COL-L29 stock camera app - Honor 10 Questions & Answers

Hey! Can someone attach the stock camera app please (COL-L29 EMUI 9.1)...
Tried installing a newer version for a laugh and now I'm getting a message whenever I open the app saying this version isn't supported by my device and that I should uninstall the updates. Not sure how to uninstall the updates?
Many Thanks

update: nvm i sorted it, please delete the thread?

How to hide CyanogenOS to an app?

Hi,
just to say it: I would not have to ask this question at all, if the cyanogen forum would be up... I'm pretty sure I'm not the first cyanogenOS user with this problem.
I'm a TripAdvisor user and the android app is letting me down during my holiday at this very moment. Because I'm using CyanogenOS (not rooted) it won't show the embedded google map. The complete error message I'm getting is: "Themes on devices running Cyanogen OS are known to cause crashes with Google Maps. Maps on TripAdvisor will be disabled on this device."
I've never had a crash with Google Maps on Wileyfox Swift2. So how do I get rid of the issue with very little effort?
Thanks!
I have this same problem. It's a bit annoying for the TripAdvisor app to not even give the user the option to try the embedded Google Maps. The original poster's idea of "hiding" the fact that the device is running CyanogenMod (in my case, despite that TripAdvisor thinks its Cyanogen OS) from the app would be a useful workaround.
Anyone?
thanks.
(OnePlus One, CyanogenMod 14.1 nightly last, until LineageOS gets up and running...)
Same problem here with running Oneplus One CyanogenOS . I'm pretty sure it is a way of tripadvisor boycott Cyanogen powered devices, because I never had a single problem using both Tripadvisor or Google Maps...
Hi littlebifi, you made a point to note that your device is not rooted; is that to suggest that on a rooted device you know of a way to fool the TripAdvisor app into NOT blocking Google Maps embedded? How?
thanks,

Hi,
I'm sorry, but I don't know if it's possible to fool the app if the device would be rooted. I just stated it to describe my current setup.
As a temporary solution I downgraded my Tripadvisor app to the previous version (uninstalled the old one, downloaded an old apk from some database online and installed this one) and now it's working again. But now I have annoying update notices from the play store, but the embedded map works again.
URL of prior version Tripadvisor app .APK?
Thanks for the reply. Could you post the URL of the prior version Tripadvisor app .APK that you used? (I make the assumption that you're satisfied that it's a legitimate version, not infected/tainted).
cheers,

I'm not allowed to post outside links. So please post the link I send you as pm instead of me
I can't give any guarantee for the outside link. It works for me.
Version 19 and higher has the block for mods, so I choose the latest Version 18.
Thanks. I tried both the link you sent in the PM and another I found by searching, and on my OnePlus One with CM14.1 both are rejected as corrupt...

Is the option "Unknown sources" active? You find it under Security in the section "Device administraion".

It's not the fact that it's an .apk instead of a Store installation (that would give a different error). The Android Package Installer really thinks that these are corrupt - or perhaps the OnePlus One or CM14.1/Android 7.1 .apk has to be slightly different than whatever I'm finding in these .apk archives?

Sometimes I'm such an idiot I amaze even myself... :-}
I've got Titanium Backup on my device; all I had to do was protect and restore the last v18 of TripAdvisor. I've got embedded maps again!

Update 10.0.0.154 Received

Hi guys,
Don't know if this will work for any one of you.
Tried Software Update from Settings, it said I have the latest image (EMUI 9)
Next, I went in HiCare app, pressed on update button, and VOILA, it showed the update. Downloading now and installing.
Hope this works for you. ^_^
No it does not work. I know the update is available, but Huawei lies and says "Your software is up to date", and it's starting to piss me off.
Nope won't work for me. Did you do it through the PC?
Nothing here
Nothing yet here in brazil (C605). Some people are changing country In hicare app to cheat the system. However, didnt work here.
Have Seen people using VPN too. Once again, I had no Luck.
How is the hicare app different than the update in the settings. I'm sure it's the same?
Sent from my Huawei Mate 20 Pro using XDA Labs
I've just read that you have to make sure the hicare app has updated to 10.0.0.168 before you can update to EMUI 10. I couldn't download the update from Play store so I found the apk on Google. I still haven't got the update, but good luck.
xD

use the beta application
For me the stock version of HiCare app did not find an update. I deleted the app through adb, installed the playstore version and received the update immediately.
Hope this works for some people
Guys, for us in Europe swapping SIM card for one from another EU country worked. Thus I think that Huawei releases updates in several waves, country by country (based on SIM network ID).

Try downloading/checking you have the latest HiCare app through Play or App Gallery.
Well, that did make a difference for me:
Checking through Settings > Software Update --> says I was on latest app, no update
Checking through HiCare > Update --> immediately gave me EMUI 10.
I think it's cause I'm on Three that I'm not getting the update. Has anyone on the Three network actually got EMUI 10?

Checking through Settings > Software Update --> Says I am on latest version
Checking through HiCare > Update --> Redirects me to Software Update --> Says I am on latest version.
I followed the OP and my HiCare was updated then I tried the update tab and to my surprise got the software update notice. 10.0.0.154 on android 10
What is hicare? Can someone link please? I don't see any Huawei official HiCare named app in the play store..

Try huawei apps store. It usually comes as one of the unit bloatware
Yep worked for me. Guess has something to do when selecting a country when you start the HiCare app. In The Netherlands, where I live, the update is being pushed. Hence me receiving it after setting my location to NL when launching the HiCare app for the first time Thx m8!
Yessss!! Omg it worked!!!! Nice!!!! I've been waiting for so long for this update!! Yess
I had to update the hicare app via huawei appgallery, then setup region to USA, and click services tab, then update which redirect you to the update section on settings and now it finally shows emui 10 update!!! Wooohooo, cant wait for it to install
Attention:
On this version third party launcher like Nova dont work. Theres a fix in december update of Android 10. But Huawei needs month to rollout this version.
Untested workaround: https://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-...ova-launcher-and-other-third-party-launchers/
Who will test?

Disable system update notification

Hello, as for now i'm satisfied with Android 9 version 10.3.17 and don't want to update to buggy android 10 update. Unfortunately, from time to time such message appears:
"Android Update Required: Your Android OS Version is out of Date and Requires Updating"
Is it possible in any way to get rid of this message?
It is dangerous as you can click eirher postpone or to update now..
I also add that i have rooted phone.
Thanks in advance.

You might have luck by blocking OTA URL with a firewall or adblocking app like dns66/blokada or adguard (these work without root as a "fake VPN"). Apply blocking either system wide or just for Google play services (and maybe also update engine apk).
There is no other way without root as far as I know.

Even if you click on update now, with rooted phone it won't install.
To prevent system update notification you might try to disable SystemUpdateService (and possibly SystemUpdateGcmTaskService too) in Google Play Services (use for example app "Disable service").

ok but did you use "Package Disabler Pro v15.2" or different? And are we talking about Android One?
In Redmi (as you know based on MIUI) I had similar services and could stop them. Here I cannot find such...

Question [Request]AOD APK OOS 12

Hi,
I updated my AOD with the newest version 3.0.41, but now AOD won't work anymore. Could someone please upload the original apk for Oxygen OS 12? Every APK from apkmirror gets me the "not installed package is invalid" error. I already uninstalled the new version with adb. Thanks in advance.
Canbe closed I just uninstalled the update and now it works again...i just forgot it's now in the 3 dots where you can choose that.
