Our Android Development!!! - Moto E Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Guys, what happened to our device development?? I think its dead now due to low end mobility!! I am reverting my moto e (condor) to back to lollipop.. While am trying different lollipop custom roms i found major problem is that my phone is going to boot loop while installing apps like WhatsApp, telegram etc. I don't know why my phone is going to boot loop.. Any one has any suggestions please tell me it is only choice for me to use android lollipop custom rom ...
If anyone had fully stable lollipop custom rom please tell me fast... Am waiting !!!

Please send fully stable lollipop custom rom link so that i can download it ...

Guy, don't expect a fast answer on such a low end and old device forum, can't you wait more than 2 minutes? ...
I have this device, and the most stable ROM I'd find is AOSPB (based on Android 6.0), the adaptive storage works fine but didn't test Wi-Fi nor Bluetooth as my phone has the Wi-Fi IC and BT antenna damaged.
Just look for AOSPB on the development section, it should work fine!

Mokee android L for z7 mini

Hi,
i was using Mokee 4.4.4 and since a few weeks I'm using Mokee 5.0.2
It is a rom like CM12 but with some customization, not as many as AOKP but still more than in CM12
It is multilangual and as stable as cm12
It was updated recently : http://www.yirom.com/rom/index/344
did someone already download it ? If yes is it possible to upload it somewhere else like mega ?
Thank you in advance
I'm running the 23/3 version of Mokee 5.02 as of a few hours. So far so good!
Does dual sim works well?
And battery consumption is similar to 4.4.4 RC7?
Did you detected any bugs?
Is it stable enough for a daily device?

I'm using the previous version (1st march) and I used it daily
i don't use 2 sim cards.
I had 1 reboot (not a wished, it was because of a crash) in nearly one month

The previous version dual SIM worked very well. I'll know if the dual SIM will work well for the new version later this week as I will be travelling.
Yes I'm using it for a daily work phone as I rely on it. Thou I have my ultra-stable iPhone 6 as my personal phone/backup :victory:
can someome upload it ?
EDIT: Someone post a mirror in other topic
I used this one : http://www.gamefront.com/files/24894999/MK50.2-nx507j-201503230233-UNOFFICIAL.zip
I think I get more spontaneous reboots with this new version than with the last version. However, it could be due to the memory leak issue all Android Lollipop phones have and isn't fixed until 5.1
Hoping to see Mokee 5.02 upgrade soon to 5.1 and integrate native dual SIM support...
Hello, I like the mokee rom,
If you have the file MK50.2 or more, please post it !

This has been confirmed in several posts on some of the Chinese bbs. Apparently, someone has released a temporary fix; although, I haven't tried it yet. I agree, I'm having the same problem. Additionally, it vibrates for everything. I currently have it set to vibrate only on phone and SMS, yet it does for everything and I cannot find out how to make it stop.

I didn't noticed this kind of error
but I admit this is because of my config => my phone does not vibrate and it is my xiaomi MiBand who vibrate for specific notifications
does anybody have a custom recovery that works with android 5.0 on z7 mini.
I have stock 5.0 installed and wanted to flash the newest mokee. but when i want to make a backup through the old mokee cwm, but it always says "cant mount data".I would thing thats because of the changed partitions.
Anyway, is there any (non-chinese) recovery that i can use with stock 5.0?

Here in the z7 mini rom thread on post 781 (top) is a link to TWRP 2.8.5.0. However, I don't know if the new mokee works after flashing the nubia version of 5.0 because I don't think (someone can correct me) the mokee uses unified storage yet. Can someone verify this?
Thanks, trying TWRP right now.
So anybody knows if i can flash Mokee 5.02 after flashing Offical 5.0 with the new kind of partitions?

I did not tried it right now as i'm still discoverng this android 5 by nubia...
i just tried it 1 min and can already say that I may switch to mokee soon (I'll try the nubia rom 1 week I guess..)
the UI feels slow
I don't like the nubia theme
and beside of that, the French translation f(cuoco92 rom) is partial and canadian only (other timezone, other clock format, other keyboard layout...)
nubia's rom seems more unstable than mokee (from the first comments I read on cuoco92 facebook page)
it is also very BIG (double the size...)
If you are afraid of bricking the phone, you can also use the stupid chinese tool to install again kitkat on the phone, then install again mokee
but i guess (not sure !!!! ) that it should be possible to install mokee without doing this pain in the ass trick :/

No, you cannot. See this thread on the Nubia forum. CM12 and Mokee are still technically considered 4.4 because they do not use the unified storage. You will most likely brick the phone if you attempt to flash it. You have to first use the Nubia updater to go back to at least 1.82, then you can use CM12 or Mokee.

