.
Seems like whoever setup the phone did it incorrectly or something. (It came pre-installed)
Optus' Technical Advice is to Send it in for Repair (wtf) Thanks guys(!)
It's running the latest (AFAIK) Android software base available for the Galaxy Ace v2.3.5
Any ideas on how to fix this problem myself **without** rooting it
No rooting ? Good luck .
Edit: try adb
Sent from my GT-S5830 using XDA App
Just an update to this and it can be closed now. Optus released an app called "My Optus" which works on the phone. Took them long enough! I will never understand why they don't give users the option to uninstall their market available apps. It's extremely frustrating and annoying.
Hi,
I am having trouble with My Samsung Galaxy S2 (ICS 4.0.3) Sim alert and mobile tracker.
I go to Settings -> Location and security -> Find my mobile and everytime I try to check SIM CHANGE ALERT it says in progress but it doesn't check so I am unable to check or set up the other two options (Alert message recipients or remote controls) so can't track my mobile with Dive.
I have a samsung account and I am signed in...
Can anyone help me out - be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Maybe you should try to remove your sim card, reinsert it and try again,,,
If it does not work, check other security options for any errors..
Yes, i have tried that...but nothing changes....
I had this problem the other week. If I remember correctly, I had to delete the Samsung account (don't worry, there's a bug in Samsung's ICS 4.0.3 which allows you to remove it without doing a factory wipe!), then re-add it, and go into Samsung Apps->My page->Downloads to check that it's working properly.
Oh, and it should go without saying that you need a data connection (3G or WiFi) and your Samsung account password...

Yes it's works ! Thanks for your help cowbutt....
we just need to remove and re-add the samsung account...
1. just go to Settings > Accounts and sync then remove your samsung account from there....
2. then go to Settings > Security > Find my mobile > check the menu "SIM change alert" then insert your samsung id and password...now the menu is checked.
for menu "Remote Controls" same as step 2.
if one of the above menu checked will automatically add your samsung account to account and sync menu.

SIM alert sending IMEI instead of Phone number

Yes , I tested this feature on Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-i9100G, it works and It really sends the IMEI number.
But if you checked the source of the message it will be definitley , the phone number.
so you have both IMEI and Phone number.
Regards
Thanks

Exactly same problem i have been gone thru, and ur comment made it to resolve imediately.Actually i hav disabled my samsung account few days ago due to low space in phone memory and 'sim change alert' and ' remote sim ' could not get open in settings. Now it gets configured after enabling samsung account otherwise it says 'Unfortunately!! Setting has been stopped'
I recently got a new Gear S and installed the Gear Manager on my Samsung J7. But could not pair it. I have tried all possible means from tips in this forum but all in vain.
I get an error message asking to check if my phone is compatible and if the samsung gear app needs to be updated.
The app is of the latest version. I would like to know if my phone is compatible? And also if there is a way to make it compatible if it is not.

Hi, How did you do it? Can you please explain as there was nothing explained in your youtube link.
Hey guys,
After looking around for a really long time and trying lot's of solutions, here is what I got:
First of all credit goes to:
@Akram (http://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s/general/tutorial-install-gear-manager-connect-t2934307),
@Brendo and
@kingakuma (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60263721&postcount=252)
I followed what kingakuma posted, but here is an explanation to what I did:
Please note you DO NOT need to be rooted for this to work
Also this is over-simplified since I'm not a developer but I really looked a lot for a solution too and was not easy to find
This was tested on Samsung Galaxy J7 and Galaxy Gear S
1- THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: you have to disconnect data and wifi, DO NOT BE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET BY ALL MEANS!
2- Download this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zkp406v78lelv4o/Gear S 2.2.15022599.7z?dl=0
3- Extract file on your pc and transfer the folder that has 3 folders + 1 apk file inside to your phone inside any folder by cable
4- IF YOU ARE NOT DISCONNECTED FROM THE INTERNET ALREADY ON YOUR PHONE, THEN DISCONNECT BEFORE PROCEEDING
5- Install Samsung Gear_2.2.15022599.apk
6- Open folder "Downloaded" and install everything inside
7- Open folder "Extracted" and install everything inside
8- MAKE SURE YOU ARE STILL DISCONNECTED FROM THE INTERNET, DO NOT CONNECT NOW
9- Go to the apps list and you will find the Gear Manager installed, open it
10- Make sure your Gear is reset and make the phone look for it by bluetooth, then when it appears, click on it
11- It should start going through the routine setting of the watch on the phone, you might get a message that SAProviders stopped, just press OK and don't mind it
12- Accept everything you get, choose the stuff you want to be notified about
NOTE: Make sure you mark everything you want to be notified about on the gear because you will not be able to access this menu anymore
13- If SAProviders keep stopping you can install what is inside the 3rd folder, but in my case it doesn't stop again unless I reboot the device, it displays the message once and stops, so I never tried the last folder
VERY IMPORTANT: When you connect to the internet, the Gear Manager will want to update, it will paralyze all the app's functions and display a certain message that you should update, DO NOTTTTTT UPDATE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, this will only get you back to the same problem and Gear Manager will say your device is not supported
Okay, now you have connected your watch to your phone, here are the problems:
1- It doesn't automatically connect the phone to the watch like it used to, but since you cannot access the gear manager, you may connect through the list of bluetooth devices, so you will be getting all the notifications like you used to, but you will not be able to change that unless you disconnect from internet, uninstall gear manager, re-install Samsung Gear_2.2.15022599.apk and fix the notifications you wanna receive
2- You can't install apps to the gear from the phone anymore since you cannot access Gear Manager
Other than these two issues, everything works perfectly until someone figures out a final fix
Please let me know if it worked for you or if any point isn't clear enough, again I'm a huge noob, that's why this is very simplified.
Hope it helped

Thanks!

Hi everyone, the thing could work with airplane mode. But once I on internet, it does not sync. I heard that could change the model number to supported phone like s6 but how to change the model number? Please do advice. Thank in advance!
1. Download and install the following apk (from internet)
a- Gear Plugin (v.2.2.03.16033141N)
b- Samsung Gear (v2.2.16022241)
c- Samsung Accessory Service (v2.16.125)
2. Open the 'Samsung Gear' app and connect the mobile with the watch
