how to remove samsung daily - Samsung Galaxy S10 Guides, News, & Discussion

Is there any way to remove Samsung daily and get bixby or make bixby default back on a s10 5g non rooted phone?

I think you need root for that. You might be able to do it thru ADB, but I'm not sure.

Try deleting all Samsung Daily data and turn it off. It should reset its settings to 0. I did that with Bixby so it's not cobfigurated so pressing bixby button does nothing because it's not cobfigurated

Just go to settings/applications then go to daily and uninstall its update. It will revert to stock bixby and you will need to avoid updating it again.

Tried that when it was on beta and it worked. Now i when i uninstall update and go back to the app in settings it just says "update samsung daily" No bixby

Ah so it's built-in now. As I am rooted, I would try to replace the actual apk with the older one from apkmirror

[Q] Help! freezed Motoblur HOME and no other launcher

Dear all,
This is the first time I have use an android device, and I have search many forums with no solution. So, thanks for everyone's time in helping me out.
1) I have root the Atrix.
2) I install Bloat Freezer from the market.
3) Install GoLauncher from market.
4) I freeze the 'home' app or system process (I'm not sure what term to use) using the bloat freezer.
Everything was fine. Untill, I decided to give this phone to my sister and from the phone instruction, I need to erase everything to factory default in order to get rid of my market account (no sure if this is the only option, but that's what the phone reflect when I try to delete my account). then, I
1) go the settings > privacy and run the reset factory default.
2) Did not defrost the 'home' app.
After the phone get back to factory default, I manage to get back to the initial stage of Motoblur setup. After setting up, the funny thing comes. There is only blank screen with a notification bar and nothing else. The lockscreen still works and double tap on the home button startup browser and hold on the search button goes to voice command. So I think the phone works, but without the GUI.
My so call solution,
The bloat freezer developer is very nice to send me an apk to defrost everything I had freeze. So,
1) I need to install the apk without the GUI. ( I found a way which not sure if works, by using a software to sideload using PC.
2) Using a Update.zip to install the apk (which I seriously don't know how to do it as I am just starting to use android)
3) Any way to defrost using adb (which also requires USB debugging enable).
Problem: I can only do it with USB debugging enable. Which is impossible as the phone is freshly reset and I cannot enable the USB debugging using the phone without a GUI.
Help:
Is there anyone who knows how to enable the USB debugging without using the phone?
Or direct me to settings using any shortcuts?
Or any other solutions? Flashing the sbf is my last resort.
Hope my explanation of my problem is clear and thanks to everyone who has view this thread and try to help me or give me suggestion.
Flash a fresh sbf, instructions and files are in the dev forum, I'd give you a link if I wasn't on my phone

Thank you for your advise. I saw the thread in flashing sbf. but this is my last resort or is this my only option? I really hope not. First time using android, flashing sbf is kind of a big step for me
wait!!1 don't flash!!! hold down home button to bring up latest apps and click on blotware freezer and unfreeze it

Unfortuanately, I reset to factory default makes the app not there anymore. So the only to defrost is the apk from the Bloatware freezer developer.
If you already did a reset and you don't have anything on the phone I would just do the sbf since you don't have anything to lose.

In the future (hopefully it won't happen again) you can log into your market account on a computer and download any old launcher. It will be pushed to your phone and from there you can then unfreeze your prefered launcher and swith back to it.

I have the same problem, only early stage.
I just rooted my phone, for the first time, installed Bloat Freezer, Froze Moto Blur HOME which has caused an error which I can’t get passed to fix and unfreeze.
The error states Sorry, the application home process has stopped working. Please try again. Force Close.
So, what is the easiest way to fix this without going too far down the rabbit hole?
That said my disgust with Moto Blur has got me this far, I’m sure it could take me further.
Thanks for your help.

Rooted phone, wifi and bluetooth only work intermittently

I recently rooted my Galaxy S4, and now my wifi and bluetooth only work occasionally. These will be times when it works, but other times the wifi will shut off and even if I press the on "off" button it will go to "on" for a few seconds but then go back to "off." Any help guys?

If you are willing, you can always do a full wipe to stock . Just use titanium backup to backup your user apps.

A full wipe through odin should fix all software problems. If you still have issues after a full wipe(and nothing altered yet), the problem will be in your hardware.
*maybe the newest samsung update screwed some stuff up. that is a possibility as well.
Factory reset didn't work
My wifi is still down, any other options? Should I unroot?

How to disable device administrators via ADB without root?