Please help me pick a custom Rom, overwhelmed

Finally managed to officially unlock bootloader, but since I started that process over 2 weeks ago, a lot has happened in the Rom and development forum. I was originally going for CM13, but I'm not longer sure if that's a good idea.
I mostly use my phone as a music player, and it runs most of the day while I'm at work. I occasionally send calls and text messages.
I got the RMN3 for the battery and significantly larger screen than what I had before. Phone plans in canada are god awful and as such I got literally no data on my plan, so outside of home wifi, I got no internet on it.
The reason I want a custom rom is mainly to remove bloat and improve battery life, and maybe add a few functions/ behaviours.
I don't really care about the fingerprint sensor, should it not work, but having the camera non-functional is a no-go.
I'm not really interested in constantly having to flash an update on my phone. I just want one good, stable rom with little to no bloat that will do what I'll ask it to, with a good battery life, without crashing. Updating once every month or so would be reasonable. I heard that Android 7(+) had some battery life improvements (Doze?) so I'm conflicted as to rom and android versions.
I'm pretty new to Android, and I'm completely overwhelmed by the many different types of roms, along with the many different versions of the same rom (Example: many CM14/14.1 builds).
There's a lot of guides, but most of them seem out of date.
Device: Global Dev, Kenzo
Any suggestions? (If possible, please also include which version of TWRP you would recommend)
I personnally own the Kate version and flashed the official CM13 ROM built for Kenzo on it.
Everything is working fine for me, including the fingerprint sensor and the camera.
I also use the phone to listen to music all day at work and it worked really well with good battery life.
About the TWRP version I used, honestly I don't remember very well since I tried a few and the reason was something to do with the Kate device I believe, so you may not have to use the same version of TWRP.

any stable rom with interactive gov
Hi, you mentioned stock ROM (not Cyanogen or Nexus experience, just stock). Where could I get that from?
I'm on beanstalk ROM (android 7.1) loving it!
Try krexus-CAF!
You could go for the official build of RR with Radon kernel
welcome to the race, mate
well if you want to improve battery life you are recomended to flash AOSP-Based roms . miui and cm-based roms have battery drain issue (i can't explain why, but i can say that because i tried them)
my recomendation would be Cardinal AOSP
try rr remix 5.7.4 with radon kernel...

Now for real: Which is the most stable "6.0 and up" ROM for the Galaxy Alpha G850F?

Now for real: Which is the most stable "6.0 and up" ROM for the Galaxy Alpha G850F?
I'm sick of it... finding the stock ROM is a pain in the ass and all custom Roms above Lollipop are mostly unusable as daily drivers.
Resurrection Remix and Lineage OS got problems with recognizing phone rotation... youtube gets literally unusable.
Epsil ROM and other Lollipop ROMs got harsh slowdowns after some days that can only be fixed by restarting.
Is there any ROM from Marshmallow upwards that is stable enough to get used as an daily driver?
From my experience, no. There is not even plenty of roms above Marshmallow for this device, only the cyanogenmod/lineage and their RR versions.
i see only stock rom is the best for Galaxy Alpha with all fully feature
Yeah, tried all of the ROMS. Epsil is the most stable atm

Ep rom's more smooth than stock rom but consuming more battery when ide
Stock huh?
The normal firmware of my phone is a ****ing bugfest.
Epsil and Resurrection Remix were nearly perfect, but both got that funny problem that turning the phone won't work after some time.
I don't really care about my phone not recognizing rotation, but I can't stand this pesky bug breaking all sound when somebody calls me as I listen to music. I'm currently trying all of CM/Lineage/RR based ROMs to see if there's any without that problem. If everything fails, I'll either stick to whichever TouchWiz based one with working stock bluetooth equalizer, or go back to full stock/rooted stock.
Hi, and what did you choose as daily driver rom?
Modpunks LOS14.1 is nice but only if camera support wasn't a meme due to changes to how nougat handles camera
I think it's better to try to port an A5 or A7 rom because A7 have same SoC with the alpha

Actually, only the A7 shares the same SoC, the A5 does not.
The A7 also sports the 5.0.2 Android so, there's no point in doing that...
Hello, i am in a DIRE need of 7.0(+) ROM (which has working GSM and GPS) for a friends device.
He absolutely need to play Pokemon GO which was recently updated and the default (5.0.2) ROM is no longer supported. Phone will be used ONLY for that.
Can you give me any hints please? Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Uhm, it seems like there is requirement only for Android 6:

Happy New Year!
I will suggest to try Kyasu Cyanogen 12.1 Rom.
The only problem that he is stop to developing at Lollipop 5.1 for SM-G850F.
Quite pity...
I never really wanted to dig up an old thread, but I was still using a Galaxy Alpha until a few weeks ago.
Just to be clear: there is absolutely NO custom rom (> lollipop) to use, right? You cannot make calls with any "final" "fully working" "best rom". So every real CustomROM is useless, or am I wrong?

I never noticed a problem with the last RR. The camera crashes were easy to solve
As someone who wants to get an old phone to fool around with, the G850W sounds boring as it's yet another 801 phone, but I think the Exynos G850F would be interesting. Is there a good 6.0+ ROM yet as of 2023?

Bluetooth help needed .. Please read

Hi to all who read this . Please offer any help or suggestions .
First I've been flashing and testing roms on multiple devices for years but I have an ongoing Bluetooth issue with the car that has stumped me . My wife and I have two LS990 G3's . We bought a new nissan a year ago for her . Her stock rom would connect with the cars bluetooth and worked great . I eventually got around to rooting her device and installed 7.1.2 Nougat . After that we discovered her phone would connect with the car's BT but only as an audio device . At the time of start I had flashed Validus on it . So I pretty much exhausted every troubleshooting tip I could find . I also tried my own device and it was the same . Connects but no phone .
I then started trying every rom made for the LS990 with zero success . Both phones would still only connect as audio . Every wipe I tried was a clean wipe and flash . I explored every possible setting related to BT with no help . I then started trying older builds working my way back through nougat skipping a couple of weeks at a time . Still , the same exact problem .
I then stepped back to the end of Lollipop and discovered the same exact problem . I worked my way all the way back to the beginning of Lollipop without ever finding one build that would give me BT phone in her car . I then stepped back to the last builds of Marshmallow . Lo and behold they hooked up her cars' BT , and the phone works perfect So something must have happened from Marshmallow to Lollipop that changed the variables .
Some facts
I've tried CM , Validus , Tesla , Tipsy , Vanir , Lineage , Crdroid and every other rom I could find , Every MM I've tried from every rom team does work perfect . Every rom from every team from Lollipop to Thru Nougat does not work .
I am convinced it's not the devices as stock roms and MM rom's work .
I don't know if it's her car's BT that just doesn't like something about BT in L and N roms so I can't blame the device trees that most of the rom builders tap from (CM , Lineage etc ).
I've posted a few times in the past asking about this but never received a reply . I've asked other LS990 users to at least chime in if their's works properly so I could determine if it's only us which would make the car suspect in my eyes but no one ever confirms whether they do or do not have this issue .
So today I'm asking for any help or confirmations from any other LS990 users if you have or don't have this same issue that she and I are experiencing . I'm forced to keep her on Marshmallow until something breaks .
I see people post problems on here asking for help without providing much info and they gets replies like " more details please " I think I've pretty much provided everything without typing a whole chapter and believe me I could write a book on this LoL . I would really like to figure out what is going on with this .
If you have read this far I appreciate it and welcome any and all replies . Thanks
I wish I could help . Maybe one good citizen will eventually come along with an answer .

Stock rom or custom

hello from everyone, I recently bought a sm j6plus. turning on the forum I saw that the latest roms are old and out of date. has this phone been abandoned? if not what rom do you use?
Stay on stock, the custom roms are not elaborated enough nowadays. J6+ is not so popular, the scene is almost dead. The few devs are really brave, and we should be thankful for their job. But as an old user of custom roms, i advise you to stay stock. And dont just yet install Android 10.
:fingers-crossed:Hello, it is true that the j6 + is not very popular, but there is the ROM of Resurrection Remix Q, whose developer has little to have put it into operation. In my model SM-J610G it works very well, except if you use two SIM cards, it freezes if you try to deactivate one or the other. The developer promised to review it but that has been a week. I hope he can solve that problem, however the ROM is very stable. I will leave you the link so you can consult.