In my N7, after applying the OTA from 5.0.2 to 5.1 , the tablet is "semi bricked" since it can't boot into the system (well gets into a systemui crash loop not showing anything on the screen but the power off menu..).
I remember that I had an app called "Lockscreen Policy":
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wordpress.chislonchow.deviceadminkeyguard&hl=es
Which did some stuff on 4.2 about hiding lockscreen widgets or something like that.
Now I think this is the app that made this mess, and I want to uninstall it via ADB.
The problem is that it gives out an error saying it's a device administrator (it was indeed)
adb uninstall com.wordpress.chislonchow.deviceadminkeyguard
Failure [DELETE_FAILED_DEVICE_POLICY_MANAGER]
I am not rooted and can't root here without unlocking the bootloader and wiping, which I try to evade. Since I am no root, I can't just pd disable it or something like that..
Anyone could help me? how can I "deactivate" this device manager so I can uninstall it?
Thanks in advance!
Please, can anyone help me with this?
I'm on a urge to deactivate a device manager in ADB and im not rooted (the Ota for 5.1 in my N7 made it semi brick since an app with device manager (lockscreen policy) makes Ui crash it in a loop before it even gets to the lockscreen, so it's absolutely unusable..)

BTW if that screen lock isn't a system app than you can uninstall it with safe mode

How? If you can't interact with the UI, how do you turn safe mode on ADB so it lets you uninstall it?

If this screen lock comes built in then safe mode won't help you... but if it's a third party app you can boot into safe mode with a button combination (most samsungs it's the power and volume up and middle button) and then you should be able to remove that device admin...

No. If the app makes the lockscreen UI crashing (like the one that caused me the problem), safe mode just adds a "safe mode" label in the lowest left part of the screen, it doesn't fix any UI stuff or changes anything . It's useless..

Have you succeeded?
Maybe try to disable using adb?
Even with adb, you needed root in order to fix the problem. It was so retarded, an app made the tablet semi brick after an official OTA..
Try to factory reset but think before you do...

samsung pay?

Not sure if this is place to ask this, but how do you get rid of samsung pay? I have no use for it and dont want it on my phone (Tmo Note 5 7.0 QG3 stock rom running Magisk 14.0). I tried using terminal emulator debloat but it didnt work at first but read somewhere that you have to uninstall the updates first but everytime I try to do that my phone reboots. Same thing for samsung+. I go into settings, apps, click on samsung pay or framework or +, click uninstall and boom the phone reboots. It also will not let me disable it either. I have searched google for the last 2 days trying to figure out why it is doing this but could not find anything. Can someone please help? I just want it off my phone.

Question New stock, unmodified S23 Ultra; banking apps and samsung pass doesn't work, saying it's rooted but it's not

Hey! So yeah, loving the phone but it's giving me a headache; it's not rooted or tampered with. Not even OEM unlocked. Only developer options were unlocked. Apps and settings were migrated from my previous Samsung phone with SmartSwitch.
From the download menu:
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official

All kinds of root and safetynet and whatever apps pass and software and security patches are up to date (Google Play 1 January 2023, Android security patch 1 February 2023, Status: Official)
But Samsung Pass says "Your device has been rooted. Samsung Pass cannot be used on rooted devices for security reasons." Banking apps are obscure but one does give some hints as to the possible causes: modification attempt through hooking, using untrusted screen reader application, root or jailbreak, using untrusted keyboard application.
I use AdGuard and a 3rd party launcher (Flick) instead of OneUI and FlorisBoard keyboard but even if they are uninstalled the issue stays. I don't use any other major apps, just a bunch of regular apps. I don't use "screen reader" as far as I know and TalkBack is disabled.
This is really annoying and I can see dozens of similar cases even for older Sxx generations sometimes after updates and happening out of nowhere and even with new stock phones. People report that sometimes factory reset helps but sometimes doesn't and sometimes it only helps for a while.
I really don't want to factory reset just to try if it works until I exhausted all other options. It took me well over a day to set up everything the way I wanted.
Any help other than reset is very much appreciated!
Find Samsung Pass in apps...and clear data.
^Thanks, but it didn't help.

I have the same issue and Im thinking about it is caused by smart switch from my old s21u which was rooted. Did You use smart switch too? Maybe I should do a factory reset, but then I lose all my stuff..
^Yep, I also used SmartSwitch with a rooted S9+. And I did find a few posts about SmartSwitch being the issue. But there are also some posts that said that reseting and not using SmartSwitch but manually installing all the apps they used the issue came back later. So far not using SmartSwitch is the only thing that might help but hopefully there's something else I can do to fix this without reseting.

My banking apps refused to work until I closed developer mode, it worked normally again, give it a try it may help, otherwise do a hard reset, and don't use smart switch next time

Install Riru. It will tell you what symptoms of root it detects and could help to understand the cause of this issue.

HOLY ****! I could kiss you right now! That tool is awesome!
It was Xposed installed automatically with SmartSwitch which I didn't notice or even ever opened on this phone. Uninstalled it and everything works! Thank you!
I had magisk installed lmao.. (cuz of the smart switch)
